Went from a Moto G 2013 to a Redmi Note 4x, what a change!

Welcome. I hope you enjoy your phone. As someone who has used custom AOSP ROMs on this device since April, I’d recommend sticking to miui9.
Is there a camera app that is better than the normal one, without rooting?
Why don’t you try a Redmi (not Note) series phone?
I wrote an extensive explanation in another comment which I’ll [link.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/7cm35l/redmi_note_4x_my_comprehensive_review_and/dpy8rv2/)

lel moto g has noughat
I wish we could get a Mi 7 Compact in that Moto G size.
Hi, I’m from the Philippines too! Where did you get your redmi? From Lazada?
130$? Wow, in India, it’s 180$
Yep, it’s great, I can watch TV with mobdro and browse Reddit at the same time. =P
I know, I had Lineage OS in it.
Split screen is also nice to listen to YouTube while doing another stuff in the phone
I did that, its great. Also locking apps into background helps a lot. No affect on battery life. Notifications are still fucked up though
Same. Moti G 2013(16gb) to note 4x(32/3gb)
Nice change. I’m planning on moving from a Moto G3 to a Mi A1.
Are you me? 😛
I held Redmi 4x in my hand while having two 5″ inch phones shortly after each other and I swear Redmi 4x felt much smaller than those two phones. It is well curved from every side and its a pleasure to hold. However I wanted something bigger, so I went for Note 4 Global and wasnt disappointed. It surely is big, but I thought it would feel bigger. IPhone Plus surely feels huge compared to Note 4
I needed MIUI optimization on my phone after upgrading to MIUI 9, otherwise the DND mode wouldn’t work.
Are you me? I literally got my Redmi Note 4X delivered to my door this morning, coming from a Motorola G 2nd gen. Quite the difference, isn’t it?
Now get rid of the MIUI. LineageOS is soo much better.
I am loving the Note 4x
Thank you. I was wondering why I couldn’t get the Google camera to work, now I know.
I’m still getting used to it, but the Moto feels really really tiny already.
Yep, I’m keeping MIUI for now, just changed the launcher to Nova.
Thanks for the tip, I’m gonna look into it.
Why is that? You’re the first one to say it.
I think you linked the wrong app. [Are you referring to this one?](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.treydev.mns)
Wow, this is news to me, thanks. Been getting a bit frustrated at lag in opening WhatsApp lately but just switched to “Quick” battery performance and it’s working great.
They work fine they look bad. Watch some videos on YouTube how notifications look like on nougat 7 and compare how they look like on your xiaomi. Yes you can reply through notification but it looks awful and you can’t see multiple notifications
How’s the battery life on lineage os?
One handed mode is a godsend, this thing is big xD
Bootloader not unlocking for me 🙁
Haha, me too! Finally replaced the old Moto G just two months ago. It held on but nice to have something fresh and new.
Snapdragon? Because that’s the version you should be getting. Avoid Mediatek at all costs if you don’t want literally half the battery life and SoT the Snapdragon has. The extra juice (power) theoretically works better at lab but it doesn’t translate well to real life application. Definitely will be the first and the last Mediatek phone I’d ever buy from any phone brands, including Xiaomi. Huge regret is all I have now.
DND mutes all sounds, except alarm (alarm was getting muted without MIUI Optimization turned on). DND also allows you to have specific numbers (favorites) ring your phone when the mode is active, which also works if a random number calls 2 times within a 15 mins time frame.
Try the Mi max 2 haha
Thnx…
I am also interested in this.
Starting on Lollipop, you can expand the notification to see more information (like the content of an e-mail or message), and you can also answer and do useful actions right on the notification itself, without opening the app. Xiaomi never bothered to implement this on MIUI and it’s mindblowing how they don’t think it’s a necessary feature.
Inbox app’s notifications don’t come through… I’ve tried these changes… Nothing gives… Anything else I should try?
Yes, it’s the Snapdragon one. Not really a fan of mediatek, and I wanted custom rom support just in case I didn’t like Miui.
I’m you, you wrote this in your sleep 😐
