Same here, it auto closes.
I got the “can’t install package” error until i uninstalled the other GCam I had.
Everything looks like it’s working except slow motion is still jerky until I turn on slow motion in the Xiaomi camera app.
Something else I noticed, I can’t see where to change the resolution of the pictures
Weird, doesn’t run for me on the same device with MiUI11.
I’m currently using this one, I love it.

because redmi note 8 is using snapdragon 665, a refreshed (more efficient) snapdragon 660 while redmi note 8 pro is using mediatek helio G90T, which is mediatek’s best chip. it is much faster than snapdragon 660. its antutu score is similar to snapdragon 845.
however the processor is not as efficient, as shown that xiaomi actually had to put more (+500mAh) battery just for it to get as good battery life as redmi note 8
No, it has some port that’s not all that good. This one is much better. Although, I’ve read somewhere that people are still doing better with 6.3 version from the same developer.

I’m not rooted but I do have Camera2 API enabled via TWRP. Other than that I haven’t changed anything.
Make sure you use the stock kernel and NOT a custom kernel, the cameras all break for me and none of the fixes work.
The photos are nicer than urnix version

Tested it on Mi A2 Pie with camera2 enabled. Night sight is a bit slow to start after pressing the shutter but everything seems to be working fine

Just installed it on MI A1, not worth it, image size is too small, it won’t focus on anything close distance, images turn out almost anytime blurry. Interface looks fast/fluid as hell, maybe in good light it works better (it’s night time here)
Did u change settings? Applied a config xml? It does work plug play on mi 9 just doesnt look that nice compared to xtreme with makshaw xml from xda.

Works perfectly on my redmi 5 plus running pixel experience on android pie. However the front camera doesn’t save photos unless I disable HDR like every other gcam version out there . Other than that. Not complaints so far, I also don’t like the UI now

G cam works works with all Redmi Notes, of course if you have a Note 7 or better you don’t need to install anything other than the port. The CPU has nothing to do with this issue as GCam works with both SD and MediaTek chips.
Sadly it doesn’t seem to want to install on my mix 2, tried and near the end of the installation it skips to say app not installed
Tried to download to my Mi Mix 2S. When I chose to install, the status bar gets so far before “app not installed” pops up

I refreshed my app list in Titanium backup, and it seems that my phone keeps reinstalling it every time I uninstall it.
Tried converting it back to a user app but then my system moves it back to a system app.
It’s driving me batty.
Just tried it but I prefer urnix version on my mi 9 with the saves 1 and pixel 3 preset…The colors and sharpness is a bit better for me personally.
Going to have to try this on my OP6! (I’ve always heard that GCAM was better than the stock camera… Going to see the difference from the normal Oneplus camera moving to this!)

can’t find a way to enable wide angle so far, rest works just fine.
What’s confusing to me is how inefficient helio g90t is. It is on 12nm, which is smaller than 660 14nm on RN7. But xiaomi needing to add more battery means that it’s still not as efficient as RN7.
I like the performance/price, but the efficiency makes me nope out of it. I’d rather take snapdragon 730 on mi9t which is slower in raw performance but have much better efficiency and software support

I installed the version 7.0, I also have the version 6.2 and used night sight. I like the contrast in the 6.2 better. The 7.0 is too bright and the output is softer. One more thing I noticed, the FOV on the 6.2 is wider. Tested on a Mi 9T.

I uninstalled my system camera app, but it keeps giving me this error after a “staging app” screen.
Been running this for a couple days on my Redmi Note 5 Pro. Everything on it works perfectly except portrait mode. Portrait mode takes just one photo (not two) so the blur effect in the background doesn’t work for me. I’ve tried everything to fix it. Running Pixel Experience Plus 9.0. Anyone got a fix for this?
It works but I do have the following issue

(edit) Uninstall the old app, I forgot to do that. Front camera works but cant take pictures, 4k doesn’t work (expected), google lens features work well. Overall better than the one i had before.
