Im using RedMi Note 7. Just updated to 12.5.3 and my google play, Youtube, Gmail stops working. WTF yo, my work encompasses around using google!
Fucking pretencious Mi dev, shouldn’t bother promoting & selling their phone internationally if you can’t support international app. Fucking nationalist greedy pricks, get a fucking grip and respect google
Is there anyway to make Google play work again or downgrade to my previous update?
Flashing a custom ROM will cause all data to be erased. Xiaomi.EU ROMs cause erasure on the first flash, updating the ROM will not cause data erasure (from what I recall, be sure to check before doing anything).
Due to the Xiaomi.EU ROM?
It’s a nice phone.
Pictures are good, display is brilliant, it’s fast.
The only thing that turns me a bit off is that Xiaomi decided to put some restrictions into the ROM.
I prefer cn ROM for some exclusive features. When the global ROM is available i will flash it because loosing the few cn features is less painful then dealing with the new restrictions xD.
What is your impression about M11?
I’m in the same boat as you. I don’t know much about bootloadera and Roms…how does it work? Will I lose all my data currently on my phone?
I’ve got xiaomi.eu Ron on my K30 5G which was China only released, obviously I’ve imported it to England. The supplier done a bad flash of the original ROM it came with as it wouldn’t detect an camera module apart from the macro one.
I have got to say the Xiaomi.eu ROM is excellent the guys over there are doing a brilliant job and I’m using the stable ROM for my device but I am tempted to try the 12.5 nightly.
Hopefully you’re talking about Google. Requiring default system launcher for gestures is ridiculous.
My Mi 11 shows as Mi 10 LOL
I’m interested in installing a rom on my mi 10 pro. I tried registering at your link above but got ” Your account has been rejected for the following reason: Your registration has been rejected as it resembles spam-like or automated behavior. Please contact the administrator for further information or assistance.. “. I try to contact them but the links just load the same page over with no email or contact info.
one step on the right direction.
Netflix breaks right?
You need to root it, use MagiskHide etc. Here’s the K30 Ultra guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-working-google-pay-on-redmi-k30-ultra.4186933/
I know it’s OK but I just upgraded from a phone which gave me about 10h SOT and with the bigger battery on the mi 11 I expected it to at least be even so it’s a bit disappointing
Yeah but it should still be enough, and if you stay in house you can charge it really fast back up anyway, seems like a stupid reason to not want the phone imo, but you know your situation better than me so I can’t know
Lockdown is taxing dude
I’m not new to custom roms and unlocking bootloaders, did it for years since 2010 to 2013ish. I just got tired of it and I know back then some features were crippled when the bootloader or root was detected. And yes I know all data is wiped.
Nothing broke for me BUT all your data will be erased so make a backup. If you’re only worried about stock miui, I did not face any problems.
does anything break? Mostly interested on staying on stock rom.
For example Sony cameras used to disable their firmware for the camera if bootloader was unlocked.
Yes, you are, or at least I was able to. I was able to with global miui, with xiaomi.EU and most custom Roms.
Edit: custom ROMs like xiaomi.EU, Pixel experience, evolution x, and arrow OS have worked for me in the past. And I definitely recommend all of them.
eu doesnt exist for MTK phones
But this means GPay doesnt work, because the device isnt certified for GPay
No
Mate how can you have problems with battery life when it’s at the very least 6 hours, do you live on your phone or what?
Yes Xiaomi turns into shit.
I got a m11 today and it’s a shame such a nice phone but the restrictions they start to put in .. it was the last Xiaomi phone for a longer while.
Does .eu blow the warranty?
And why is nobody making roms for the regular note 9
Why did Xiaomi allow Google apps previously in the first place? Isn’t Google completely banned in China?
Is there a chance that Xiaomi could become the next Huawei? How safe are Xiaomi phones to buy at this moment outside of China?
So if i am currently running a K30 Ultra with google apps? Will they work fine if i update or will stop working?
are you still able to use Google Pay after unlocking bootloader?
Yep, it’s this simple.
unlock your bootloader and flash xiaomi EU rom, works great for me, battery life is what it is, its a 6.81″ 2K screen with 120 hz refresh rate. I still make it through the day no problem.
The China rom always has been for use in China. The Global rom or even the custom [Xiaomi.eu](https://Xiaomi.eu) roms are much better for usage outside of China
If you use Xiaomi phone with Snapdragon chip then you are safe
Yup, unlocked Xiaomi is the best of both worlds. Got myself a Redmi Note 7 Pro on Chinese rom a year ago and best bang for the buck phone I ever got. Now rocking the Pixel Experience rom.
After those 7 days, you’ll be able to unlock the bootloader properly and flash the global rom. Or, if you want, you can flash the latest xiaomi.eu roms which have more features than the normal miui versions and no ads in their software.
Yeah my Chinese Cc9 Pro became gimped when I did the last ota update – Chrome, Gmail, Maps etc became unusable. Unlocked the bootloader and flashed a global rom and my phone is now a okay and showing as a Mi Note 10 now.
Unlocking bootloader is a challenge – I’ve got a K30 I bought in China. I’m no longer in China and I wanted to flash to a global ROM…it’s proving to be almost impossible to unlock bootloader.
I may be ignorant of the correct process to unlock the bootloader but the methods I’ve followed that I found on the internet have not helped. I’m currently waiting for 7 days for Xiaomi to unlock the bootloader. Hopefully, once that’s done I’ll be able to flash a global ROM.
The K30 is an outstanding phone – but after the system update to 12.1.3 all the google apps have stopped working.
Such a bummer… I agree with fatty\_fat\_cat’s comment – this is a piss poor decision. Maybe Xiaomi is retaliating to the latest US decision to “black list” Xiaomi.
Fuck me buying a chinese Mi 11, first setback was bad battery life and Bugs, then they changed their privacy policy and now this….
unlock bootloader, get TWRP recovery and either flash OpenGapps or Xiaomi.eu
you can unlock the bootloader and flash gapps i think you could do that
Really piss poor decision on Xiaomi. Because Im currently living in China, I got myself a CN Rom Xiaomi phone.
Guess I’m going back to Samsung.
