It’s pretty much exactly like miui 10.
I couldn’t wait for the update any longer on my 9t pro so I just switched to xiaomi.eu. After setting everything up I realised that it’s the same exact software from miui 10. The new icon pack is horrible so I switched to the old classic one. The launcher finally has an app drawer but I’m still using lawnchair launcher, the settings may have some new colour but who cares and the rest is exactly the same as before.
I was hoping they will implement the pixel gestures but that hasn’t arrived yet. So that’s pretty much it when it comes to miui 11 folks, don’t stress about it and use your phone normally, nothing changes.
There is one major change with MIUI 11 which I liked and thanks to this video found it how to have system wide dark mode in custom themes downloaded from xiaomi Theme store. Previously when we used to switch on the dark mode, the custom Theme elements of a custom Theme used to switch back to the stock Theme design by xiaomi. Now with MIUI 11, developers have access to integrate the dark mode in their custom Theme too. Looks quite good on Mi9t pro. Nice explanation by the author in this video.
> Also when touching the thumbnail it goes directly in crop mode, no need for extra taps.
Is there a way to quickly access [crop presets](https://i.imgur.com/FrFlLJE.jpg) again?
In MIUI 10 I could do that just fine after tapping on the thumbnail, but MIUI 11 [changed that](https://i.imgur.com/RrKBahY.jpg), and now I need to manually open the screenshot again through the gallery in order to get [the old editing UI](https://i.imgur.com/HeQ33Z5.jpg).
To be specific, I want it because I use MX Player for watching video, and it doesn’t have a built-in screenshot saving feature. So I need a way to quickly crop screenshots to 16:9 or (rarely) 4:3.
I compared the light sensor values in different conditions and they are really close to each other, so its the software. 🙁
Hm. That is an interesting point. Will try to compare the teading of mi9 and xperia xzs which worked quite well ib this respect. Will let you know if interested.
One thing is definetly changed : they messed up the autobrightness and it became useless.
I am late to respond. But it still works with the bootloader unlocked. Though I agree that you could just as well use Google tracking.
Does the notification animation/screen lightup only occur once, or until you swipe the notification away? I’m looking to upgrade from 3T, was considering 7T but no notification led or any kind of visual prompt is a bit of an issue for me.
Done, it sounds a bit like a long shot but I’ll see if it fixes anything, thanks!
a new miui version is, in most times, not equal to a new android version, although the redmi 7 and the rest of 2019’s phones should be able to get the update to 10.
Oh thanks , I didn’t know of the existence of this!!
But xiaomi has a phone tracking application inside their mi cloud service. As far as I’ve read, whenever your unlock the bootloader through MI unlock, this tracker option gets disabled. Is there any other theft protection alternative on xiaomi.eu rom?
Thanks, but I’ve already removed almost all of them 😟
No the boot loader doesn’t relock. Unless you use MiFlash and still have the lock bootloader option checked in MiFlash
Its a just a checkbox, just uncheck it.
Better yet just use ADB Furthermore, why go back to stock when Xiaomi.EU is truly just an advanced version of stock but without ads and bloat.
Wrong, you can go back to stable without issue.
for battery drain issues, the fix that I did was to debloat a lot of the MIUI apps using the debloat tool found on this subreddit. solved my problem immediately
I can’t understand why people get so anxious for the update, I get it that’s something new but there are some people creating new posts angry about it specially on the mi community app.
Oh ok. This problem only affects the more recent and high-end k20 pro
wait really?
Lol the real stuff is always in the comment. OP left out so many so in-app updates.
GPS issue ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^\s
I got the Mi A2 Lite because it was double sim with dedicated sdcard slot. Regretted Android One in the beginning, customized it with some apps and it’s alright. But having MIUI on Redmi 3 Pro was much nicer. Can’t wait to get back onto MIUI. Pure Android just doesn’t have enough settings.
Are you saying that Google didn’t cut any options out? I am surprised, those guys give me a headache.
I’ve never liked it either. Always reminds me of those old resurrection roms for old galaxy phones from XDA
I got miui 11, but no android 10? whats happening? redmi 7
option to blur apps, quick notification reply are already in miui 10 beta.
It all depends on the user, it seems. Some of this things mean a lot to me as u user, specifficaly that notification alert can be diaplayed without AOD. I don’t like an AOD that can’t be switched off after 10 seconds of taping the screen and on Mi 9T Pro I mostly can’t see that the LED on the retracted second camera is flashing.
no
That’s your opinion, let people be happy with their own opinion and perspective of things.
Currently I’m having mi 8 (importer is abc data). But as I have told, I have switched to global beta from stock firmware.
it will be depedant on the phone. i’d assume that all 2019 phones and the 2018 flagships will have android 10 (pure android phones also included).
EU ROMs are the official EAA ROMS for europe, if you are talking about some admin post for xiaomi.eu can you please source that?
When you unlock bootloader to install xiaomi.eu you can never get back the xiaomi phone tracking right?
nope
No, posts made by **Xiaomi admins** are always having specific instructions for EU ROMs, if different from the Global ROM
nothng that can’t be done already with miui 10…
gmail works for me
My battery life has increased for about an hour of screen on time, there is better battery and ram management directly from google. I love global dark mode, and Screen Cast us something android has from Marshmallow I think. I just hope for nicer Notification screen and more android like Recents.
just because MI users or the community provided feedback and help doesn’t mean it is actually supported by Xiaomi devs or company
I understand that Xiaomi.eu it’s a big deal and i actually i want to test it myself on my redmi note 7 for comparing to miui 11 but your first answer is incorrect
I’m sold on the third one!
If Xiaomi provides instructions, for example on Mi Community, EU ROM-specific ones are included. Sorry if I accidentally implied support === development, it’s not made by Xiaomi developers.
I’m mostly interested about one of Android 10’s app permissions management. And that’s really it I think.
That might be sweet!
They will . I live in Europe (EEA always receive any update 3 weeks later ) i got it in the same day that india got it .. so we will have it soon for RN7 and poco …..
I understand Xiaomi. They have alot work to do with many phones. They need to make different versions of miui for each phone that will get the update. I know they revealed the time when phones will get miui 11 but tbh i think that is for India only. If it’s global then I wonder if they will give us update on time for phase 1. I can wait as long as it needs but hopefully it will be worth it.
Before beta closed, i used it for some applications and it was very useful, whatever if it’s only WhatsApp it is a very good features. Then it depends of the application, like snapchat you can’t use quick answer as the message doesn’t appear in the notification so impossible to answer on notification
Not many apps support Quick Answer afaik. So far I’ve only got it to pop up on WhatsApp
They still testing the app drawer it’s in Alpha now so some ppl have it already
What about app drawer? Someone says miui 11 has an app drawer and someone don’t.
Same except gmail.
New Android version > new miui version (which is why I am on custom ROM)
There are Google’s special features, and you get a chance to experience latest and greatest gcam
Source?
I tried flashimng xiaomi.eu ROM today on my Mix 2s. No luck. Infinite boot. Not the boot loop. Just endless booting after flashing. Same with the mi-globe ROM. No idea what’s wrong there, but really no luck. So waiting for the official update it is
I was hoping the battery drain with “Android system” draining 80% of my battery every day would go away, but nope, it’s still there, and I can’t figure out what’s making my phone die. Battery management is terrible, just tell me what’s wrong so I can fix it!
BetterBatteryStats didn’t help either, PowerManager has hours of wakelocks and there are almost no partial wakelocks at all.
[redacted because too many people don’t understand what I’m saying…]
Lol so you just see the first releases and you say “yup guy whatever it’s exactly the same” 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ wait to get more features. At least they add AoD customization, the UI is prettier. Did you try Quick answer? It was released only on few MIUI 10 devices no it’s on every MIUI 11 devices. It let you answer on a PIP windows resizable and movable, so you donnt have to exit your application
Global version bought in the EU? Can you read me the MIUI version? Something like PKJEUH, PKFMISP, something like that. It should be in the status menu in the settings.
And which phone are we talking about here? I am specifically talking about the 9T PRO
Global dark mode, that’s gotta be better than miui 10
– global dark mode
– better full screen gestures (smoother)
– noticeable performance upgrade (updating apps feels a little bit faster )
– AI better
…
– ok google answer faster now ( i use it a lot )
– and still searching for some new stuff
I heard they pulled off from updates because of some bug? Did they restore the updates yet?
I really hope they are fixed on 11
Pretty comprehensive list, but imo they are mostly minor changes and does not reinforce the user experience much. The only thing I love is the AOD animations, that’s pretty cool.
Have little differences between 11 and 10 but not like 9 vs 10
Me too.
I am waiting for miui 11, but only for notifications fix in notched phones, especially on my note 7.
I don’t have that issue honestly. FYI mine is an Indian variant.
I still don’t have Dark Mode on Gmail. Play Store and Instagram Dark Modes are working though.
I fucking love that sub
OP is bad at spotting differences.
Between battery savings on OLED and not burning my retinas out or waking wife up despite my phone being on the lowest possible screen brightness. Otherwise is a matter of aesthetic preference, channeling your inner #holoyolo.
I’m using MIUI 10 with Android Pie on my Redmi Note 7, it already has system-wide dark mode, and one thing that surprised me is: play store, gmail, instagram and many more actually switched to dark mode automatically if I switched the dark mode on, on a frickin Android Pie.
I’m waiting for Android 10 not Miui11
You should install PocoLancher (it’s an official Xiaomi app) from Play Store.
There’s also shortcut on icons app in system launcher
7 month, after a miui update I started having issue like Gps not found in games and maps. It’s really frustrating
Xiaomi has waaay better full screen gesture controls.
what issue?
I got the MIUI 11 update on my Mi9t, but there are some features missing eg. There is no app drawer, there are no 24h wallpapers and its still android 9. Any ideas?
How can I access the App Drawer?
Also, will the Ultra Power Saving Mode come with android 10, because I can’t find the option.
Now that you’ve dragged Xiaomi’s family into this, I can’t just scroll away without mentioning another one of their family member. The Redmi Note 6 Pro! Xiaomi’s unwanted child. No one really knows why they made it. They don’t give a shit about this device. It was not even mentioned in the original list of devices for MIUI11 release plan. Even the Note 4x got a mention. It’s getting update in November whereas it’s predecessors get it this month.
Mine doesnt look like that tho, they changed the icons for me also
Any improvement on battery lasting time?
just saying you are not actually using the official MIUI 11
that being said you are probably using the best MIUI 11 experience to the common user XD
because he’s using [Xiaomi.EU](https://Xiaomi.EU) is a custom rom based on the official china estable MIUI 11 with improvements (like app drawer)
I hope it will fix the GPS issue on the note 7
Had integrated recording call function on global version when I bought mi 8 in EU. Later switched to beta, no big difference, but call recording I had since miui 7 on all owned devices.
Actually saying, don’t even remember why I switched to beta, maybe for weekly updates, well, now I can name it yearly updates 🙄
They have the list online
Speaking of which, when is Android 10 supposed to come to the global version?
[That’s why I made this 3 days ago.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomemes/comments/dm4ua8/second_meme_ever_made_from_me_i_hope_you_like_it/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
Holy fuck dude chill. All he said was he didn’t like MIUI
😄😄😄 i deserve that
Miss the call recording tho
I’m on Mi 9T MiUI 11 but it hasn’t even an app drawer
Lol. Past mi a1 and a2 user here. Xiaomi support for android one phones are shit. You dont know what you got into.
Wanting the fastest Android OS updates was a fucking stupid reason to get into the A1 program. You are an idiot, should have done your research
Now if you fib and say you got into a1 program due to being as close as the original android os, id accept that. That was my reason too. But not for getting the latest updates, you are Xiaomi’s stepchildren
Im on global mi 9t pro
Even though i am not in EU, the dialer is google dialer and not the more capable mi caller. Now i can’t record calls
Only the IN and CN roms allow that, while the global (MI) kinda follow the EU
I hope going to MIUI 11 would change this
Fucking EU and their privacy legislations.
Miui 11 is better with Android 10 . It’s excellent .
But based on Android pie nothing has changed at all just new colors and new icon packs
And, did you get Android 10?
