I was curious to capture moon images on my new Xiaomi 15 and then i found out this super moon mode which i used and i was surprised that Xiaomi 15 somehow replaced the moon with fake image as you can clearly see in the images one taken with super moon mode and the other without it. Really disappointed
I don’t have that option so yeah… 13T Pro
Yeah, my 15 Ultra does that too, I don’t know why that mode exists, it makes everything else really dark so what’s the point? But now I’m curious how will it do in pro mode with very low iso or fast shutter speed etc, maybe I can get a real moon photo. Will try tonight and update
Please do let me know in the DM then. Send it to me so that i can also have a look at it
Why do you think it’s fake?
Watch the video
Yeah Samsung does the same
Like all brands didn’t care, anyway.
Well i guess at least your camera would feel real
all brands do this. without AI, no smartphone can actually take moon shots
Extra blury*
BCS The 13T Pro maxed out at 20x
Look this post for samsung [https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/11nzrb0/samsung\_space\_zoom\_moon\_shots\_are\_fake\_and\_here/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/11nzrb0/samsung_space_zoom_moon_shots_are_fake_and_here/)
i have try with X15 and i have only a blur moon , any modification
but when i take picture of real moon i havea beautiful view
You can only zoom to 5x in pro mode when RAW is on, you will need a tripod shooting at low ISO
people just dont care. it is just not possible do get proper shots of the moon with a consumer camera or phone. either you just dont or you google for a decent moon pic. but bc people are lazy fks, manufactuerers integrated the googling part into the camera. so the user wants a moon pic which is not possible, the “camera” finds a moonpic for them to make them happy.
That’s just racism at this point
I don’t have super moon mode on note 13t pro , on Xiaomi 12t pro , diting, I have custom rom , maybe of I go back to stock will get that option…
Can you explain the video? There seems to be difference in the patches of the moon between the 2 photos but didnt get the image details that you’re showing
That’s what i have written in the post below the title and the video. That using supermoon mode on Xiaomi 15 puts a fake moon in the actual moon
I missed the text below the video..yes definitely a disappointment
Respectfully, more than you surely, fuck off
Actually pro mode is 10x max, and a tripod wouldn’t really help for the moon, for the stars yes. The moon is too bright, need both low iso and fast shutter speed to get the texture.
Yes 10x in JPG only pro mode, 5x in RAW as it is a sensor DNG image. A filter could be the answer? Was taking a few shots of the recent partial eclipse, obviously very bright and blown out highlights without the filter, attached my 67mm ND filter and dialled down to 8 – Ev at -4, s/s 1/8000 iso 50 ND filter at 8 – it’s not without fault but it’s a phone photo after all.

And depending on lighting conditions you can get good moon shots without the need for the AI moon mode. This was just taken in normal photo mode, the moon was impressive that night, actual colour and you could clearly make out the dark and light areas with the naked eye.

For some reason this is not at all working on my x15. It only took 3 pics and then gives the real blurry shots

For some reason this is not at all working on my x15. It only took 3 pics and then gives the real blurry shots for the rest 50+ tries.
