Xiaomi 8, went to 0% (apps & hardware show 100% usage) but when charged shot up to 46%. Unsure how to proceed.

Oh matter of concern then!
It’s perfect for battery, modern polimer batteries can be charged (0-100%) around 1000 times. If you charge it at 20%, then you haven’t used that one charge cycle, but 80% of it. To most devices rule is: device will become obsolete faster than its components. Again, there can always be faulty devices, up to 3% of faulty devices is acceptable, usually Huawei, Xiaomi, Samsung… Have better components, maybe 0,3-0,5% are faulty devices.
Google Lens app? Or Gcam tool? Not much came up. There may be some restriction on my phone
what is ur avrage SOT?
I also use a mi 8 but it looks completely different
Any chance you’re a heavy user and/or used it in harsh environments (temperature below 0 C) and/or kept it at 100% overnight? My two year old MI 8 holds at 90% original capacity based on AccuBattery and has no issues whatsoever. I used quick charge every day, never left it plugged in overnight, except for when driving (for Android Auto).
Do you have custom kernel? It’s sometimes the problem
different fonts and interface, but not far off
Ideally, modern polimer batteries should be charged when betwen half and 80%, up to full. Bare in mind, that means without using phone while charging. As we don’t live in perfect world, none of us can accomplish this. Batteries degrade when used in cold or hot enviroment, when emptied and from similar issues. Until something new comes up, we’re stuck with these less than perfect, but good enough energy accumulators.
Just recalibrate your battery by draining your battery to zero and recharge to full and then draining again 3 times. Usually this issue cause by degrading battery. Otherwise, I recommend you to find battery replacement.
What does the non Chinese one look like? It was MIUI 10, I’ve updated now but it doesn’t look too different. I thought I had the global version (needed to run Google Services in China)… If not I might want to swap.
Battery is failing.
buH nroP
Seems like MIUI problem. Same thing happened to mine note 7. After switching to new kernel, new firmware, and new OS problem seems to be gone
Its a “FLAGSHIP” that’s barely over 1 year old. You gotta be joking right?
Probably mi 8
This. I used to get that same problem when flashing firmware, etc.
That’s a MiUI11 problem every single person is having right now. But I’ve heard it only goes like 2-3% an hour, 8% is a ton
I have a mi 8 with gcam in it. Nobody can compete with my camera, everyone compliments the video quality and the photos.
However, if I want to send a 60 fps video to someone, be it Messenger or Whatsapp, the quality gets destroyed. That’s the only con.
Maybe he was searching the battery problem
Google camera. It’s 10x better than the stock camera app.
I thought I shouldn’t let it go below 20% :v
I plugged it into as empty power bank (xiaomi brand aswell) briefly and it went up to 46%
Im using it now and it’s on charge in an outlet, but it’s not gone above 37%. I’m turning it off for the night and will figure it out tomorrow.
I woke up and my phone had gone down to 6%. Plugged it in and it started charging again, so I think it was something along these lines. Thank you!
Nah that’s just Chinese miui.
You can reset your phone after backing everything up. It’s also good to know you shouldn’t use your phone much while its charging and don’t make it hit 0%.
Are u still on Miui 10? Do u have any mods
Give your device a full discharge. Then a full charge.
It might fix the calibration issue
No mods, and I didn’t even realise MIUI was on 11 now! I thought all the updates were automatic and have been updating regularly. How did I miss a key thing like that?! Updating it now.
No way that’s a mi 8. Or if it is that’s very outdated software
It seems like an uncalibrated battery to me, or maybe it was an unintended mistake in the system that requires a reset. As degrading the battery fully is something super hard to do in one year.
Super duper ultra fast charging? And also what you be doing on chrome ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

My poco was at 56 last night and i left it woke up after 7 hours to find out it went 0. That was a disaster
What’s a gcam? I recently found the added PRO modo on the standard camera app and the quality of my photos have already improved tenfold. I love it!
Because of degrading battery. 3 or more years old Iphones users have the same issue. Changing battery will make it work like a fresh and you can use it 1-2 more years. and also its not that costly.
If that started to happen suddenly (or after update) go to update settings, click 3 dots and download latest package…
