I have it on my mi 8 Pro 😋 used to have the Mi 8 lite too, good phone for sure
What about UI overhaul? Something that is more 2020 than what we have
Better microphone quality is all we need
Yes I need this too. Camera2 API should be added ASAP.
I don’t want to mess with unlocking bootloaders or rooting just to install Google Camera.
It didn’t force me once till now. They asks to install lawnfeed, for google cards on the left pane, which i didn’t do because i like single page homescreen. I haven’t heard anything about them hoarding data till now. Have been using it for long.
Lawnchair forces you to install the third party application with crazy permissions just to get Google feed no?
I only use only scrolling screenshot and even that from time to time. Also boring is good, boring is intuitive and works. I am not particularly saying that MIUI should look like pure Android, just make a change already.

Why would it be impossible? I never said I wanted google style UI. I agrre it’s kind of boring but it just works for me.
Scanner was gone all with all other shits i debloated.
Call recording, scrolling screenshot, inbuilt app lock, themes, dual space, inbuilt firewall to block internet access even to system apps etc. In stock android everything needs seperate app and need root for certain things. Getting it inbuilt works perfectly. But i prefer stock look than miui, stock seems easy. In miui i get confused where in the hell some settings are and i have to search it. Plain stock is boring as hell.
\+1 for this, i have a mi 8 lite and it doesn’t have Camera2Api on by default on stock rom 🙁
Do you people really scan ID on that app? Try use it after restricting access to WiFi and mobile data and you will find is true purpose. (I’m a Xiaomi owner)
No it’s not. It’s the same since at least MIUI 9, with changes to settings design which I hate, because text js opposite of condensed. It’s wide with huge empty space in between. When I make the screen smalled the top bar with battery and time is too small to be actually readable.
YASSSS HEIC at last
I need google android with all miui features. Stock android is boring. Miui is better. Some mix will be far better. Now i stick with lawnchair launcher and stock icon pack.
del5eted.
Because it’s fugly :DDD
i think it’s a proper document scaner, like the one on wps office
Didnt they had document scanner? I could scan qr, documents and cards even on my redmi 2
Edit: yes I have “scanner” app on my redmi note 4 as well, but now only documents and qr
What features are you talking about?
They won’t. That’s simple to understand. They want the user to upgrade to new Xiaomi phones. If they enabled cam2api then some people wouldn’t consider new phones.
Google made it mandatory to enable cam2api on phones launching with pie. Rn7 came with cam2api with level 3, that’s the complete support. The camera is great. But some phones came after that started coming with cam2api with only full support not level 3, like mi9lite etc where gcams crashes mostly or work partially. May be people started sticking with phones for longer because of gcam and other things. I don’t think they will enable cam2api for phones that doesn’t have it by default. Tech savy users just root and enable. But common people doesn’t. I have seen people swapping phones for cam2api.
You mean copying google shaite, which copied apple/ios shaite? Srsly, It’s impossible to use Android newer than Nougat…
why no Camera Api 2 yet?
You realize MIUI is intentionally made as similar to iOS as possible?
