Hi everyone, I just got my Xiaomi 15 Ultra and I’m a bit concerned about the camera lenses getting scratched. Do any of you use a lens protector or any other type of protection for the camera module? Did any of you experienced any scratches on this main camera lens? Would love to hear what others are doing to keep it safe — or if it’s even necessary. Thanks in advance!
hmm good idea, id rather buy it quick on amazon, but also saw the glass ones that cover the actual camera lenses. Not sure if that is a good idea for picture quality-someone who used one should share their experience.
Thats a good one. What is the name of this case? Thanks
It’s Xiaomi’s original leather case. You can view more photos and a review that I wrote about it here: [https://xiaomiultra.wordpress.com/2025/04/30/xiaomi-pu-leather-case/](https://xiaomiultra.wordpress.com/2025/04/30/xiaomi-pu-leather-case/)
Yeah, I tried to avoid that because I assumed the glass from those would be low quality and mess up with the camera quality. I also liked the look of the metal one with my case
Tbh, most good cases for the phone like the Nilken I’m using have a raised lip around the camera cutout. That seems be doing pretty decent protection for the lens as it doesn’t allow for the phone to rest on the module at all. I would have used the provided clear case but honestly it felt a little cheap and hard to take off when on.
If you have the photography kit, you can use the filter adapter to fit a 67mm UV filter on it. Use a quality one from trusted brand like Tiffen, Viltrox or 7Aritsan. These are what people use to protect a professional camera lens, they don’t noticeably degrade the camera quality.
If you don’t have the photography kit, you can get a case that has a filter adapter ring on it. It would be a little hard to find but there are a few on Aliexpress.
thanks, did the lens protector came with it ?
No, it did not come with the case, even though they kind of look alike and complement each other. But the cover only cost me about €1-2 on AliExpress.
I’ll do a review of it soon, but the only issue that I have with it is dust. Since it’s glued to the phone’s glass cover, it attracts dust around the borders of the cutout and it’s a bit hard to remove. It doesn’t impact the photos and totally serves its purpose of protecting the glass, but it’s just hard to keep a completely clean look.
Thanks for the time to write that.
Yes, I’m using this one

I had bought a lens protector that covered the entire thing, but it degraded the camera quality. Especially for light sources, lens flare and softness the processing couldn’t take out. Kept it bare since, and honestly it’s been quite resilient against scratches. Still completely clean.
I have something similar and in black. Made of aluminium or some alloy. Works really well. I would not use the glass as it will degrade camera quality. I saw a video review where the back camera glass had scratches just from daily use.
