Hi all,
I currently live in China and am looking to upgrade my Xiaomi 12 Ultra to the 15 Ultra. That said, I’m moving to the US in July and was wondering which version I should get—the China version sold domestically or the global version available in Hong Kong.
I’ve visited the US several times over the past three years with my Chinese Xiaomi 12 Ultra and haven’t had any issues.
From what I read online, the global version has some bugs with the OS.
The big differences are B71, popular for long range high speed T-Mobile (the best US carrier), Physical SIM slot, and Google Pay for contactless payments.
The good news, you still get most US bands and most carriers offer eSIM. There are apps that provide work around for mobile payments. The Average Dad Tech YouTube channel has a good video on the difference between the Global and Chinese ROM. Your device probably won’t work on the Verizon network, but should work on AT&T and T-Mobile.
You mean in the US? Moving to Durham NC
Depends on where you live.
I believe the Chinese version does not work with Android Auto but if you don’t use it then it’s ok.
Chinese model since it would have a larger battery.
Better the chinese versión it has 6000 mah battery capacity while the global version only has 5410 also the software is a lot better with a lot more features that global lacks of
Thank you!
I just found out there’s a $300 price difference between the two versions, which might be the main reason I’ll go with the Chinese version 🙂
Only band difference really would be 5G n71 used for long range stable 5G connection.
HyperOS has bugs for sure, but the Chinese version does too. Some shared in between the two versions.
Up to you. I have the global (in Canada though both countries share a lot of the same wireless bands). It works excellent and has gotten 4 updates since the end of March.
