If that’s it it’s a worthy successor to my A1. Bigger battery, AMOLED and the headphone jack’s back – finally.
Well they already posted spoilers on their own Twitter 🤷🏻♂️
dear God I am so glad some companies are putting the headphone jack back in.
sd665? my interest dropped by 50% instantly.
how does this compare to note7? worth the wait?
If that article is right
Im with you
Like 665?!?!? Comon! Just leave the 6xxx and start using the new 7xxx! gosh
I expected the CC9 to be the rebranded A3 but it seems it’s going go be CC9e instead. Perhaps there will be an A3 Pro or something with the CC9’s specs.
This is deleted because I wanted to. Reddit is not a good place anymore.
I bought my wife the A2-lite a couple of weeks ago, she loves it. The Android One experience is amazing (and thats coming from me who normally uses exclusively LineageOS ).
I’ve been thinking of getting myself the A2, but seeing this I think I’ve found my new phone in the A3.
Overclocked SD660, IMO not worth it. Old technological process, old cores, even less power efficient.
But it depends on the price. If it’s $500 US then forget it.
We could get the A3 with a SD730, and a A3 Lite with the SD665
Given that the Black (Shark?) 2 kept the telephoto lens and not the wide angle one if this would actually be 48+8+2 cameras I think this will be just the same.I don’t know the aperture or sensor sizes and I get that from a marketing perspective “2x zoom” may sound better than “wide angle lens” because it has a number but I think it totally suck.If you want to crop from 48 mpx output to get down to 8 mpx equivalent of 2x zoom you can. Sure it may be slightly worse quality but you can.As for getting a wide angle photo without a wide angle lens though… Good luck! So that would be a much more useful feature.
Also I feel both notch and 6″ are weaknesses. If I don’t get a tablet then an as large as possible display is nice including 6.4 and 6.7″ and since I can get a 6.4″ Mi 9T that exist, with better processor, and in this case with the wide angle lens. Then again as the camera, processor and image stabilization seem to be better on the Mi 9 and it doesn’t cost all that much more why not go there? Sure one get a notch but ..
On the other hand if I feel my screen size needs has been covered by tablet or whatever then even smaller than 6″ would be nice, how about 5″? I don’t need the telephoto lens, not really the depth sensor either, so if that could help shrink it to closer to 5″ display that would had been nice.
665 doesn’t seem that amazeballs then again it would had MicroSD slot which they claim they don’t want to put into the premium models though it’s definitely something I feel the Mi 9 series lack, so maybe it’s supposed to be lower end and cheaper and cheaper is nice. Comfortable cheap phone is nice. If picking between 6.3″ IPS with Note 7 or 6.0″ with A3 I would likely had picked A3.
I wish the Black 2 had kept the wide angle rather than the telephoto and would had cost like the Mi 9 and then I could maybe had bought that.
Notch is a no go from me
I just want my Mi A2 Lite without a notch. The software can’t handle the notch – the only app that can deal with it well is the sideloaded Youtube Vanced. With anything else the notch becomes an extended black bar without any usable space (in horizontal for videos that is) and it functions as a notification bar only (in vertical). So useless.
Still like the phone. Gotta admit I did like the MIUI on my previous Redmi 3 Pro. Getting used to clean Android sucks. I had to buy a few apps to make the A2 Lite work how I want. Settings are disappearing from Android with every version.
No, actually the 665 is less powerful than the 660 because it’s clocked lower, but way more efficient. It’s the new processor announced along with the 730 back in april
Atleast make one with the 700 series. This was so close to a dream phone
$220 for those specs seems very reasonable.
I read in a previous article the mi A3 would have the sd730 and mi A3 lite would have the sd665
I have the a2 lite, so far my favorite thing is the battery life (8 hours sot) and the fact that I didn’t have to settle for anything I didn’t want : it has audio jack, sd card, double Sim, Android one, screen under 6″, etc.
Only thing I wish was better is the notch and the camera, which is decent but not amazing.
I think this is the lite version cuz redmi note 7 pro has 665 and a series has better COC than best redmi phones for example redmi note 5 pro had 635 and redmi note 6 pro had 636 but a2 had 660 while mi a2 lite had 625 that’s why I think mi a3 will have at least 710 and lite will have 665 .
It’s actually not cc9 has the same price and has 710 and I think this leak is wrong a3 having the same soc as redmi note 7 pro I don’t think so cuz a a2 had better soc than redmi note 6 pro so it just doesn’t make sense for mi a3 to have 665 it will at least have 710 and a3 lite will have 660 or 665
I was planning on getting Mi 9 SE and compromise on not having a headphone jack but it seems like waiting pays off.. is there any chance the camera will be better than the 9 SE?
I love Xiaomi phones, but limited LTE bands.
yeah, everybody saying diffrent stuff, just fucking wait for offical presentation goddammit
You should keep in mind here in Europe they will put taxes on the price
The Redmi note 7 pro has snapdragon 675, not 665.
As mentioned, it’s conflicting specs. One leaker mentioning SD 730 and 675 combo, while many others mentioning only 665. Really doesn’t make sense
I’ve been using the Mi 9 SE for a month, and damn, it’s a perfect phone coming from the Mi A1, the A3 should have the same camera module as the Mi 9 SE or something like that. I recommend you to wait to see what the A3 will have because the only thing that struggles me to keep this device for a long period is the battery, 3,070 it’s not bad but more is always better.
Hope it helps, any question about the phone you can send a message. (:
I haven’t experienced that, to be precise I haven’t noticed any bugs at all. There are two models with different storage and ram, I have the lower version and I haven’t noticed much closing of apps in the background either unless I use a heavy app for a bunch of time. I do use emulators and the CPU isn’t able to run GameCube games properly but to be fair that is way above my expectations for a device this price. From my experience of it which is not that long as I’ve only had the device for a couple months, it’s a great budget phone that feels premium. Highly recommend it.
To expand on that problem you mention, it’s possible it is due to heavy os (miui) combined with low ram, but with Android one being on the lighter side maybe it’s less of an issue on this specific phone. Before buying I tried a few xiaomi phones in this price range but I do think pure stock gives it a more polished and fast feel.
I am fairly sure the 6-series will not be used for the A3. I cannot imagine
I love the rose gold colour of my A1 though, they never did it again 🙁
I got the higher-spec one for my wife. She plays a lot of online games, so manages to use the battery down to 10% by the end of the day.
Basically the newer RN7 with clean android and stronger cpu.
If it comes with NFC then I’m sold. It’s a deal breaker for me
Xiaomi doesn’t have official aliexpress store
it’s a miu thing only, Android One phones run software from Google and works as intended
Are those stereo speakers??
Not official.
A3 = CC9e

If I see it right, no NFC 🙁
Thanks! 🙂
Hopefully there’s a Mi A3 Pro version with Snapdragon 730
>According to WinFuture, some of the hardware includes a 6-inch 2240×1080 AMOLED screen, a 48MP main camera, secondary 8 and 2MP cameras, a Snapdragon 665 processor, 64 or 128GB of internal storage (with microSD support), and a large 4,000mAh battery
from the article
Sorry, where did it indicate no NFC from the link? I hope not but also wouldn’t be totally surprised since the predecessors didn’t have it. Deal breaker for me if so.
The A3 based on [CC9e](https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_cc9e-9759.php) and there is no NFC. I agree, this is dealbreaker in 2019 🙁
If the 8MP camera is wide angle I would be interested.
Dunno how reputable [this store](https://www.dualstore.ro/telefoane-mobile/3746-xiaomi-mi-a3-4-gb-ram-64-gb-rom-miui-102-android-9-qualcomm-snapdragon-730-octa-core-639-inch-4030-mah-dual-sim.html) is, but the specs say it has a SD 730 and NFC.
Market segmentation… They have 7xx in the Mi 9t / Mi 9 SE with already similar price points. I think they’re trying to not cannibalize sales.
if only they give us the CC9e without the stupid screen resolution
I see. So if I understand correctly, the cc9e does not have NFC, but the cc9 does?
I’m hoping for a mi A3 pro then.
Doubt it. SD730 requires a higher starting price point.
Also that chin… Damn.
so note 7 is still going to be a bit better?
I know I made a mistake and I said note 5pro had 635 and it actually has 363
