Yeah. I saw the post about app. It allows the gesture for all phones. Thanks for bringing it up.
You gently slap the back of your phone with your finger
Actually got this feature on the nokia n8, via third party developers, I don’t even remember the year😅
What phones will support this feature?
Hopefully, it’s smarter than that. Otherwise, it’s totally pointless. But double tap and triple tap are extremely difficult to trigger unintentionally.
Wait so how does it work? Where do you tap? Just the back?
Oh right ok thanks, I was a little confused
Probably not needed. This doesn’t require special hardware and instead rely on existing sensors like accelerometer or gyroscope.
It’s going to work like this…

I’m still waiting for miui12 on my redmi note 8. So yeah, guess we’ll just have to wait a little longer
Anyone know when is Miui12 coming to Redmi7 ?
ALL COPIED NOKIA
I can’t wait to have this in 2025
No. Where did you even get that idea? Pixel 4 and iPhones don’t even have fingerprint sensors. It uses existing sensors like accelerometer and gyroscope.
>What’s interesting about these “Columbus” gestures, in comparison with Active Edge and Motion Sense, is that they seemingly don’t require any special hardware—just your phone’s gyroscope and accelerometer
from u/spexfelo
which supposedly means all phones (who have the update)
my double tap to wake screen gesture is too sensitive when I’m not using it and too unsensitive when using it. it sucks.
This has been implemented forever. Back in 2014 there was a game I was playing called “fast like a fox” where you tapped the back of the device to make the fox accelerate faster.
Sorry to disappoint, but MIUI moves at a fast pace. You’ll see new features like this being introduced constantly and weekly if you look at MIUI betas.
Now, as for when it would come to stable, I can’t say for sure. But it will at most take a year with MIUI 13, if not earlier.
Did Apple copy Google or vice versa?
Pardon me? This isn’t an image post but a link post. The image you’re seeing must be the thumbnail of the XDA link I posted.
Do I really want this on my Note 9?
I don’t have to download it, do I?
I’ve heard it’s glitchy.
back of the device means? fingerprint sensor?
EDIT : nevermind i found out from [this](https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-android-11-double-tap-rear-gestures/) article

It Is obviously COMMING. If you flash xiaomi.eu you should get it asap
Ay how did you make an image post, swear you can’t do that on r/Xiaomi
This is not present in Global sadly, might be in a few months. Currently it’s a bit hidden in China beta ROM.
I got to option yesterday but it’s still downloading (34%)
Repeat 2 or 3 tines
Why its coming to xiaomi in miui 12
So its compatible only with finger print sensors at the back of devices?
Yes. Haha. I am used to tapping the back of the phone while staring at texts and thinking what to reply. Instant disable after getting the update.
I didn’t notice until this update that CV tracker was installed by Google. Interesting.
Cool, I like this
OnePlus screen-off gestures are something I’d like. Being able to shuffle songs with a quick swipe is awesome.
Cool, hope when i put the phone on a table it doesnt launch trillions of apps.
I still don’t have miui12 🙂
