Xiaomi goes from strength to strength: 73% annual growth in Europe, bigger than Samsung in India, and prepping the 108 MP Mi Note 10 for the Indian market.

But still no affect on stock price and still no buyback
In India if a Xiaomi ringtone is playing in public 5 or 6 people check their phones thinking it’s theirs.
My first smartphone ever was a Xiaomi Redmi 4X in 2017, i read about Xiaomi online and how insane their price/perfomance was and i said fuck it and bought it, people would laugh at me for paying for “a chinese phone” but i was pretty confident, and boy did it pay off, i stayed with it for 2 years, i dropped it a lot, i used it for like 4 months without a case because the brand wasn’t as present in my country and i couldn’t for the life of my find a case for that specific phone, so i had to bite the bullet and buy a case online because the aluminum back was starting to scratch, but beyond that, that phone never failed, the battery lasted the whole day, the quality of the screen was superior to other phones of similar prices and damn that phone is sturdy, it has all the edges kind of “bent” of all the times i dropped it but the screen never cracked, not even one bit. I had it until 2 months ago when i gave it to my little sister because i wasn’t capable of selling it, and then i bought a Mi 9T, and my experience with it has been even better, because it feels even more premium than the 4X and it’s been a fantastic phone so far.
*Outstanding move!*
Still waiting for that moment when everyone around me will stop asking “what is that” when I tell them which brand my smartphone is. But now situation is a lot better than few years ago
I don’t get asked that often but it happens on occasion, nobody’s ever heard of Xiaomi in Norway though sadly.
He said battery life on that phone is bad. When he was purchasing he checked batery health and it was somewhere between 80-90% but its already small battery to begin with.
What about the new M30s?
MIUI is good except ads and data sharing(also some bloat like mi video and mi music)
Told everybody on 2015 this is going to be an important company, got ridiculed. What now bitches?
I also bought my mom a Redmi Note 7, but if you have the budget, I think also Huawei and Samsung make great phones
Agreed. They need to do that in America as well
Thats take time. If someone will tell you that he own bike like Kawasaki or something like that, almost everyone know that brand who even dont know anything about bikes, you know that its quality brand and you know how to pronounce it cause you can hear it a lot. Xiaomi indeed is a bit different because of first X, but still
And as well 50% of people doesnt pronounce Lamborghini correctly, at least in my native language, but everyone know that brand no matter how you’ll pronounce it.
That’s.. Actually a great strategy!
Funny you mention the A70, I’m working here in Mumbai for 6 months and my iPhone died so wanted a temporary replacement for a few months until I get can home and have a warranty repair. Anyway I went for an A70 when it had just come out and it was such a horrendous experience after just a few days using it I sold it for about half the price in cash, and bought a Redmi K20 Pro!! Waaaaay better.
Samsung bloatware in India is even worse than in Europe, there seems to be zero restrictions they just go absolutely insane to the point the phone heats up and becomes unusable.
In theatres like PVR, they literally play xiaomi ringtone so that people will try to reach to their phone and then advice them to put it on silent mode.
Show Me
Best way to get people to remember the brand is to tell them to say, “Show Me”. As in, Show me the money….from all the savings instead of buying other rival brands.
What western phone brand?
It just me or Mi Note 10 is much beautiful than most Xiaomi phone.
My colleague teased me on that also lol. Btw I was on coffee today and my friend says his cousin that got used iPhone 10. for almost double price 2 months ago is salty how better Mi 9t is. But he admits that he got iPhone just cuz its iPhone and for attention, at least he is honest I guess.
It’s pretty laggy. Comparing it to my RN7 Pro, it drops frames a lot and is generally slower, despite using UFS 2.0 storage.
Dutch people love a bargain and are historically early adopters of new brands so Xiaomi is getting shelf space in all the stores now. Samsung is still number one though.
Go for the Mi A series then. Stock android for life
I’ve used Xiaomis since 2014 and genuinely had no one ask me anything about my phones or the brand. I guess people don’t pay much attention to other people’s phone brands anymore.
My friend bought Redmi Note 5 a year ago and when i heard the brand i was suspicious. It’s perfect for it’s price. I decided to replace my old shitty Sony Xperia J with Xiaomi. First i wanted to buy Mi 8 Lite. Then i looked at RN 7. Almost the same specs but RN 7 has better battery, lens and gorrilla glass. I bought RN 7 4 months ago and i’m really happy with it. Camera is way up and basic mask can’t cover it so i scratched the glass a little but sensor isn’t dammaged.
The only people who buy iPhones anore are some hippies and some status conscious Indians.
I really wish it helps their stock price. It’s been taking a beating since it IPO’ed…
When they see something new they will, like the mi 9 SE format with the triple lens and the rainbow circle around the ultra wide camera is something a lot of people never seen before and they like it.
Someone give this guy a “Medal”
They are a Chinese company though who make their profits world wide, wouldn’t have thought the location of listing would make much difference
Oh please, not this BS propaganda.
I am starting to turn these pesants (joking) around me and making them learn that Xiaomi is great company. My uncle from Germany wanted Huawei because it’s popular there, I made him get Xiaomi. One college who isn’t in tech asked for advice, guess what Xiaomi for him. Other one I made him sell his A50 who he bought as soon as it came out for Mi 9t. My friend wanted iPhone only and had money for iPhone 8, boom 9t for him to. They are all more then satisfied. Now I am trying to convince the bartender at my regular place who is thick headed Samsung fanboy to get Xiaomi this time.
In Indonesia, Oppo, Vivo, and realme lead the market…. Xiaomi can do better, but they seems half hearted
Man, hats off to you. I am doing same here convincing people.
Yup Samsung was the top gun in midrange level 5 years back but now Mi is the new Mid range Master.hope they keep this up and not slip up like Samsung
I’m in love with Xiaomi products.
No wonder they will grow more and more.
Why has their share price halved in the last year then
I’ve had a couple people ask about my mi mix 2s, when nobody ever has about previous phones.
Not suprised, Samsung is ludicrously overpriced in India, even the phones made locally, and their quality has gone down the drain in the past year, I’ve had far better build quality from Xiaomi just without the brand name… Plus it’s nice to see “made locally in India” stickers on many of the Xiaomi products I buy here in Mumbai.
Sometimes Samsung might appear better spec wise at first glance, but a few updates and bloatware dumps later and the phones run slow as a dead donkey with battery lives to match.
del5eted.
Well Germans, Koreans, Americans, Poles they all pronounce Samsung differently.
Simple pronunciation is a problem with English, not just with the word itself – because in English one must know how to pronounce a word to do it correctly. Just knowing the letters won’t do in English.
“read” is different for present and past tense even though it’s the same set of letters. That’s just outrageous.
[I mean FFS, guys.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ammExaeGqFg) People be complaining German is difficult, while I say it’s the easiest I know of.
Yaa Samsung is doing crap with their midrange devices
But the reviews are positive. Why not? They seem to have learned from their mistakes when they launched J series phones.
I’ve already converted 5 people into Xiaomis.
One of them just saw my new Mi9T and immediately decided to get one.
I have nothing against them but I just think most of the time you can get best value for money from Xiaomi, and biggest problem about it are ads in MIUI wich is easily dealt with in my opinion.
Best phone Ive ever had. For a decent price.
Really low margins and Chinese companies trade at a discount compared to their American/more well known peers. Also, the lock up expiration after the IPO. I have like a couple hundred bucks in shares I bought like a week ago. I wanna add to my position, I feel like it can get to IPO prices at any moment. The company is valued right now at less than 1 year revenues. And they keep growing fast. Imo, I think one of these days the stock will suddenly shoot up. The only thing that I’m wary about is the fact that the company is already valued at 27 billion USD, which is not small number by any means.
Aren’t all shares in Hong Kong stock market crashing?
