Hi, I used to have Xiaomi 13 Ultra which I still consider one of the best phones I ever had, for my needs it really lacked two features: a bit better selfie camera and UWB. A bit sad that 15 Ultra has not got UWB, but how the selfie camera compares?
I have switched recently to Pixel 9 Pro as I wanted something smaller + had an idea how to utilize UWB, it has decent main cameras, of course nothing comparable in low light to 13U, but still fine and quite amazing selfie camera. Yet the phone is lousy: in video editors it is barely usable so if I try to process a short video while traveling it only frustrates me. Even popular software cannot properly support its screen (especially the upper bar’s) proportions, software itself has more bugs than HyperOS: cannot count how many times keyboard did not show, due to screen apps had missclicks in different positions, now when you receive a call even it shows that you have loudspeaker on sometimes it uses normal volume level etc.
Having the issues above it made me think about returning to Xiaomi. I understand that 15U has not got for example UWB and aperature is fixed now, cannot control it: but how is the front camera doing? Is it still barely usable in the evening and during the days generates blurred, over postprocessed photos or do they have a good level of detail finally?
Anything particular I should know before switching back?
Many thanks in advance for any answers.
Went from samsung to xiaomi.
Every camera is better on the xiaomi.
But NOT the selfie cam. Thats better on samsung.
Its not entirely answer to your question.
Please, could you maybe share one or two photos using the selfie cam? Cannot really find reliable ones on the internet… Ones provided by reviewers are hard to try. Of course no need to share your face :D, a photo of a teddy bear would work out.
Xiaomi 15U’s selfie camera is actually not bad for photos. Very close to 25U which has the best selfie camera. I have both phones in my household. However as others said the other cameras are better than S25U. Especially low light shots and photos being less processed.
Turn the phone around and use the main camera, no-one buys a £1300 phone for selfies.
