Xiaomi Android 12 update list includes over 70 Mi, Redmi, POCO, and Black Shark smartphones but there’s bad news for Mi 9T and Redmi K20 Pro owners

at this point i dont think people will be looking forward to any updates from xiaomi as they always produce more problems than improve on previous versions
What a wierd article.
1. Have not recieved Android 11
2. Have not recieved an update in 2 months
And now I wont get Android 12… How “sad”?
Tbf I really could not care less, next phone wont be a bugfull (miui) Xiaomi
EU rom user here.
Edit: not even security updates, atleast 2 months (sec patch from 1. April)
lol, Redmi 9T and Redmi 9 Prime was really the same, and they put on both the will and wont list, what are they smoking!?
Only the Global getting screwed over, the china version was fast on fixing bugs and stuffing new things.
So the “devices which won’t get Android 12” list means that they will never ever get Android 12?
I have the eu version and my security patch is from 01 march :/
Do you have a vendor ROM?
What phone do you have?
I do have original Xiaomi eu rom, the same one that came on the phone, when I bought it.
I am lot going to put a different rom on it. Because I wanted to get the Xiaomi experience.
Now I know it’s not for me, But i’ll use the phone as long as it’ll last.
Xiaomi.eu or MIUI for EEA region?
Mi 9t pro
[Yes](https://i.postimg.cc/2SwmhnB4/IMG-20210705-155908.jpg)
Come to LineageOS fellow Mi9t users! It shits all over miui and gets weekly updates.
Do you have EEA ROM? Global ROM received Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 recently
MIUI pushing me away again, Lineage is always a option if they go official with the Rapheal devices. DotOS, LegionOS and Pixel Experience as well.
Xiaomi.eu custom or EEA official firmware
Xiaomi.eu users got Android 11 + MIUI 12.5 in a single update (same as China official firmware)
I have a Redmi Note 8 Pro, Global version and didn’t get the 12.5 update, why?
EDIT: I checked and it seems the update will come soon.
More clickbait posts! It says “unofficial list”
I don’t really care anymore about this stuff with my mi 9t pro because I’m on a custom ROM
At least not from xiaomi directly, you should be able to install Android 12 custom ROMs once they are available
Why does the Mi Note light get it, but not the normal and pro version? Like that makes 0 sense
Funny is that the Redmi Note 8T, still didn’t got Android 11…
Bought on Amazon Germany:
Mi 9T Pro
MIUI Global 12.0.5.0 QFKEUXM
SecurityPatch 2021-04-01
No Android 11/MIUI 12.5 available for me
App banks and investment app work on this custom room?
My phone half the apps don’t work, is noticably slower load times and several other features that are just annoying (like the new pull down screen)
Kind of sad the mi 8 and mix 3 aren’t on the list at all. They’re 3 year old devices with flagship hardware that would have no trouble running android 12, but Mi is just too lazy to out the work in.
Same, on a base 9T EU bought straight from the official site.
Custom rom here i come, and it’s my first and last xiaomi
Tried for 4 hours to get it working it didn’t
No, they have not gotten it in Europe
Global eu.
No still 12.0.5, last security update in april.
Xiaomi is really inconsistent
I should not have to use anything different than the original, to get updates or benefits.
Using Gcam, cause stock cam sucks.
I use nfc payments alot, costum ROM would f that up. Tried.
China, Global and Xiaomi.eu got 12.5 with Android 11
Only EEA and Russia didn’t get it
Mine did work with 5 mins of work.
Xiaomi.eu 4theWin June security patch
I had an issue when connecting it to my computers USB3 port. Tried with USB2 and it worked.
And yes the updates are quite bad, but not as bad as LG, when they were still producing phones.
Mine is Mi9 EU and still miui 12.0.5 and android 10 :-/
I have a Mi 10 and getting Android 12. As soon as my update period is done, going to look for another ROM to flash. I don’t hate MIUI, but really don’t like it much either. There has to be something better.
Ah well, I use EvoX on Mi 9T Pro, using NFC payments all the time so
Mostly agree with you. I run one of the earlier Xiaomi.eu ROMs after the newest MIUI update 12.5 and that’s all I cared about (Mi 9T here).
I don’t have a need to look for new updates until MIUI 13 or something. The things android updates bring are generally in custom skins like MIUI already.
Go for an aosp rom man. Mi 9t has tons of official custom roms.
Even Mi 9 isn’t on the list. That’s nuts
Mi 9 isn’t on the “getting it” list. I plan on switching to pixel experience once the android 12 based rom is available anyway.
Just give me android 11 and I’m happy
i don’t care about A12, i hope Mi9T and Note 8/Pro will get MIUI 13
By isn’t on the list I meant it literally wasn’t on it anywhere. Xiaomi is like “That’s such an ancient device, it’s not even worth mentioning that 3 year old crap”. But yea, the Mi 9 should definitely get the android 12 update. It’s literally 2 generations old. I wish Samsung offered better hardware for the money (and a Snapdragon variant in Europe).
I’ve got a 9T and it works just fine as is. No big loss
Pffft Xiaomi is becoming less and less of a favorite – having to wait weeks to be able to unlock the bootloader and now this… I guess I will have to settle for a stupid camera notch in my screen at some point then
Same as Mi9T Pro.
China and Global got 12.5 with Android 11
Does Fingerprint reader work when screen is off?
Hard pass. I installed it when I first got the phone and it ended up permanently breaking stuff, which I was then told that I should have known ahead of time because it was discussed in a single post on page 200 of the XDA thread. Ain’t nobody got time to read every thread on every board everywhere before installing your broken rom!
I went to LineageOS on my 9T after i started getting problem in MIUI, i will never go back. All my older phones are also lineageos. Only missing Google pay, tried everything i could find, never was able to get nfc payments up. looks like it detects the unlocked bootloader. everything else works fine tho.
if you enable always on display, yes.
Slightly incorrect. Global is getting screwed over **more** than China version. China version is still fucked. Really waiting on custom ROMs for my 11 ultra. I really like miui and it’s little features but damn… It’s a hot bed of bugs right now that causes heating and battery life issues.
It will be one of those updates… Bugs, bugs and more bugs.
You don’t need AOD in other roms
I have a mi note 10 lite. It’s kinda confusing what “may” means when the premium versions of this phone aren’t getting Android 12. This phone was released in May 2020 so it’s a year old but not that old to be excluded from the list.
I’m using pixel experience and nfc payments work fine (gpay)
does Poco F2 Pro have support for LineageOS?
kinda waiting for it
The only app that would not work is BHIM UPI. Lord knows how but that app has a good method of detecting rooted devices.
I would beg to differ. True that Chinese ROM also has a few bugs but it’s much better than any Global ROM out there. Plus there’s Xiaomi.eu’s weekly ROM which I’m currently using. There’s an update every Saturday which fixes most of the bugs.
Bro, even if your warranty is void, do you think the folks at Xiaomi can help you with any kind of troubleshooting? Hell naww!
I’ve already void my warranty and switched to EU weekly because i know for a fact that Xiaomi support ain’t gonna do shit if anything goes sideways within warranty.
Ugh. Tough luck there mate. Although, i suppose you should be able to get a PixelPlusUI rom. I’m sure that would be much cleaner than the current MIUI.
How are updates installed on that ROM? I’ve been waiting for a good time to reset my phone and get a fresh start with a new ROM but haven’t had the time to understand the update process for any of them.
Can’t deny the fact that things started going downhill since 12.0.2. Funny how big of a difference of opinion a single update can create.
Updates are through OTA. Believe me when i say, i was stuck with a buggy 12.0.2 for around 3 months or so without any news about 12.5 on Global. The day I switched to EU weekly 12.6 is when 12.5 released on Pilot testing for 10t pro. Some may say i might regret voiding the warranty but funny fact, I don’t. Weekly bug fixes and improvement is far better than waiting months together to get simple bugs addressed.
Yall mfs are srsly crying because an UNOFFICIAL list tells you that your phone won’t get A12?
Which ROM should i use for POCO X3?
I was on Global Stable and change to Xiaomi.eu Weekly Beta, so, yeah that may be a thing.
It’s not even 1 year support for Redmi 9. What a mess.
Yes they do , just use magisk to get things running
I have a particular dislike for people who don’t warn others of potential pitfalls or gloss over issues. With the same token, xda is full of these elitists that like you said want you to walk through the swamp of comments to find one tiny bit of info that is vital or pertinent to what you’re trying to do. If their search didn’t suck then it wouldn’t be somewhat palatable.
They probably have a sizable overlap with the Linux community which is insufferable and up themselves.
Xiaomi produce currently more phones that they can (or want to) support.
Poco f1 is again underestimated…
Guys I updated my phone (Xiaomi redmi 9) recently and it just doesn’t work as it used to in the previous version. Some features on some apps work differently and more clunky now. Some options got removed, etc. I don’t know what is causing it but my guess is the recent update. Is there a way to revert back or just any way to bring back old functionality?
So it’s all built in and automagic? That is great to know. I haven’t messed with ROMs since my Nexus 5 days and it wasn’t so refined back then.
Thanks for the info. I’ll give it a go sometime when I’ve got a few hours to screw around.
