Awesome im not in US but more money for Xiaomi :] hopefully they focus on updates after this cuz now they will have more money and hopefully they dont become greedy and start pricing phones higher.

Xiaomi is actually an amazing brand and I’m glad that US buyers are going to get awesome price to performance just like rest of the world. Except for North Korea of course.

Why would they do that? I pray that xiaomi bancrupts now after my redmi note 8t changed password by itself. Im even getting no help from the community even since i have thousands of euros worth of files on my redmi.
This has nothing to do with phones and their market presence
I bought my mi 9t pro in the USA back in November ’19. I’m sure they will sell other phones here.
The ban has nothing to do with selling phone in USA. Also Huawei, a much bigger company, have tried to enter the US market and manages to poke a hornet’s nest. Huawei ended up losing almost all their phone market.
I’m not sure Xiaomi are willing to take the same risk.

Do or will Xiaomi phones in the US run Global ROMs?
If yes, is it possible that this may make them improve Global ROMs for countries like India and in SE Asia?

Im getting so donwoted but im dead serious, every 2-3days redmi kicks you out to retype your pw not fingerprint, now it just stopped working and i have to spam everywhere still zero support or help
So jealous , my Poco X3 pro is stuck with MIUI 12.0.6 ☹️🥺 , I’m not suffering major bugs or glitches in the system but I do encounter the occasional stutter and lag when going through the UI and battery life could use some improvement as well

Nothing awesome. Xiaomi is very bad community, since i have posted more than 10 threads seeking for support because my xiaomi redmi changed my phones password by itself as a bug or i have no idea how that could happen. and nobody helps me. I am getting zero answers or comments to my threads ;).
Dont tell me to factory reset my phone because i bought an iphone already, i need my passwords and my goddamn 2 years of photos and important files from my xiaomi redmi nots 8t.
First i lost my best paying job in my lifetime because of xiaomi redmi note 8T update when the alarm did not work. There is full internet with this bug now.
Second xiaomi take my files, my passwords and my memories and photos by chaning phones password while i sleep.

BTW. I loved my xiaomi untill the alarm bug. Then i started to not like it. And now after my pw change – i hate it.
My friend. My phone is 2 years old. It is redmi xiaomi note 8t. I have files, btc accounts, passwords worth thousands of euros, i have pictures from traveling the world from times i had a lot of money, which is not anything close i could afford now or any time soon.
Factory reset dont work for me, i can throw the phone in garbage better than factory reset it, i already bought a new phone, but im trying to get my files passwords and photos.
Maybe this could mean its a start for something. Thanks for clarifying.

Since you already got a new phone, use a brute password or something ( idk the exact name) but what it does as it tried all the possible password the phone can have, it will take time, but you’ll get your phots ome day.

My Redmi K30s Ultra(Apollo)has had 12.5 for a few weeks now. But this is also running the China ROM, so that’s why I got it before the Mi 10t/Pro even though they all share the same Apollo codename.

I did that too but those phones weren’t sold by Xiaomi, other people imported them from Europe and sold them on Amazon and eBay for a markup. I’m pretty sure Xiaomi has never sold a phone in the US

Just unlock your bootloader, and on your pc or laptop download mi flash tool to change your rom
So far, there have been no signs of Xiaomi’s interest in the American market. They thereby don’t develop OS for that region specifically. It’s possible to use Xiaomi phones in the US, but not all the country’s telcos operate within similar bands.
It’s highly likely that Xiaomi will improve its operating system customized for other Asian countries in the short term.
