Well, I guess I’m lucky since its different for me. Had xiaomi.eu weekly for 4 years on mi5, now stock miui rom on poco f2 and I have no complaints. My family (4 more different mi devices) dont have problems either.
Im using Vanced too and disabled MIUI optimisation for installing. Is it still working when i turning it back on?

Just noticed you are using Vanced. You might have had to disable MIUI optimisation for installing that. Try turning MIUI optimisation back on.
Yea It works fine. You only have to disable it again when you have to update Vanced via the manager.

That’s the Picture-in-picture button that allows you to have an app open while using another app; I’m assuming you updated your MIUI and it’s not well optimized
I’m keeping my MIUI version stock at the moment until I get the 12.5 or 12.6 version update so I don’t get bugs like this

most of this things can be fixed with updating the launcher itself…have you tried to update it? via apkmirror or miuiupdates telegram channel
10T Pro, miui [12.0.18.0](https://12.0.18.0), this function works fine even with apps where i disabled miui optimization
You can install without disabling MIUI Optimisations, I used ADB via my computer on my Poco X3 Pro the other day.
Use Vanced Manager to download Vanced and MicroG on your phone. The installation will fail but the files will be on your phone (in the “Android\\data\\com.vanced.manager” folder). The MicroG apk you can install normally but the split files you can’t (you should have 3 files – split\_config.arm64\_v8a.apk, split\_config.en.apk and light\\dark\\black.apk).
Copy those files to your computer (I copied them to my ADB folder) and then enable USB Debugging and Install via USB in Developer options in your phone. Then install them onto your phone via ADB using this command on your computer
adb install-multiple split\_config.arm64\_v8a.apk split\_config.en.apk dark.apk
Replace dark.apk with light or black depending on which version you downloaded. You need to do this for every Vanced update which is a bit of a faff about but I think it’s better than fixing the broken permissions from disabling/enabling MIUI Optimisations.
Why don’t you flash a custom ROM?
Our is just their customers which are playing with the developer settings.

That’s dumb as hell, disabling this is even required to install YT Vanced. I don’t know any other phone where such stupid limitation exists.

I disabled this feature the day they introduced it. Watsapp for ants is of no use to me.
You must have had disabled miui optimization. This feature uses miui optimisation so it won’t work unless its enabled.

That is caused by disabling MIUI’s optimization on the developer settings.
Other errors caused by disabling this option are being unable to add files to an email, the hard reset of almost every app you’ve installed from the app store, message app not being able to read contacts properly, etc… Basically it ruins every MIUI specific features. At least you don’t have to deal with the 10 second AoD in other phones lol
