I’m having a LOT of bugs. Half the time the notification panel forgets to get opaque and I can’t really read stuff easily. Also lockscreen wallpaper suddenly comes onto the home screen until I switch it off and on again etc
Have fun not getting more than 2 years worth of updates then.

Xiaomi is horrible when it comes to updates.
I don’t use their flagships. I got more than three years worth of software updates on my redmi S2, which is pretty good considering its a budget device.

I also had this bug. I think it fixed itself after locking and unlocking the device or going into an app and then exiting
Looks like it’s a launcher issue. Is that a third party launcher?

Οχι, δεν ‘δοκιμασα’ απλά, ειχα παρει το 1 απο τους πρωτους με invite, μετα ειχα το 3 και τελευταιο το 6t. Και διάφορα ανάμεσα, xiaomi/htc/huawei/οτι θες και δεν θες.
Σαφως και ειχαν bugs, σαφως και επεφτε πολυ κλαμα στην κοινοτητα με το παραμικρο κλπ
Και τωρα εχω iphone που ειναι το πιο ακριβο και ειναι αυτο με τα περισοτερα bugs lol

I have a mi9t pro since November 2019 and until today I had miui 12 with stock ROM (12.0.3 global), my wife has a note 9 pro, my work phone is a poco m3, all 3 are miui12 and I hadn’t encountered even 1 bug. On the subject: you sure you have the original luncher?, doesn’t really look like miui12 homescreen, maybe you have custom rom…
By the way, try disabling the reading mode, if not properly setup that can make your screen look like that

Exactly my problem with MIUI. For me, it is the notification sounds, they randomly turn off. Restarting is my only option.
Well, it will get better. I didn’t encounter any bugs on miui 12.5 (on redmi note 7) since they released the beta two weeks ago
Almost same, i had some bugs (like notificatio’s panel background not getting blurred) but since 12.5 i didn’t encounter any system bugs, so congratulations for xiaomi for great work on that
Turn off your phone, hold power + volume up. When the screen turns on release the power button but keep holding volume up until recovery menu load. There you can factory reset your device, you will loose all the data on the phone.
As much as I know it is beta. Op should be aware of that

I have the Redmi Note 8 Pro, and I have Miui 12 for 4 or 5 months now, and I have had 0 bugs, not a single one (I am currently in 12.0.5).
I am switching to the Realme 7 Pro, but not because I am not happy with Miui or Xiaomi, but because I want a lighter phone, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is 200 grams and sometimes does not feel comfortable to use with one hand.
No, I’m not on the original launcher. I’m on Nova. But tbh I really really don’t like the miui homescreen and am too used to nova. But it’s not a custom rom, just a launcher. And tbh if I have to change to miui launcher just to fix the bugs, I’d rather switch my phone to something that can use nova properly.
Anyone had a bug on a camera app? Mine not working it won’t let me take pictures and videos anyone had a solution on that?
Another one is that sometimes when I try to type something big very fast it immediately closes the app and goes to home screen, it was really annoying for me

Yep, i should have stayed on MIUI 11, MIUI 12 didnt bring anything good on Redmi note 7, besides worse battery and new notification bugs.

In august it will be 2 years. I’m thinking of getting an upgrade in the next winter.
What bothers me is that i never really abused the phone, almost no gaming on it and i have a secondary phone at home to use for youtube if im not in my room, so the only time i use it for anything else than browsing and phone calls is when i go out and last year was the corona thing, so i didnt go out that much.
When i upgraded to MIUI 12, i straight up dropped 1,5-2 hours of SoT, which is awful.
Yeah man i know how you are feeling. People seem to forget that, if a phone is cheap for what it offers, there are gonna be some sacrifices.
Sadly, yes. The annoying thing is that besides these issues, this phone is solid all around: decent screen, decent speaker, decent photos even without gcam and imo great fluidity when navigating, but these software issues drive me nuts sometimes
I will try another company next, but in the 200$ range there isnt any other phone that beats xiaomi at specs.

This is exactly why i’m using and developing Custom ROMS. Miui is just purely bad. I’m not talking about the integrated ads, those are cost saving measures. But it’s seriously a buggy, mess, laggy recents, not turning back to normal mode from ultra power saving, agressive lmk that kills an app completely even if it has a background service, overheating during charging, random systemui freezes followed by soft reboot, randomly “cannot connect to camera” and such bullshits. Xiaomi please, wait a bit more with the update, but make sure it works as intended, and update the damn blobs for your devices cause poorly made blobs cause scrolling lags and dying HWComposer when opening any application.
