The most stupid thing ever
Love the flair!
My global note 5 had to wait for 15 days.
Yup, same here. Bought a Redmi 5 recently, seemed like a good budget idea once flashed, was ready to wait out the two week unlock time, but oh my surprise when I saw 1440 hours.
EDIT: It’s down to one month now (aka 720 hours). Hope it at least counts down from that normally now.
When did they say they recently bought the A1?
/u/matterwitu
I call BS on that. The stores that eff-up ROMs are still doing so regardless of the delays imposed on end users. It’s more of a convenient excuse for a company that advertises itself (to investors) as a “software and internet services company” rather than a damn good hardware manufacturer — if you don’t run their MIUI with those internet services pre-installed, their whole business model (as advertised) just collapses.
Pepperidge Farm remembers!
No.
No no no no no no no no no no no no.
You don’t get to put out poco and then do this bs.
No.
No no no no!
I downloaded another version of mi unlock tool and it halved to 720 hours so you might try that. https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/8mfgor/for_anyone_having_trouble_bypassing_the_360hr/
This mostly happens when the tool think you’re spamming their servers. Just create a new account and try with that.
So now the unlocking time is 1 month, not 15 days?
Doubt so, plus Xiaomi at some point just restricts the versions of mi unlock you can actually use.
you get 1440Hour + another 1440 hours
Lol didn’t notice the comment was sarcastic, makes sense. And thanks, I finally caught my cakeday!
Strange thing with my account, all my devices unlocked instantly
– redmi note 4x (3 of them)
– mi mix 2
– mi Max 3
– redmi note 5 (sd636)
They were all CN sets bought in China with China room when unlocked, would that make a difference?
Even a week was too much. Thankfully, now I have A1. It’s easy.
i would forget it after 2 months if this shi would appear to me
And that picture…goes nicely with the caption as well.
Remember when they stopped the delay altogether a few months ago bc people complained ? good times… It’s 60 days now ?! wtf
Very strange. I wonder if people with a long unlock have Global versions.
Hope yours Doesn’t Reset like mine xD. mine reset to 720Hours again. What should i do now ?
By the way i haven’t tried any bypassing thing
But they dont approve them manually anymore…its automatic
I thought you just bought it :p still a solid phone, have 1 too
Oops my bad. But this is official unlocking time from now on?
I certainly hope it is 360 hours as before, excruciating as it is.
Remember when wait time was 3 days?
Pepperidge Farm remembers
I want to know too. I bought a redmi 5+ about a month ago from gearbest and I havent had any issue at all with getting locked out of my phone. Am I at risk here?
Will return my phone, as it is defective for me now!
Remember when there was no bootloader lock on mi devices?
Considering [how fast the Poco F1 sells](https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/9bkrpa/xiaomi_sells_poco_f1_units_worth_rs_2_billion) and that unlock requests are manually approved, I feel like this shouldn’t be a huge surprise. Still sucks tho.
Unlocking your bootloader allow you to flash custom roms, essential changing the phones os. For example if you don’t like miui you could get your bootloader unlocked and then flash something like LineageOS that provides pretty much stock Android with a few additional options to enhance the experience.
Xiaomi use to let us unlock the bootloader without waiting but then they changed the process and required people to wait 72 hours after linking your phone to your mi account. Then they changed to wait time to 360 hours (2 weeks) and now apparently they’ve changed it to 1440 hours (2 months). This decision comes off the heels of Huawei no longer allowing people to unlock their bootloader at all and releasing the Poco F1 source code which is required to make good device optimized roms. Dev support was one of the highlight selling points for the Poco but I doubt too many people are going to be willing to wait 2 months to unlock.
But the A2 and the A2 lite just hit the stores (not that much of a performance diff, but still) ??
I think it’s still a pretty good idea to just try to unlock the moment you got the phone even if you have no intentions on flashing anything in the first place.
At least when the time comes when you do need to fiddle with the system, you have one less thing to worry about. The timer of when you’re allowed to unlock the phone starts the moment you attempt at unlocking it after all.
kek
No it’s 360hrs only.
Started the unlock process on my Mix 2s a couple of days ago, unlock software said 360 hours so unless it changed yesterday it’s still 15 days.
If you downloaded another one, would you have it down to 360 hours?

Still got both!
Then why even bother releasing the Poco F1 kernel sources?
Lol, I’ve seen two people unlocking their devices without waiting time and for one person it showed 360hrs initially but then he tried to do something and it gone up to 720hrs and then finally to 1040hrs. 😂
Nah. This A1 is old. Earlier I had RN3.
Excuse me what the fuck
Can you explain to me what is this? I haven’t used a xiaomi before

jebus! what a time!
This only happens because some stores fu\*\*\*\* the rom -.-
Why are they doing this?
so only china roms can unlock instantly?
I bought my Mix 2 in China and unlocked there, it took a couple minutes.
Question: is that really efective against thieves want to wipe the phone straight after they stolen?
Mine were purchased there and shipped to me via a forwarder, so all of them were unlocked outside of China though,
Still don’t understand why some accounts can unlock devices with no wait time(not complaining though)
Grats on you hitting the jackpot too!
works for me!
The broken English really ties it together well.
You knowit’s funny I had intentions of doing that before I recieved the phone, but after about a day I really enjoyed the miui. Glad to know I avoided a 2 month long unlock process. That is just bonkers to me.
1440 hours is 2 months
lol, wrong type of lock. Unlocking your bootloader allow you to flash custom roms, essential changing the phones os. For example if you don’t like miui you could get your bootloader unlocked and then flash something like LineageOS that provides pretty much stock Android with a few additional options to enhance the experience.
Hahaha. Yeah. It’s pretty good! Last update was kinda messed up. Cell reception problem is there. But mostly good. Went back to Feb/Apr update.
