Techtablets said it is hot garbage this phone.
These phones need to be huge to manage the heat of the new processors, but they seem to be failing still.
Is the person’s hand small or the phone is a monstrosity?
Beautiful. But I’m done with curved screen.
So many people complaining about MIUI, what problems are you having? Mine runs fine I’m on 10T pro
I think this is it, i use a poco x3 (huge phone) with average sized hands and it doesn’t look that big, also never had any problems because of the size.
Camera array design look fantastic to me
Google: Android Tablets have future
Xiaomi: Hold my phone!
Mi 8 user here, have been since release. I haven’t had any problems with MIUI.
At this point i might as well carry my macbook air around…
Nothing of sorts, here.
Nice.
still waiting for a gen 8 with ip rating
Hate the punch hole :/
The Nexus 7 is a 7 inch tablet by Google.
I’m amazed how much the bezel has shrunk. Nice
For how long will the OS be working nicely on this phone? 6 months like every other one?
I see. Never had one with curved screen hence asking. Thanks.
Well I don’t think your hands are the problem or maybe my hands are the problem 😊 It’s clear that many people like big/huge phones.
I have now the mi9se which is perfect size for me. But the dimension I consider the most important is the width, not height. If it is too wide I need to have the hand more “open” and my hand feels uncomfortable after a while.
So 12 is the same width as my mi 9 se o mi 6, so I think it would be fine for me.
The width was they remarked in the presentation [https://www.lowyat.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Xiaomi-12-teasers-tall-aspect-ratio-4-1024×768.jpg](https://www.lowyat.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Xiaomi-12-teasers-tall-aspect-ratio-4-1024×768.jpg)
Thoughts?
> mi 9 se
Damn! … Xiaomi 12 is 69.9 and so is yours, and mine Mi9T Pro is even 74.3 (a bit too large and I’ve stop using rubber case because then it’s just too large, opted for OEM slim plastic case just for that….
Seems like it will be perfect! I’ll just wait for 6 months until it drops to like 400e and buy that
It out-specs my phone in every aspect except Xiaomi ditched the pop-up front camera for punch-hole which I don’t like. Will see about the overheating some reviewers mention.
Make it smaller, make the camera flush with the back panel, return to normal screen bezel selfie camera and boom! A perfect smartphone
Scammed on a notch above here.. 10T Pro 🥲
Me on my mi 10t pro
Tiny hands it’s less than 7inch phone
I guess there’s a lot of issues on the lower performance devices, and I kinda see how that’s possible the animation and notification shade perhaps. I’m using it on a mi 11x Pro and no glaring issues so far
Not big enough
It looks almost exactly like the Mix 4, except with a punch hole front camera.
I love smaller phones… But i can not see the problem with Xiaomi 12 Pro. You have 12 or 12x (if available global)..
For instance I will buy the 12 or 12x if available…
That’s actually pretty cool
The speaker are not the same side, goddammit.
I have the Mi 10 and it’s annoying, that I sometimes close the speaker with my hands.
At least I can turn it the other way. The 12 Pro will have Mono in my situation.
And my axe
I have 11 T pro and no problems with MIUI uptill now .
Yeah those lines make it look like it’s modular. Like the finish as well
that’s what she said.
Thank you so much! wasn’t even paying attention to the “width problem” I was just looking at screen size altogether.
No popup cam, no bueno!
I love how well this minute resumes the phone.
For me it’s too big, but I’m happy because I have the option to buy 12 or 12x.
Very nice indeed
I have always complained about the lack of “compact” phones. But this time, with Xiaomi 12, we have freedom of choice.
So I can’t understand why this time people continues complaining. Maybe, they should to have the same cameras in the 12 or 12x… I understand in that case. I would like that, too.
But for me the launch of 12 and 12x, has been really good news.
The 13 Pro will allow you to attach an SLR lens.
ugly big boy
That charging brick tho!
There’s a fine line there, when you should disable and stop updating to newer roms 😉
New phones always work the best on their OEM roms.
I wish my 11Ultra speakers sounded like that out the box. Mine are just a crackly mess from day 1. Horrible speakers. And seller wouldn’t help.
Gotta work on the miui i have a poco X2 120fps it’s slow as fuck now days I just purchased a samsung tab s7+ plus in 2021 both were launched in 2020 but I can feel the difference both the devices are 120fps but one UI is much smoother I also appreciate the features of miui but the whole lagggy experience in miui makes me hate it
Didn’t like the back camera design. For some reason I like Mi 11 lite design more.
But it is never a deal breaker.
Person has very small hands, its only a 6.73″ phone, not any bigger than sooo many other phones. And much smaller than a Mate 20 X.
Mi9T Pro, FTW!
Why?
The design is awesome, except for the ugly punchole camera.
Bring back pop-up front camera from Mi9T Pro!
That said 7″ are still bigger than 7,6″ now due to the form factor 7″ was 16:9 and now 7,6″ are in 18:9
big ass phone
I have it, and I freaking love it so far
Simple. Use custom rom
Is it out already? I kinda missed on all of the announcements
They didn’t optimize the Xiaomi 12 for google services so it working worse than a 100$ Redmi 9. Been there, compared,it would be funny if it isn’t sad.
GPS issues, Internet stops working, display glitches. Freezes.
Huawei Mate 20x 7.2″ is a phone.
I owned two Xiaomi devices and made the experience that MIUI gets worse the older your device is.
In the first year they always patch upcoming bugs or issues immediately. Then after a year or two they stop giving a shit and your phone gets more bugs with every update without fixing any of them.
I don’t think xiaomi can make big impact in premium phone segment globally unless they make thier Software good. Miui is getting more bugs after update
maybe, but its always good to know what others have experienced, positive and negative
Beautiful
1080p front cam . Thermal throttling. Laggy UI.. No thanks.
I’m guessing accidental button presses?
In my case I can hold the phone in one hand and it will automatically register a press to open an app or select a YouTube video when I’m already watching one.
I’m still using my rock solid Mi8 but that phone looks sexy.
Curved screens are no go. I don’t like Iphones, but they have excellent designs, I’m pretty happy with the 10 t pro.
both. It’s a 6.73in screen monstruosity.
Most phones use 18:9, Sony smartphones use 21:8:9 which is absurdly narrow and tall, that’s weird to use.
Please enlighten me with your wisdom on how to achieve that reliability on mine, it would be a tremendous help if I can finally solve that issue!
Because otherwise, this is a great media platform. Beautiful screen, clean sound (both speakers and headphones), solid connectivity, loads up everything blitzing fast. Built in Dolby EQ is also impressive, can’t get tired of listening music on my phone.
Sincerely, even 6.29in is a bit much for me, I’ve tried 6.0 and that would be perfect for me, but I’m using Mi9T which is just a tad large… Its the most my hands and pocket can bear. Maybe my hands are problem?
Mostly how aggressive it was at killing background applications for me, even tweaking its behaviour per app I would still find my music or GPS being killed in the background.
Was aiming for this phone, but when the rumours started about the latest Snapdragon chipset being again made by Samsung ,i dropped the plan.
Good thing is people no need to spend ton of money and upgrade often, because nowadays the changes in the new ones are barely noticeable.
The only value for money phones mi made last year was Note 10 Pro and Poco F3.Others are just rebranded versions of this models with changes in charging speed, and processor.camera slowly went from natural sharp and true to life colors to oversaturated noisy unnatural sharpness mess.
Glad that custom roms and gcam ports exist and it is what makes the brand alive along with value for money pricing in mid rangers offering strong hardware.Mi flagship section Phones except mi 11 ultra are pathetic
Honestly it looks gorgeous
Xiaomi 12 (no pro), just looked it up, is bearable at 6.29in
Me watching this on my Xiaomi 11
It’s a fucking laptop
That’s got to be one of the cleanest looking camera modules I’ve seen in a while
No, I think it looks great too. Just too big for my taste.
Pretty sure they can’t make a bigger phone next year
Ditched Xiaomi again for OP at least the Nord 2 is smaller, which is actually the most important thing
So true. It’s like a baby piloting a Boeing 707. Hardware is good, but the software feels like its still in kindergarten. They can be a top brand if they want.
And on my Xiaomi 10T
Is anyone still rocking a Mi Mix 2 ? Lol, probably time to upgrade but I can’t quit justify it.
Just a quick reminder: Xiaomi is the company I bought a 4K drone from. Now just few years later it’s a 400€ piece of scrap because Xiaomi ditched the product, no updates, incompatible with current android and iOS.
Thanks Xiaomi. Ripping off customers is what I remember and warn others of.
They are on my trash list. Hope you all do the same.
negative review is the best that a company can get
Too big for my hands
My main issue even until now is the questionable RAM management. WhatsApp notifs go through, but not Gmail. Facebook notifs go through, but not Telegram. I missed several important emails because of this.
its the 1% that is here on reddit complaining about bugs, not everyone is having bugs, 99% is having a bugless experience
Ah yes, I like the narrow and tall. I can’t believe I laughed at Sony for the cinematic aspect ratio before.
and my baguette!
Xiaomi can put whatever hardware they want in the device, as long as it keeps overheating and the camera software can’t produce good photos…what good does the hardware do?
Google Pixel has much less megapixel but their software is able to produce much better photo’s.
It’s about the same size as the iPhone 13 Pro Max, but a lot lighter. The person in the video just has small hands.
its good. but i’ll wait until modder do custom rom, MIUI is just meh
And my neighbor!
Is The only phone i can flip pancakes with
Is it wider than most of the phones nowaday? If so, I love it!
Why thy keep doing the phones larger?? The specs of the phone are amazing but the size is a big no no for me.
the size of that camera damn
The people who aren’t having issues don’t post on reddit to complain about a lack of bugs
Xiaomi 11t pro 256go user here.
99% of time I can’t retrieve any verification code from any of my apps… Which is difficult in daily use. Most apps use double factor safety nowadays.
From last random behavior of my phone, I noticed it maybe does receive the code but just choose to not show anything : no notification, no sms. So when you’re in luck it grabs automagically the code without telling you, when you’re out of luck you’re locked.
I’ve tried whatever network settings and app authorization I could, notifications permissions, disabled whatever anti spam built in functions, reboot, empty cache data, uninstall and reinstall apps, called my phone carrier… nope. Can’t solve this one.
Last time it happened was this morning, had to literally use another phone to validate a urgent payment into my bank app, failed with my 11t.
Voilà for my experience with MIUI.
I have no bugs (Mi 11 ultra)
The m11 design it’s better imho
11t pro 256 here too. Have had zero issues with verification codes. Sometimes it detects the codes but usually have to manually enter them
I have a Mi 10T and MIUI is also fine for me. No sudden battery drain, no notification issue. My only complaint is occassional drops in refresh rate, but it is pretty rare. My Galaxy S20 FE 5G offers a similar experience with its beloved One UI.
Ditto
I think this is one of the best looking backs at the moment, the colours are very nice too
> Mi Mix 2
Nothing can justify switching to ugly punchole camera, I have Mi9T Pro (pop-up front camera) and would never switch back to ANY phone with front punchole camera
My baby hands could never hold that
Yeah!!! Happy to see your reaction 😊
Long ago, I bought a one plus one (second hand from a colleague) and I found it too wide… and I did the same, use it without a case, but it was still too wide.
I think height is only important for those worried about the size in the pocket, one-hand use… and maybe because is heavier.
