Why can’t we have the option to also put 90hz? :'((mi 11)

Can I use it with 1440p?
How do you do it?
thanks mate,it works on my poco f3 too! 🙇🏻♂️
Lol I have the option 60, 90, 144
Less than 120 more than 60.
Mine’s poco x3 and i just changed it to 90 so does the battery drain remain same as in 120hz or less than 120?
Ok thanks
No root required.
Its safe, unless you go poking around the editor and changing other values.
You can delete the editor and the value will remain the same.
I don’t. That’s what I knew about 12.5, I expected it to have it as that’s also what most users would want in terms of high refresh rate and simultaneously have good battery life. Too bad.
Does this require root? And is this safe and if I delete it does it undo everything
It doesnt work for phones that dont support higher refresh rate.
Does it work for redmi note 9s
Ionly have 60 fps
you can magisk hide
SetEdit just edits some values, its not needed after that, so you can safely remove it.
You can go to display settings and see it still says 90Hz.
I think after updating the phone the value resets, though Im not sure.
After I set everything up, can I uninstall SetEdit or it reverts back to 120 then?
Mi 11 12.5.1 Global
Oh oke then
Exactly
Sounds about right
Well its not like I got this phone solely because of it refresh rate. It was just a nice bonus to an already nice package. Its getting harder and harder to find a low refresh rate solid device.
Even if its just scrolling trough miui looking at gallery, or reading something, the higher refresh rate is worth it, but thankfully more and more apps are supporting it.
The only game I play (Brawl Stars) supports 120Hz refresh rate and it feels absolutely amazing and smooth and phone is strong enough to get to 120 fps.
90Hz also feels smooth, just as you would expect for a sweet spot between 60 and 120. I would say the jump from 60 to 90 is more noticable than from 90 to 120.
As for apps, reddit supports it, browsers also, messengers and even youtube while scrolling, but drops to 60 when when watching vids. So basically almost everything I use supports higher refresh rate.
he meant about mi10t pro having 3 refresh rate (60/90/144) options not having 144hz peak refresh rate
Do you have 90hz option on Poco X3? I have the Pro version and updated to 12.5 but I don’t see that option.
MIUI 12.5 and above should have the option of setting the refresh rate to 90hz. Are you using 12.5?
120 fps*
Its so the average use can actually tell the difference cuz to them 120 fps and 60 fps would look the same
Amoled displays dont have 144 hz only 120hz even the Mi 11 Ultra only has 120hz
adb shell settings put system peak_refresh_rate 90.0
adb shell settings put system min_refresh_rate 90.0
idk how to help then…
That is what i am doing
change user refreshrate only, i havent touched peak refreshrate
I did
It still locks to 60
I set it to 120 then set user\_refresh\_rate to 90 and also peak refreshrate to 90
tselect 120hz before doing the procedure
Its not working for me it locks to 60hz 🙁
yes it is 100% sure
It doesn’t work for me on n10 pro are you sure its working?
Yes there is, but its not clean, it gives way too much information and takes much space on the screen, at least it does on miui android 11.
Yes there is! It used to only display display Hz but it updated and it now shows even real time FPS of everything. They made it awesome!
The 60Hz ball isnt moving at 60Hz, its probably closer to 30Hz.
The 120Hz ball is moving at 60.
The balls are just an oversimplified animation, they dont truly represent those numbers.
Im sorry but it just doesnt work on some phones, for whatever reason.
I’m pretty sure there is an fps counter in developer options.
This is slowed down tho, noway 60 fps is that stuttery.
no wonder my battery burned out so fast
120 hz pretty display, high battery usage
60 Hz bad display, low battery usage
90 hz = balance. For anyone want better FPS compare to regular phones, but do not want to sacrifice battery life
whats the reason people want 90hz instead of 120hz?
Xiaomi cut this feature. But Mi10T series have the feature.
There isn’t even that much battery difference. That’s why. You might get an extra 15-20 minutes by being on 90 rather than 120. If you want to save battery, use 60. Otherwise it’s not worth it just for the extra 20 minutes of battery.
WAIT A SECOND. You can’t change your refresh rate to other than 60 & 120? That’s just silly, Xiaomi.
Im pretty sure the hardware can do it. I’m using the 10T Pro and I can switch to 60/90/144 in the display menu, and this is a lower end phone than the Mi 11.
I swear Xiaomi is so weird sometimes.
If the screen is refreshing at 60Hz and the 60Hz ball is bouncing at 60Hz, how do you display the 120Hz ball?
Thanks man appreciate it!
Bro you’re the real MVP
Mine is not working, edited it to 90 but it’s laggy and In counter it says 60. Any ideas?
I have it
well said, part of the reason I got my Mi 10 Pro is it have 90Hz, I don’t use more so I don’t need more
Of course, just select any option from within miui display options and it will overwrite the custom 90Hz value.
I’ve been using custom roms for more than 6 years now, so stop attacking me and start thinking about what you are saying.
Most custom roms have worse bugs than the official rom, because there is a company behind one and a couple of people behind the other. “Bad support” is simply less people, and yes it introduces more bugs. Not having a company behind them is a fact of custom roms, it is not a fault or anything, it is a fact.
Can this be reversible to 120 hz or 60 hz??
Its called “Display FPS”.
Once you install it just toggle the “real time display fps” to on.
Bro which fps app do you use ?
There isnt but i play games on daily bases so to me that 60 fps more makes a huge difference cuz then i can see the dude 0.5 seconds before he can see me
Same. Now whenever I have to use a 60hz monitor (PC), the mouse movements, scrolling etc all seem incredibly laggy.
And I went from 60hz to 120hz and it was a small wow, and that was it.
Never in my life have I seen any such ROM that wasn’t worse than properly reimplemented ones. But well, depends on what we call bugless, and what counts as running “better”. Are they more smooth than ANY stock ROM? Definitely. Are they more stable than stock ROMs? Depends. MIUI definitely has its share of problems, though it varies by device, MTK based ones having WAY more problems, while QC based ones still having more bugs than some other phones with the same chips, but there are some models on which MIUI is relatively decent. As an example, we have 5 Redmi Note 4s in the family, and none had any serious problems. They are stuck on Android 7.0 though. On the other hand, Redmi 5 Plus, that uses the same SoC is a pain to use on MIUI.
Custom ROMs? RN4 is already on 11, and is stable, while R5 Plus is a laggy mess with shittons of bugs even on the 10 ROMs.
Dont know my man, but its easy to do and you can just delete the app if it doesnt work.
Accu battery is showing me 11h 48m.
Miui says 12h 31m.
But this depends on how you use it and which miui version u are using.
For example, Im on miui 12.0.8. android 11 update, and as much as I dont like the update, it did improve my battery life, after I have cleared cache from battery and optimization app, and discharged my phone until it shut off.
I also watch YT videos in 720p.
Because those that have one developer don’t have the resources to reimplement most of the system from scratch, and generally seem to run better than miui.
can this work with the s20?
Who claimed that custom ROMs those don’t reimplement most of the system from scratch were any good? AOSP is generally a huge pile of bugs that is easier to drop than to fix. “maintainers” cherrypicking ancient unmaintained hacks doesn’t help with the stability of AOSP ROMs either.
Have you used?
6h 40m is regular sot for 120hz & sometimes I even hit 8h
What’s the sot for 90hz
People have been in those situations.
How would you be installing any ROMs if your phone has no active community/unlockable bootloader in the first place?
>most custom ROMs are going to have worse bugs
Bad support = more chance for bugs. Thats not an inherent fault custom ROMs have, which is what you’re making it seem like it is. You haven’t used enough custom ROMs on enough phones to even come close to making this claim in the first place.
If you’re phone model doesn’t support ROMs then it would be pretty true.
Me watching the balls bounce at the same time on my redmi note 5
It’s a eye opening experience when I went from a 60hz display to a 144hz one. Soooo smooth
Still I believe 120hz is far better than going for such hassle and battery backup at 120hz is not bad at all, I would prefer that.
You don’t see much difference between 90 and 120. 60 to 90 is a huge step up. So 90 is more helpful to battery.
This is just false and depends on how much support your phone has. My current phone (curtana) has a plethora of very stable custom ROMs. Do some research
Magisk hide
So custom ROMs are good because they fork AOSP, but MIUI is bad cuz they fork AOSP ?
hello logic ?
Because software sucks.
Yeah agree with you but bear in mind those developers pours their pasion and dedication but those xiomi developers do it their job to survive
What app will consume more ?? No app is required to run for this to work. You just set the refresh rate and close SetEdit and it stays 90Hz. I use fps meter just to verify it works, I dont run it all the time.
120Hz is too much for the screen on Poco x3, its blurry and it uses too much battery.
90Hz is sweet spot.
Its only on LED screens
Most ROMs I’ve used on my Redmi Note 7 are pretty good. A few bugs here and there but nothing too extreme. A quick query on the telegram group specific to your phone model can help you to find a stable, non buggy ROM quickly. Also google pay and banking apps work perfectly if you’re rooted through Magisk hide.
Its the balance between battery life and performance
Or any bank app cuz it considers the customs roms as rooted
I don’t think it makes any sense coz that app will consume more battery than 120hz
Maybe the manufacturer have some issues with 90hz😁
Smoothness is very obvious and everyone sees it, but average user will tell that is fast not smooth cuz they don’t know terms and they don’t care.
It’s a balance between battery life and performance
They want to become samsung and Huawei overnight. They also produce piles of phones every week but their software end is much better.
What’s the benefit of 90 instead of 120. I mean else than some battery life there doesn’t seem any sense.
And no Google pay
They can, it’s just not that obvious if you don’t look for it
it worked for me on Redmi note 10 pro. thank you so much
According to some of the reviews, it has something that can barely be called adaptive refresh rate.
Its 120Hz most of the time, but drops to 60 when the image is still, for example when viewing photos or watching videos.
You can see for yourself by activating fps meter in settings, additional settings, developer options, power monitor, frame rate monitor tools start OR downloading an app like “Display FPS” and activating real time display fps. The second option is easier and cleaner.
Xiaomi promised to implement better dynamic refresh rate for mi 11, similar to what samsung has, that drops as low as 30 fps.
Mi 10T has that option but not mi 11…lmao
Exactly my Redmi note 5 pro is a joy to use just like an Android one device with a custom ROM like lineage os
Look at XDA or xiaomi.eu and find your device
I think it’s only with 144hz screens
Where I can find custom roms? My Mi 10 Lite has bugged out notifications for almost a year now, and I’m sick of it, and ready to try different version to fix it.
If you go ahead and fork AOSP, that’s when you get ROMs as buggy as MIUI is
Wait the mi 11 has adaptive refresh rate?????
because no one has it on amoled screen
And I guess Xiaomi is exempt from forking? AOSP *is* open source and maintained by thousands, but that doesn’t mean you remove features from it and create a buggy OS by recreating features from scratch just to implement your own advertising and tracking code, or to comply with the Chinese government, and then force it onto the global users.
Exactly but I’ve just accepted it’s better to use custom ROMs. I ONLY buy Xiaomi phones because they have perfect compatibility with custom ROMs
Custom ROMs with one programmer and “no bugs” are called forks of ROMs maintained by hundreds (if not thousands) of developers
Amen
pretty much same battery loss so why bother? since it adaptive refresh rate
It’s not real 60hz, probably to show the difference between 60 and 120 hz
There are people making custom roms who make better software while having at most 10 people in team
Uh… That doesn’t give them a reason to ship out shitty code. Whether it’s 1 programmer or a hundred, it is impossible to create such a horrible OS! Custom ROMs with just 1 developer literally create bug free ROMs, and you expect me to believe this is why they create something so shitty as MIUI?!?
If they cannot keep up their software with the number of phones they ship, then they shouldn’t be creating so many phones.
Xiaomi only has 22 000 employees were a company like Apple for example has 147 000. When you see how many model of phones they are producing each year (in average one new model of phone per week) more bugs are expected.
because xiaomi allocate very little money to refining their codes. technically they can but they don’t want to.
It’s a bit random by why is the 60Hz ball so laggy?
I hear you and there is a solution that works perfectly with Poco X3, not sure about Mi 11, but you can try.
First, make sure you have 120Hz refresh rate set.
Then, from playstore, download an app called SetEdit.
Launch it, ignore version warning, select System table, if not already selected.
Scroll down until you find “user refresh rate” entry.
Change from 120 to 90
If you dont have that entry, try with “peak refresh rate” and set to 90
Been rocking 90Hz for a month now, works perfectly, verified @ miui fps counter and third party fps counter.
Because Xiaomi has shit coders that barely know how to fix a single bug
