Xiaomi replaced screen for me
I restarted my phone and it went away.
Update : Got it fixed under warranty. Was pretty easy to arrange.
New screen, 3 weeks wait… Phone is 2 months old. Just annoying really
the same thing happened to me with my old redmi note 4, it’s just broken
Hah, no I just can’t fix the title
No it’s note 8pro
Lol
Haha, it’s certainly a dead row of pixels – if it’s a software bug, when you reboot your phone and it’s on the “Mi” logo, it won’t be there.
I guess parts shipping is just a mess now… I waited a month for a laptop part so I can get it fixed at a store, in the end I just bit the bullet and did it at home with a part off ebay
Thanks fella yeah just sorted out with mi store. Glad we still have the old OnePlus 5 as it will take 3 weeks they said
I had a weirdness kind of similar to this on a Lumia 532, but it was a single column of pixels pushed downwards by 2 pixels. Then they started turning off like this. Now it’s fine without any repairs. I still suggest taking it to a store to have it fixed under warranty
This is more likely a display ribbon cable issue to cause the entire line to be off like that.
Long phone
Fair enough, followed your advice and setup warranty service with mi store
video is vertical line too
There’s a vertical line in your screen
Yep the screens gone
Nope..DONT DO THAT..If you’re device is in warranty get the original one ..had few of those old displays earlier and most of them have shitty color reproduction or worse touch response…and most importantly…after getting a local display…xiaomi wont change you’re next display even if its under warranty
Then pretty much a broken display…
Hey,
Did not try recovery but it’s visible at the edge of the logo when the phone is starting, I tried full reset.
Thank you!
Hah thanks! Warranty would probably take several weeks, I will see how much the Indian dude in the corner shop will charge
I did a full reset, it’s visible even when the phone is starting up with a logo
Thank you very much for all the replies guys. Hopefully this post will also help someone else wondering the same thing ( I did search myself first)
My wife’s phone 😂 Turns out it’s Redmi Note 8 pro

The fuq is a redmi 8T
Faulty display or faulty display connection wire.
Ah shit, here we go again.
I have this in green sometimes. Its definately NOT the display but the display-connection. It also goes away if i press on the lower end of the screen rather hard.
I had a moment like this in a game that’s ment to look a bit dark and scary and the rain looked a broken line in the screen too and I had the same reaction
Alright then a 90 percent as you said
[just a rickroll](https://youtu.be/IO9XlQrEt2Y)
It’s almost definately a display failure but out of curiosity does it happen on the recovery screen as well ? If yes , the display gon
[something kinda similar on my Motorola (g5 plus)](https://imgur.com/a/TnZwu2K)
99.9 percent a broken screen
Surely this would be covered under manufacturers warranty?
Redmi 8T Pro? Does it exist!?
I think you have either a Redmi Note 8T or a Redmi Note 8 Pro 😉
I had the same problem, those pixels are dead. You should get the display replaced.
es solo una raya, a seguir con la vida 😀
It’s not amoled :/
Dead pixels, common display failure, you have to replace the display you can find them in AliExpress (well assuming you are able to replace the display yourself, it’s pretty easy)
You could attempt to do a OLED refresh using OLED tools app assuming it’s using an AMOLED display, since you get dead pixels when there is a voltage issue on the pixels, the refresh will stress the pixels which could fix it, not sure if the 8T is AMOLED
I got good news and bad news ,
Good news it I see a new display in your future.
Bad news you have to Pay for it 😜
If it’s still covered by warranty it should be covered.
Thank you 🙁
That’s a faulty display, needs to be replaced.
