Hello everyone,
After using my Xiaomi 11 ultra for 4 years due to battery degradation and urge to upgrade, I finally upgraded to Xiaomi 15 ultra couple of weeks ago.
It has been a pleasure using it so far. Buttery smooth experience and great performance and very very snappy and battery life has been great, it has 6000mAh Battery because I purchased the Chinese version.
Battery lasts very easily over a day and by end of the day I am mostly left with 35-40% or even 45% sometimes.
I never used 120Hz option on my previous phone, Xiaomi 11 ultra because that was a battery killer. But damn God, I have never disabled high refresh rate on 15 Ultra. My goodness, the smoothness and how quickly it flies through and how great the experience has been. I cannot use my previous phone now. Because it has LTPO display so I don’t have to worry about this using heavy battery all the time.
For Camera, I really wish if they can fix highlights control, good balance of contrast and shadows too. Camera is great. Postprocessing of those images by default isn’t as exactly 100% there where it could be. But, Because Photos do retain all the information and offer very high details, I can quickly edit my favorite photos in default Gallery app and they turn out great as it should be.
Vivo’s postprocessing is great. From what I have seen online by reviewers for both Vivo x200 pro and X200 ultra that just came couple of days ago, vivo still kills that department to maybe give artistic and pleasing look to images by default. I wish if Xiaomi can do same.
On the side note, because I purchased Chinese version of this phone, It took me bit of a while to remove bloatware comes with it and to make it as close to Global version. Took me 2 weeks. But I am pretty much there.
Still, I would say images by default turn out much better. I have compared them with Samsung S25 Ultra and iPhone 15 pro max too which I borrowed from my friends and images can turn out even better when I put even a little bit of effort to click them. But when I edit them myself I can see that Xiaomi can definitely do better and deliver better pictures if they can fix little bit of highlights, exposure, Shadows and contrast better. Maybe future software updates will do.
Overall, I am really happy with the phone itself.

Use these apps to uninstall any bloatware or any Chinese useless app.. make sure u delete “Mi AI” and that Chinese Keyboard
Well the connection is exactly the same.
I’m only planning on doing that a few years in when the battery performance starts to drop significantly.
The china model doesn’t have it, but the global model does.
Also identical.
First of all this is brand loyalty and also the ultra phone loyalty. Shows how Happy you with this absolute flagship line of phones.
I have the 13T pro and I’m waiting for the 15T pro, can’t wait to see the updates!
Hey!!! I made the same upgrade from the 11 Ultra to the 15 Ultra, the day the 15 Ultra came out 😄, been loving it ever since!
Believe me. It is a beautiful phone and piece of art imo. 😍
Still I am in awe of this phone.
Looks wise definitely it kinda wins over Xiaomi 15 Ultra and even some modern smartphones.
But on another note, looks and design are subjective. So I reckon it kinda depends.
I got the replacement battery from PolarTech here in Australia 👌🏾
It was a genuine Samsung battery.
Good to see another alike comrade 😄

Awesome upgrade. Jealous you got the Chinese variant that has the larger battery. I was thinking about getting that one but decided to compromise the smaller battery for more 5G and 4G connectivity in the US.
OK. I’m going to be sorry for looking on eBay for it, that 5x optical zoom looks neat.
I main a Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, for a little over 3 years now. I need to get its battery replaced, as I’ve been punishing it by gaming (nothing drastic, but I often fall asleep with the phone on my chest and it dies before I wake up…). It’s still about a day, despite having a crippled health (AccuBattery estimates it got to 70% or so).
What I totally dislike about Mi 11 Ultra versus mine is the charging. Note 11 Pro+ can do up to 120W, Mi 11 Ultra up to 67W. I see the 15 Ultra can do up to 90W.
I will never get back to something like that, even if I usually use my 67W Xiaomi charger (bedside) or ~20W (QC, desk) and occasionally use the Xiaomi 120W charger – trying my best to keep a 30%-66% usage interval, to protect the battery a bit. I don’t know how I lived before with <20W charging... and I used a Galaxy S2 for 7 years, then an LG V20 for 5.
Did you already try the two way sat communication the 15 comes with?
I have the same exact phones! Mi11 ultra ceramic white and 15 ultra!
My only issue with this phone IRL when I tried it was the hand feel was not good because of the camera bump. Its a bit too extream. I guess you must be completely in love with the hardware to make such sacrifice.
I miss mine, with that pointless (yet totally cool) little screen on the back. I say pointless, I think it’s much more practical than a one-cornered camera bump.
Looking back, it seems like it was one of the bigger leaps forward between series. Agree about the amazing camera. I was always impressed with the videos that phone took.
.
So I take it you don’t mind the missing Android Auto?
My plan is to just swap the 5410mah battery for the 6000mah one from the CN model for the extra battery life lol.
I’d never risk it by buying the Chinese version, especially since they practically blocked the way to unlock it’s bootloader, so can’t even use Xiaomi eu rom. Otherwise would love to get 15 pro myself just for the battery
Soooo it means I must replace my new 12s after 4-5 generations, thanks anyway
Yeah the highlights control in both the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 U sucks. They need to fix this asap.
I have 13 Ultra for two years now and I have noticed battery health have decreased. Can you recommend me some store or direct sellers where I could buy original battery and replace it at home? At the moment I have 5000mah battery, on my Hong Kong (global) version. If you think I could put even larger capacity batter, that would also be great! Thanks!
Depends. With Xiaomi 11 ultra, I never edit my pictures lol because I really love default look.
With Xiaomi 15 Ultra, even though pictures has way more potential, it is withheld by highlights control, sometimes overexposed, suppressing Shadows whilst giving contrast look to make picture look bit darker (bit too much) and these are main issues that I can face right now. I can easily fix them just adjusting various picture settings in the Gallery app. Just depends what is required by the picture.
in terms of highlight retentention i don’t see a big difference to my 14 if i’m honest, if anything pictures turn out darker on my new 15u.
but part of it is the leica style, the hdr is often on the subtle side because they want to retain a more realistic look without over the top hdr.
I realize it might sound contradictory to reject phones with 67-90W charging while using 67W or below chargers usually.
The capability to notice you’re low on battery and need to leave soon and to just slap the phone on and get to 100% in 18 minutes is amazing.
And seeing how a 15 Ultra goes for 1200-1500€, versus the Note 11 Pro+ going for 150-200€ just makes it painful.
Why? I only upgraded from Mi 6 to actual 13 Pro after 6 years, and the Mi 6 is still in use for other stuff at home.
I had the 11 Ultra and I really wish they did more with the rear screen. It could have been a cool and unique feature, but they abandoned it instead.
I know right. It is amazing phone to me to this day. I am pretty sure if I ever do factory reset my mi 11 ultra and change it’s battery. It will be resurrected completely and will perform just like new.
Even now it is performing good but not as good as it used to be 🥲. Battery Degradation is real and from bug report I have checked that it’s battery life is around 80% now after 4 years. SOT is still 4.5-5.5 hours max. But still it doesn’t last that long now 😭😔
But I am thankful to purchase this Xiaomi 15 Ultra now. 🙏
True. Xiaomi 11 ultra is very close to my heart. I won’t ever sell it.
That phone has server me very well. Still takes awesome pictures. Not as clear and detailed as 15 ultra but damn it is good too.
Because I really wanted to upgrade. 😅😅
I was itching due to a camera upgrade and want to see what new phone has to offer.
Camera is definitely much better on this one than Xiaomi 11 ultra. But I cannot explain how smooth the usage experience has been on this new phone.
Much much better. Just next level.
I wonder this as well. I guess it mostly depends on the dimentions of the battery itself
Two legends are looking to each other…
Nope. I never use Android Auto. If i do, I can use my Xiaomi 11 ultra. It has Android Auto in it.
Tbh, I wouldn’t suggest replacing battery like that UNLESS you have contact with a really reliable company or a person who can do it PROPERLY for you whilst maintaining the water proof seal of the phone and also ensuring that you will get 100% Original battery as well.
I genuinely have faced slightly disappointed results doing this kinda battery replacement thing in past, so I don’t do that anymore 😅😅
But, Please don’t take my advice as a negative sign.
If you have connections and know what you are doing and exactly know that person who is going to do it is reliable and battery would be original then please go ahead do it. That would actually be great tbh.
I see you often edit out of camera jpegs in gallery app. What are your usual adjustments?
The 15 doesn’t have android auto???
Good to see you comrade. I see you have good taste too

I loved the 11 Ultra and still use it occasionally, but unfortunately the cell service in my area wasn’t very good because it didn’t support enough of the bands that TMobile uses, and almost no bands that Verizon uses, so I switched to OnePlus 12. Another great phone, but after only a year the screen is starting to show signs of burn in. My 11 Ultra still doesn’t show any burn in yet. The battery does need to be replaced though, it doesn’t last nearly as long as it used to.
I upgraded from poco f1 to 13u will wait next 10yrs for worthy successor
Don’t do it. It’s stupid.
You don’t know the engineering drawings for CN model and G model.
There might be 3mm more space for x and y coordinates that allows the thermal expansion for 6000mah larger battery. And your phone can burn like notorious Samsung galaxy 7 Note.
That is exactly what happened. No allowance for expansion.
The reason why CN model has more battery is because all CN products for China use only has extensive spying direct to the 🇨🇳 official state servers.
Thats why they don’t do language support for CN models. They are not meant to be used out side of China. Or xiaomi and others will get the Huawei treatment.
So excessive spying kills battery time faster, to compensate it and not showing it in CN G benchmarks they added a squeezed larger battery
Oh I’m planning to do the battery replacement when I actually need to do the replacement haha (not immediately after purchase). I’ve done it with my note 20 ultra and I got my day 1 battery life back haha.
Uahhaha! Mi9 still with me from 2019, for 6 year together. Sorry, English is not my language.
3 years 11 ultra user here. Still a good phone, no issues, battery is till good. I suggest to use shizuku and canta in removing bloatware. I agree with OP, 11ultra still a good phone and serving me well, dont sell it.
That’s interesting. I would at least advise you to wait for YouTubers to do that.
And wait for sometime to pass.
You can just do it yourself actually. Then you can ensure that you use original parts, the seal is correctly applied etc. For these chinese brands it is also very easy to get original and cheap replacement parts because you can buy them a few months after release on AliExpress.
The procedure itself is also not that hard. It takes a while when you do it for the first time, but you can’t really destroy much. Just watch out that you cover up the camera lenses and don’t use too much force when removing the back panel
the 11 ultra is a legend, never sell it! enjoy your new 15u!
I am definitely never going to sell it.
It is a unique piece of ART (not Piece of hardware).
It represents innovation, what Xiaomi tried to do with their phone. Plus I am emotionally connected to it.
So I won’t be selling it. It is a powerhouse of a phone.
I will post great pictures taken by Xiaomi 11 ultra when I have time after going home today.
No difference if you go 90 watts to 120 you get over double the charging speed due to the Xiaomi 15/Ultra using cheap batteries.
How about the internal battery housing size?
Why 11 ultra looks more modern to me…
Got rid of my Xiaomi 15 Ultra and just stuck with the 15 shame as you get a big drop in camera going to the standard wish they bought the Pro out here in the UK for the better cameras.
Realme copied the 15 ultra and they made it possible to attach a lens like older xiaomi phone.
Enjoy it. I have the 15 ultra too. Switched from a well worse phone than 11 Ultra. It’s amazing.
I only dislike the post processing. It’s way being vivo X200 Pro and Ultra. Also iPhone 16 Pro.
Too vivid and can’t show the details well like iPhone 16 Pro or even 16E
Has anyone confirmed that the 6000mah battery can be swapped into the global model to replace the 5410mah battery?
Had the white Mi 11 ultra 512 gb chinese version for 9 months and loved it – has the blood rate sensor, ir blaster, white ceramic back (very rare on a phone) and harmon kardon speakers. Sold it in 2024 because I got tired of not having US-apps to work especially Google Pay, NFC tap to pay, virtual numbers and more services. Also, AT&T and Verizon won’t take it.
Tomorrow whenever possible I will try to post some pictures taken by Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
