Ok thank you for the info.
I was expecting the Mi9 to be there but nope. It’s the Mi6. Which for some reason gets a shitload of attention from the Xiaomi devs.
I’ve read over them yet again and nothing you said was out of order / breaking any rule.
Seems that passion runs high here when you elaborate on your opinion too much which is a bloody shame.
I saw an article that stated it comes in October.
I have to apologise to you for not getting to some of these users calling you names quicker.
Our bad.
I live in Romania, I have set up the device by selecting Romania and I have gotten ads.
In the gimmicky app that displays after you install an app in google play store, I was getting ads at the bottom of the app. In a folder with facebook (which btw, /r/android was extremely furious with Samsung over a placeholder facebook app, they would probably tear xiaomi a new one for installing the latest facebook app and it’s manager as well). The browser had ads on the literal front page. The security app had ads (this one blew my mind). The music app had ads… And I believe another 1-2 had ads well. I was able to disable them.
I want to take this moment to apologize for my rudeness. I was just baffled at how people got really emotional and comments sounded dumber and dumber.
Mix 2S, Mi 6? What the fuck?
How can you possibly release a huge operating system by mistake?
I have owned the Mi 9. I don’t know how bad must your english be to not understand what I said. The Mi 6, a 2 year old device gets MIUI 11 and monthly updates while the Mi 9 is 2-3 months behind and still lacks quite a fair bit of updates.
I liked the Mi 9 a lot, I would’ve kept it for the next 2 years easily but I got ghost touch after 2 weeks which got severely worse after another week (a lot of random touches on the whole display by 3rd week, I was literally sharing random stuff or the phone would lock up because of the spam of actions).
The phone was really slow with updates. The last update I got said the phone got Pocket Mode and I have searched every single menu in the settings. NOWHERE did I find the Pocket Mode. This was a dumb fake feature update. Not only that, the ads were atrocious. I had to turn them off in any app I used that was made by Xiaomi.
Xiaomi in contrast with other companies right now is doing a very bad job at keeping their phones updated. They release a ton of models, barely give a shit about them (with them almost immediately lacking updates) and meanwhile, the Mi 6 gets monthly updates and apparently MIUI 11 with Android Q. It’s plainly put stupid.
And no matter if you’re a brainless Xiaomi fanboy who downvotes any comment that doesn’t straight up kiss their ass, Xiaomi lacks a lot in this department. I mean, a lot.
Who said Mi6 got android Q? It’s just MIUI 11 pre release build. Maybe not even android O. Also I get new updates often on my Mi9, but I own the European version.
Any links for the pre-release?
I’m getting downvoted because it’s what weakminded fanboys or “you just gotta tinker with your phone” people get offended over facts.
And I would have understood the downvotes if I were to be a random hater. But I actually owned the Mi 9 for a short while and I had a pretty terrible case of ghost touch with it and the software updates were just flatout mediocre and I was 3 months behind. I was getting April security patch updates in July…
I agree with this. Xiaomi is really odd with how they prioritize their devices…
The Redmi Note 5 Pro beta builds usually have all the features, whereas other devices don’t (ex. Settings re-organization, launcher search bar etc…)
Is any news about a new Mi Max model ?
Yes, I’m sure thay have a publish new OS button lying around.
Xiaomi is a joke company phone wise sadly.
The Mi 6 gets for some odd, unknown reason SO MUCH ATTENTION software wise. And the Mi 9 not only lacks a lot of features, is extremely poor in the updates department.
“I just accidentally the whole OS update lol”
It’s alright. I also apologize if some of my comments went too far or felt attacking.
I was just angry at the fact that everybody went over the fact that while I’m calling Xiaomi a bad company for phones, I call their phones stellar.. lol. I owned one and loved it for crying out loud… until it broke just 2 weeks after buying it.
It’s the date
\*Military’s Missile Guidance personnel acting aloof \*
Lol
Yes, I was explaining that the next update 9.9.10 was actually a downgrade back to MIUI10.
How am I being wrong? This whole subreddit moans over the fact that Xioami launches a ton of devices and offer virtually 0 care for older devices. Nobody expects the heavens and earth for 300 bucks. That is a fact.
And your argument is just plainily invalid. The moment you have to “tinker with a phone to make it work” after you paid a sum of money, it’s officially a bad device. If Samsung for example needed “tinkering with the phone”, people would go insane. Literally you’d see people rage left right.
Congratulations for the ignorant, stupid point of view. I am talking about the vanilla device. The device people buy, not the device you randomly chose to make yourself. If somebody today were to buy the phone, they’d get a disappointing experience. And if you expect every tech illiterate person to randomly learn how to unlock bootloaders and flash roms and recoveries I’m sorry but you’re just another dumb fanboy who tries very hard to make the company sound good, efficient and like a literal savior.
Imagine buying a car, let’s say a Dacia car which is known internationally for being very cheap. And then you’d have to wait 15 days to unscrew the engine and change a lot of parts of it just to have it work properly. THAT IS YOUR COMMENT. That is how petty and entitled you sound and it’s amazing you think I’m salty for no reason. I don’t care about downvotes. If it were by me, make a sticky on the damned group and have me reach -100K on a single comment. I’d keep it up because it’s a fact:
Xioami is a joke phone company. Their devices are stellar for the price but the software support is rubbish and for some odd reason old, dated devices get a lot of love (Mi 6) while newer flagship material phones don’t (Mi 9). Period. Stop telling people “bruh, u shud like, rom it cuz u gotta tinker with the phone to make it work”. That’s a stupid solution that barely 1 to 2% of all the phone users of the brand can make it happen. It’s fucked out of the box – it’s fucked, period.
Xda, i think is the answer
Xiaomi releases newest MIUI to all their phones. They have the best software support for many years. I think you have the wrong idea about Xiaomi.
same I have the K20 Pro
Well, a button in a manner of speaking…
It’s far easier than you think. Pushing a closed beta/alpha to release channel accidentally, select the wrong image and Robert is a monkey’s uncle. Or something…
any screenshots?………
I don’t have miui but I have on on here somewhere you can disable the feature that causes that
\* **accidentally** \*
Ya in the article linked in the OP
“The millions of people who their products”
Yeah… and the subreddit is heavily favoring them albeit all the issues that are popping up.
Oh well. Some people decide to get offended over it, some don’t. I owned the Mi9. It was an amazing phone and sadly, at the same time, it was the worst experience I have gotten to date with a smartphone even though I’ve owned at least 10 other models before the Mi9.
I don’t know why people got so sensitive over the fact that I said “Xiaomi is a joke company phone wise”. Nobody paid attention to the second line where I said the Mi9 lacks features and gets updates very late while the Mi 6 gets such an update.
push the wrong button 😉
100% correct. I did not expect this as most other companies make these skins available on the most recent version of Android.
Still, the Mi 6 getting MIUI 11 and the Mi 9 still being on 10.2 is an issue no matter how you look at the problem itself.
Sadly… I’m just glad I’m not the type who cares about upvotes/downvoted.
I’m just sad that it feels as if anything stating a negative regarding Xiaomi can be put down just because of no proper reason.
Edit: Thanks once again for the help, sorry for the ruckus.
It’s not an accident. It’s for free hype and marketing. Publications love reporting “leaks”
I hope to see a better ram management on Miui because miui still has the worse ram management of all android device. I want something like Android aosp, you know, ram management that I can leave opens apps in background without close after turn off the screen or while I’m not using it to use other app like social medias, games etc. I really like the Miui but ram management is the worst of all.
Sad to see you downvoted.
I agree, you can just look how far behind the stable builds are for mi9 with xiaomi.eu builds. It’s sad mi mix 2s gets a lot more builds than their flagship despite being an older phone.
I wish Xiaomi fixes up, I own mi9t and update wise on xiaomi.eu, mi9t is falling behind mi9tpro
Wonder when it’s coming for MI9t.
