Well, at least it’s the budget line. It could be worse. It could be their flagship and only phone for the year. Cough, cough.

A double camera setup on the back would have made me change to a mix, but I’ll stick to the OnePlus 5 I own for the moment. Next year’s mix might be difficult to resist to, I love the direction they’re taking with it and love xiaomi a lot! (My girlfriend calls me a fan boy … She has no idea xD)

Not hating Apple or their products it’s just that you can something that also does the job and is like 5 times cheaper and most people wouldn’t mind the difference. It’s just that they believe it’s better because Apple’s brand name is on it. 99,9% of iPhone users don’t know what a soc is or what it does do you think that they bought the iPhone because they thought to themselves “I really need a good soc for doing X and Y”? No they just thought “iPhones are good let me get an iPhone”

But they are indeed right, you get a good and working product no matter what: no vendor ROMs, no checking if bands are compatible, no random luck with camera sensors and fingerprint scanners, … You basically just buy an iPhone and be sure that it works.

Apple’s philosophy just rubs some people the wrong way, me included. It’s all carefully calculated to generate awe, to cause laughter like with the evil twin remark during the event. There is very little genuine yet they act like no one could ever see through them.

The form over function ideology, the outrageous pricing and innovation claim are on one end. On the other, there is the xerox issue, the 18 employees jumping from factory to their death because they didn’t want to make iphones, and safety nets were installed. There is the $5 million donation to hurricane victims but then there are the tax shelter court hearings. There is the talk about Steve the great innovator but there is also the Steve who didn’t like showers and baths, liked acid and tried to fight cancer with a fruit diet. All this talk about vision for the future yet Steve was against the idea for an app store until others convinced him. Desperate attempts to secure monopoly with patents all the while syphoning exorbitant amounts of money. No one can objectively justify a $1000 phone but it would help if it were actually built in the US. There is also the complete currency exchange ignorance, buying in the UK=£999…

Every year they talk of innovation yet the features bragged about were present in other phones for years… They tried to play the victim yet before they got into the phone business, so many other companies coexisted with a lot less litigation going on, until they entered. Apple earned lots of bad karma, they deserve to fall from grace.

Yes, their CPU/GPU combos are superior to anything else. Yet they sat rigidly on 3.5″ screens forever and then they quietly adopted those very “jumbo” screens they used to make fun off. Sued Android for anything they could yet quietly adopted many of it’s features while desperately trying to prevent Android from utilizing features they claimed ownership of.

Their phones are intuitive, my mother never got along with android phones I got her yet she mastered the iPhone once I got it for her.
They are good at what they do, there is no doubt about it yet they are such a sleazy business, I boycott their products out of principle.

Because Android fanboys got their feelings hurt. I’m not an iPhone fan either but there’s no question about A11 being the superior chip.

Yeah but Microsoft has a tendency to innovate to early and when the tech isn’t mature enough to be useful. I.e smart phones, tablets, living room PC’s. apple swoops in when the timing is right.

I think it may have led to decision to fight cancer with a fruit diet. I brought it up because they pushed the squeaky clean image. In fact he was a IP thief who got lucky to be around real talent like Wozniak whom he treated like shit, as well as many others.
