What happens when you’re drunk, dumb, and don’t have a good case on. Don’t make the same mistake as I did. RIP POCO:(

I don’t know if the parts is available yet, but if it does, you can repair your own screen.
I repaired my redmi note 3 screen, even though the screen that I got is way worse than the original
Thank you for the recommendation! I’ll be buying a new replacement very soon!:)
Thank you:) I’m going to do everything I can to get this phone working again, even if it requires a full rebuild. I’m not sure if I made it clear but the display is the only part of the phone clearly not working. The phone still unlocks, detects my voice etc.
I have broken the screen of my Mi Mix2 3 times in total now. Waiting for my new screen now.
[JerryRigEverything made a teardown video.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5VWWba0coY)
I helped my friend replace his Redmi 5 Plus’s screen and it turned out to be better (in my opinion) than the old one. It seemed brighter.
What was especially good about that phone was all the screws were philips heads, and they were all the same except two. All the parts were really modular, and it was easy to transfer all the boards into the new frame.
Hopefully the Pocophone is similar.
If the battery pull tabs break, though (ours did) it’s a huge pain to cut through that adhesive, though.
([A teardown of the Pocophone is here.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5VWWba0coY))
Just buy a new one..
All 3 times it happened in the bathroom where the floor is hard.
– first time I left it on the washing machine while it was on and it fell down after 30 minutes or so
– second time I kicked it off the counter while getting out of the tub
– third time it fell out of my hand after my workout because my hand was shaking
Oh been there! Sorry mate!
I dropped my miku edition note 4x on a touristic site in China… And touristic sites usually mean ruins with a lot of rocks… You Know what happens TT
Find solace in the fact that at least it wasn’t a $1000 phone.
Glad that Xiaomi phones are cheap enough to replace.
Been there, done that.
That’s why I use an Otterbox when I am planning to go out for the night. :p
Dude I’ve done with an LG G3 back in the day with the frame and it’s as simple as unscrewing and then playing Lego to connect the components.
I didn’t word that well, but yes I had the Nillkin frosted shield case on when I dropped the phone. It’s a nice looking case but it sits flush with the screen when you have a glass protector on it. Won’t be using that case again :/
Hopefully that’ll sort it then. I hate seeing phones get broken.
New screen maybe? https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/9py7m2/comment/e85lxk6?st=JNIB9IY4&sh=13657c4f
this, it just that the mistake feels bad i acted dumb
I’ve ordered a new screen yesterday, it should be arriving in 3-5 days!:)
Replace base have then I think about £90
Can you please tell me the procedure?
Thanks for the info. Good to know.

Got one for mi4i once from here. Initially xiaomi had their own site, then they moved it to this site. This was like 3 years ago. Assuming they still sell Legit stuff.
Can’t imagine how bad completely losing a phone would be, I feel for you man:(
Looks like that’ll be how I’ll try to fix the phone! Thanks a lot for the help:)
Ooof, that’s brutal. Sorry mate
Is not dead sir if if boots up. I saves countless smartphones which are mine all of them (I have 7 now) by buying the LCD part.
I had the insane bad luck to get a phone with the screen destroyed. But by learning how to put the new screen and some effort I brought them to live again.
Well at least you’ll be an expert at replacing Mix 2 screens, solid tiles are the absolute worst when they come in contact with phone screens😂
You mentioned “good” case. Did it have any case on it when it cracked?
F
Did you use a creditcard to buy the phone from Eglobal?
Then you can get 0.5 years of insurance in the entire EU so still the UK too.
You’ll have to pay 50 euro in own risk but hey, you get a new phone.
F
Wow that’s a lot, do you mind explaining how you managed to smash 3 displays?😂
I would still suggest dropping them an email and confirming if these are OEM parts or compatible third party spares.
Unfortunately I don’t have any insurance on the phone, I bought it from eglobalcentral and they don’t cover any damage caused by the user. Also, the bank I’m with requires you to register the phone to get insurance. I could give this a try but currently there is no insurance on the phone.
That looks like a hard impact.
R.I.P Poco
You should keep your eyes open for a replacement screen.
I’ll need to start doing the same😂, gotta buy the biggest cases possible now.
It’s a rite of passage
Contact your creditcard company

After dropping and destroying my Samsung Galaxy S (1) while intoxicated two times on different occasions I vowed to just not touch my smartphone when drunk.
Best idea ever
Hope we could change the screen so we can modify the rounded bottom corner to be the same as the upper corner without the notch.
That looks like a legit screen and frame, exactly what I was looking for! I’m going to buy that and try to fully move all the components into the new frame. It looks very complex but the phone is still working so there’s a good chance I can get it back to a working state. Thanks for the help!:)
I have hand repaired my Redmi 5 Plus.
As others have said, you can buy the screen with the frame. It involves moving all of the unscrew-able parts off of the old frame and onto the new. The only downside is that the screen may be worse quality. My screen on the replacement is darker, and is cropped off a slight bit at the top. Unfortunately for you, you can’t really use your original LCD so you’ll have to hope you get lucky with the replacement having a good one.
Do you have insurance? Some bank / building society accounts come with phone insurance so maybe worth checking to see if you are covered.
Just wondering, is it possible to do a screen replacement with the damage being so significant? The screen barely lights up with faint vertical lines. The power button and fingerprint sensor both wake the phone. I live I the UK if that matters, and I’m about 500 miles away from the nearest Xiaomi store in London (if that’s even open yet). I fucked up badly on this one.
And what happened, I was on the phone with a friend after a night out, phone slipped out of my hand, landed face first on concrete. The screen protector I had on didn’t do much protecting and the case didn’t have a lip to protect from face first falls. It hits hard because earlier today I bought a better screen protector and a case with a lip around the screen to prevent exactly what happened… today.
EDIT: **The phone still works, it unlocks, detects my voice, the notification LED works. I had my phone on silent with no vibration so I’ll have to wait until Monday morning to see if the speakers still work (as my alarms will ring then). Thank you to /u/IamAPengling & /u/illuminaughtti for recommending places to buy new screens, and thank you to every else for the advice. I’m going to do as much as I can to get this phone fully working again.**
Thank you!:)
i lost my phone while drunk too fuck
They’re plenty of replacement screens around, not sure how legit most of the are though. [There’s one in specific that has a frame with it too](http://imgur.com/a/sMuMNAk), and if I’m seeing this right that means that I can disassemble my broken POCO and rebuild it back on the new frame[(Here’s a screenshot of the full phone disassembled)](http://imgur.com/a/TH1E3X6). There’s still no video for a proper screen replacement so I’m not too sure.
that seems fairly simple. I would do it if I were you, since I did not trust any other 3rd party repair shop, and they also cost a lot.
edit
its as simple as redmi note 3. look here
atleast you don’t get robbed lol
