Yeah i was considering doing a clean install to see if it would help. But just accepted that battery life won’t be amazing. Got used to charging up twice a day now.
Same here. Even made a clean install.
Ye I ain’t ever getting a Xiaomi again, this is ridiculous. I regret spending so much on a phone with a shit battery
how is that possible bruh, what do you use and how long is your SOT
If you’re going to be shooting or using the cam for an extended period of time and you’re worried about the heat, use it with a cage and put a phone cooler attached to a power bank. The cage would reduce the likelihood of it being dropped and makes it easier to hold with the cooler attached but will add cost.
Of course the time of the day and weather, including your locality would play a big role. Eg: New Zealand would be cooler than say than the tropics like ASEAN.
At the same time, consider closing all other apps that you don’t use, put it into flight mode to conserve a little more.
6 weeks now with the 15 Ultra and battery has not improved. So yeah don’t give them false hopes.
Yep that’s correct. I don’t care for Instagram or fb notifications, only messenger so I leave it unrestricted. I don’t know how well HyperOS restricts Facebook without intervention, that’s just a habit I’ve had since custom roms on Android way back in the day. Facebook is a resource hog regardless
i bought 2 days ago. If I restrict Instagram in the background I won’t receive notifications.am i right ?
How long have you had the device? When I first got it, I’d end the day with around 35% left. This is compared to around 70% on my iPhone 16 pro max, and 35% on my Z Fold6 as comparison. A month later I end the day with around 63% left on average I’d say, from 7:30am to midnight. I finish the next day under the 20% battery warning but easily a two day device. The only changes I’ve made was to completely restrict background usage for facebook and instagram.
Samsung does, you can limit the processor to 70% within the battery saver settings.
Never game on phones. 😁
But thanks for the detailed info.
Well, almost no OEM has such. Only some of those gaming devices like ROG and Nubia offer certain settings related to power profiles, but never a full control.
Usage doesn’t magically change the thermal profiles. I develop stuff for these devices including thermal mods. Know them inside out. If you’re expecting to game 2 hours and keep your device cool, than you don’t understand how these SOCs work. In average usage it’s perfectly normal for a device to heat up. Processing power = power consumption = heat = heat dissipation.
Seen otherwise. Guess it depends on use.
Yeah, they should bring a setting which could allow to change that.
Debloating doesn’t just mean deleting. Look up the methods of using LADB to debloat, use the APK of it not paid version.
Apps to get rid of are any Google apps you don’t need, mi browser unless you want it, all preinstalled games, stuff that you won’t use basically. Keep xiaomis app store calendar voice recorder music app gallery and notes otherwise phone could malfunction and require factory reset.
Which apps should we delete?
And 15 Ultra is perfectly fine when it comes to “heating”. 8 Elite is a power hungry chip, and even in other devices it behaves very similarly.
14 Ultra had a different issue when it comes to the battery life. The “heating” issue is normal and not something that it should be compared between different brands because each OEM has their own set of thermal throttling implementation that behaves differently, and has different thresholds. Xiaomi is on the upper level and allows more power draw across the board but offers more better long term usage in heavy apps or games.
Didn’t really solve the autonomy and heating issues. 14 ultra is known for this.
What’s wrong with the updates? EUXM build already had like 4 updates and so far it’s all solid.
Was talking about updates…
It’s not even remotely the same as 14u. Have both devices on my table and they’re not even remotely comparable in terms of power consumption in both active and idle usage and how long the battery lasts.
Debloated yet?
Camera wise it did. Battery life wise it stayed the same.
I’m new to Xiaomi, so I’m guessing the 14 ultra never got any significant updates huh?
Well then, I’m just going to ride this one out for 3 years or so and go for another brand.
Don’t get your hopes up. This sounds like the same story as with the 14 ultra.
Battery drain is unfortunately common if intense use of the camera module.
welcome to xiaomi
Heavy battery drain is common with modern smartphones as they require a lot more power with bigger sensors and more computational work.
If the battery drain is bad during normal usage then I would be concerned.
If it’s new, give it some time, but the camera does drain the battery a lot and gets the device hot af.
Hope Xiaomi could fix this with a couple of updates.
put all ur unused apps to restricted in battery usage settings.
