It was my daily driver for 2.5 years too until I handed it down to my wife. It is still going after so many years. I like the dimension and toughness of it but I didn’t play too many games on it.
They would actually be improving on what apple did so they would be doing a better job than Apple.
Brofist! Do you know who to replace the old CALL and MESSAGE apps for the new ones, from Google Play?
Mi 10se now
Just buy one used. Or Mi8. worse battery, but better camera and build quality.
I was deciding between Mi8 and Mix2s. Everytime I see Mix in pictures I regret not buying it. It looks gorgeous.
it’s a shame. I recommended the mi 9se to my friend, and he loves it. I think it has to do more with the public perception of smaller phones, where they feel bigger=better
I’m hoping for HTC to do the same and relaunch HTC One M8 2020.
Smol phone ftw babyy
I get mine 1yr after the launch, and still killing it 😉
That “news” is a month old, are there any further developments??
I had the same dilemma and I chose the mi 8. Do you think the 2S is now worth 310€?
That would be cool. I did really like my Mi6
They will start to sell REDMI and POCO there…
Yes please, i want a smaller phone
This is clearly satire right
I like this trend of modernizing old small phones with new hardware and design.
They did last year. It didn’t sell well, so they discontinued it. It’s called Mi 9SE
so xiaomi is following what apple did with the iphone se 2?
Redmi 6 PRO?
I dont know if its true, but would look awesome to see this new version of SAGIT
If I waited a month buying a phone I would have gone with Mi9SE. Instead I bought Mi8
So…a completely different phone?
Don’t let Mi6 Support die ❤️
I wanted to buy Mi 9 SE but it was out of stock and import of this phone stopped. I feel like it was ordered in one batch and because the demand wasn’t great stores just quit selling them. I got Redmi Note 7 instead which is bigger and heavier but has a headphone jack.
Rocking mi 6 still, would buy that upgrade
Smaller affordable flagship concept
Check your ROM version :/
I’d totally buy this.
picture me interested. if they release a compact, moderately-spec phone for around 350, they’ll sell it like cookies, IMO.
Only Xiaomi phone used to be Mi8 with OIS have things changed?
No. It was around same price as Mi8. I bought it in May for 330. Mix2s was 350. Two months ago Mi8 sold for 225 where I live in some discounts. I wouldn’t buy new Mix2s for more than 270 now.
mi8 still is a very compelling option. me personally due to very tight budget had to get a redmi note 7. I think if they gave a smaller alternative to every “important” phone they make and kept supporting the idea, sales would eventually come in. but oh well a man can only dream.
What ROM are you using now? 🙂
I’m in
But xiaomi, i hope you’ll put an amoled display in every device from now on (the mi note 10 lite looks dope though)
No surprises here.
I prefer my MI6 to my K20 Pro, if this happens with a better telephoto (amoled too ho ho) I’m having a field day!
if you still have it: [https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5s/development/rom-pixel-experience-t4020747](https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5s/development/rom-pixel-experience-t4020747)
Iirc xperia compact is as big as iphone new se
Since I bought my first bluetooth earphones I haven’t missed iphone jack. Im not too demanding on music quality so I dont care. If I cared, there is always the dongle.
Xiaomi SE
How is it holding up? I’m thinking about getting a 2S by the end of 2020
If only it were the Mi 5s. That phone was my daily for three years, and honestly felt to me like the perfect phone.
In Amazon Spain it’s on sale [https://www.amazon.es/Xiaomi-Smartphone-Pantalla-Qualcomm-Snapdragon/dp/B07QMYX86G](https://www.amazon.es/Xiaomi-Smartphone-Pantalla-Qualcomm-Snapdragon/dp/B07QMYX86G) and in many other Spanish shops.
Not really. Apple was lazy with iphone se2. Should have made it full screen… Wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole…
I bought the Mi 9SE and it’s wonderful. Powerful enough and comfortable size.
18:9
except according to render this is going to be a real modernization. it will have new specs with an old body, not an old phone with a new cpu…
I have one lol.
If they released a 5.5″ flagship, I would buy it. Period. There really is a lack of such devices. The S10e was a great example. I almost bought one, but they fill their devices with so much bloatware and there is no way to replace the OS.
Sure, Mi8 is great device. Mix2s just looks better for me. I won’t be changing soon.
Maybe its time to look for a CUSTOM ROM or trying to do a CLEAN INSTALL…
I want this. Small full screen Xiaomi
Ironically Mi 6 was the first smartphone with which Xiaomi stopped selling the Mi line-up of phones in India and has given in to the OnePlus till this date!
I’ve decided that Mi 9 SE is good enough in the absence of better options (S10e is slightly shorter but was much more expensive). But I’ve heard they are out of stock now, with no replacement model I think.
Mi mix 3 is going for 280e on aliexpress
It’s a different phone, this is the MI6 not the Redmi 6
Tbh I’m okay with that. Copying what’s good of other companies and not copying what’s bad.
So mi6 with decent (maybe main sensor of redmi note 9s?) Camera, Snapdragon 765, 3500-3800mAh (big battery, but not too thick/much modifications) will sell like hotcakes
Just looked it up and got a flashback to all the phones having additional black borders around their screens. Don’t miss those times 🙈🙉🙊
no
Hi.my mi 9T pro not update to miui11.!!!!!why??😞😞
How would Xiaomi folow Apple if they take the Mi 6 design and modernize it?
In terms design at least, Xioami has been a leader not a follower. Even Xiaomi’s cheaper low end phones look nicer than the SE.
They should just re-release poco with better display and body.. I won’t even mind using 845
Unfortunately, I sold it a year ago. Now using Mi Mix 2S with global android 10 ROM 🙂
i dont like mix 3 design especially sliding mechanism. I’d rather buy K20/pro
Yeah I looked for it this morning and I can’t find the Mi 9 se on AliExpress. Looking forward to this smaller phone from xiaomi if the rumors are the true.
I guess we all get inspiration in other brands.
Double CAM and their position? AHAH
tbh all Chinese phone companies just follow what apple does, and sometime what Samsung does
YESSSS, I want a compact phone again omg. I love my redmi note 7 but I always promised myself I wouldn’t get a phone bigger than 5.5 and now look at me LOL.
I wanna go back to when I thought the Xiaomi mi2s was the best phone ever T\_T I love that size.
What? Mi5 had ois, and other phones too
Typing this on my mi 6.
I love mine. I got it when they came out and haven’t had any issues.
The mi 6’s primary camera has ois too!
5.5″ is still too big for one hand operation, i want something as small as iphone 5s, with full screen display, small notch or teardrop
The iphone SE is not a small phone. It has a small screen but the body is very large. It’s not comparable to Iphone SE first generation or xperia compact phones
I don’t think so. 730 is plenty powerful.
I wonder if they put flagship chipset would it sold better
Nice point of view AHAH
This is just another rumor, so, lets wait and see 🙂
>small phones
Yeah, and this is the part I like the most
I change from MIUI to Lineage OS 17.1 (Android 10), and its even smoother, and the battery last long 🙂
But, if XIAOMI release beta updates until the next MIUI, i will return to it.
New “design” lol.
I’m talking about the iPhone SE btw
I’d totally buy this.
I love the rear design of the Mi6, the way theres no camera bump makes it so unique these days
Give it those flat sides, a decent battery and a popup camera and I wouldn’t even pay much attention to the price
Keep the 16:9 display
I upgraded to the Mi 9T Pro, which I also love, because pop-up camera! woo!
Mine is holding up great! I’m using it for over a year now and still haven’t bought a new phone. Since I got it for €280, I wouldn’t pay more for one
