i suppose the unboxing doesnt say much about the SoC, anyway i really dont like rounded borders and rounded display borders
also really wondering what modem this phone uses
MTK T800.
> MTK T800.
no it doesnt, it has a inhouse Modem with unknown performances
“What is most surprising in the presentation is Xiaomi’s XRING T1 modem, which is their 1st 4G modem. Only a few companies globally (Qualcomm, MediaTek, Apple, Huawei, and Samsung) have successfully developed modem. Modem technology cannot be licensed from ARM and companies will have to buy from Qualcomm, MediaTek if they do not have in-house design capability. As much as Apple does not like Qualcomm, it took them many years before they successfully released C1 modem for iPhone 16e this year.”
XRING T1 is a 4G only modem for their smartwatches. They’ll not be stupid to launch a phone with only 4G cellular capabilities. The Xiaomi 15S Pro uses external T800 Mediatek modem.
Geekerwan made a review for Xiaomi’s XRING O1: [Xiaomi XRING O1 Custom SoC Review: A Real Flagship!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cB510ZeFe8w&t=155s)
It uses an MediaTek’s external T800 modem fabricated using TSMC’s 4nm
Because Xiaomi’s XRING T1 modem does not have 5G support, it ended up in Xiaomi’s smart watches.
