Thanks, I will hold on for my update then
I previously updated to android 11 and flash back to android 10 because of this.
So the gestures work fine on the stock launcher? I remember that the back to previous apps was removed, (swipe left or right and hold for a bit)
Did it got fixed in the mean time?
Also have a mi10 and I haven’t updated yet because of this issue
idk where the fuck the default MIUI went, did they delete it?
What changes does andriod 11 have? Just ui things or is pefroamnce better too?
Also, TWRP will give issues when flashing miui ota packages. Use orange Fox for fixing this or switch between stock recovery and twrp each time there’s an update.
Most likely the ota downloaded was incomplete or corrupt. Download a fastboot ROM and clean flash using Mi flash if you have unlocked device. Or wipe data by going into recovery mode.
I have updated to latest version…already encountering one problem. When I turn my screen on,the display appears soo washed out on the lock screen but when i unlock it,it gets fine
Xiaomi takes very long to fix bugs/give updates to phones that aren’t even that old. I *STILL* haven’t got MIUI 12.
But I also don’t know about custom roms. Like some sellers may installed it from xda.
bro in my opinion, it’s not just Xiaomi it’s Android in general.. except maybe Google Pixel & few others.
EVEN APPLE’s iPhone… even suffered man.. i don’t think it’s right just to be targeting Xiaomi bro. 👍
I don’t wanna be a beta tester that is too risky with firmware. Software? Sign me up! But firmware. Nononono. Having repaired over 10.000 Smartphones I’ve seen to many bricks in my days and it’s a sad, sad thing.
I remember bricking my iPhone 6 on launch date because of Jailbreak failure xD (i accidentally doubled flashed without re-flashing the iOS) thankfully I had a autorized apple partner next door and had to play stupid. Oh I just rebooted it and it doesn’t wanna start again. And they were like. On launch day! I feel so bad for you! xD
Settings>About Phone>MIUI Version (The box)> 3 dot menu (upper right corner)>Settings>Recive Updates Early.
Done.
I updated and have some problems now. One that I fixed with extreme patience – security was cashing repeatedly and a pop up appeared warning me every two seconds. Another one is about the light, when I use the browser it deactivates the blue light filter, god knows why.
For me, messenger/messages bubbles (default ones from android 11) are having some problems and are not rendered correctly when using dark mode. Otherwise, I can’t see any issues so far. Maybe fingerprint reader takes some more time but not always.
Sacrifice yourself for us
I have issues with global MIUI on Mi 8. Had to factory reset.
Then some apps broke. Theme/wallpaper changed and my usual theme/wallpaper no longer available.
i install this update few hours ago. i do not have any problems yet.
Apple OSX has had the biggest problems i think
Still if you choose to be a beta tester you should be aware of bricking otherwise you should not opt-in to be a beta tester. Beta testing is a whole other subject.
Yes the same happened to me it took me a while to find it
Ok thank you. Repaired 6.000 android phones and never seen it been called anything other than system update. Lol…
Settings -> about phone -> and click on miui version in the left side
A bricked phone doesn’t care if there comes a bug update.
WHERE in settings I’ve been looking everywhere I only find the ‘systems apps updater’ and ‘Google Play system update’ settings.
Yes, you can go for the update. But it’s better to wait a bit.
Pretty much the same situation with Windows in recent years and many other software. Development and testing has gotten sloppy.
What are these swipe gestures. The replacement for home, back and recent apps (etc)? Never had a problem with nova Launcher… Even nova was telling me the same…
Or are there other gestures i am not aware of?
I think it’s a great failing of this company that enthusiasts have to ask each other if it’s safe before installing new software.
Like everyone here is by default suspicious of updates.
Yeah, it’s because it is based on android 11
Are you using global?
I would update it. I trust xiaomi and I’ve never big issues.
I always use global, I don’t know about European or Chinese version of miui.
Absolutely Yes after that again bug update will come 😇
i updated it and works fine, i hope u will get to fix yours
It’s a beta
Bruh 3gb
hodl down power button, then it will boot normal
updated mine and it’s now stuck on the “MIUI” screen, can’t seem to be able to fix it
don’t do it
it’ll most likely get bricked, just like mine
this just shows people don’t read
I recommend you to wait for a week.
And don’t get early updates (change in settings), there is no benifit for getting early updates unless you are a developer or wants so.
They are testing it out. As stated it might not be stable for all. And all apps may not work.
