Do I have to backup photos & apps before updating or all the photos & apps which supports 8.0 will be there even after the update ?
I hope they will add them too, but adaptive icons should be among their priorities because some of the icons changed, they are now in a circle but they weren’t, looks a bit odd

You can force stop the Google Services Framework and clear its data then try checking for system update again. But I’ve read somewhere that doing so messes up with your device so do it at your own risk.
Shit, have they really done a Night Mode removal from QS (unless you had it enabled previously on the DP3) again but for swipe for notifications?

Yes thats why 3rd step is important or else your email wont get sync and other syncing problems.I did these steps for my last 3 updates no problems encountered.

The nougat installed apps & pictures will be there even after the update ? I thought the update will clean everything like a factory reset as it a new software and all.
Lol, Motorola already released Oreo for it’s Android one version of X4 and then released for the normal one too so yeah still catching up to do.. Still I commend Xiaomi to keep their promise

I did the factory reset via settings and after playing around with the Oreo update for an hour or so but not immediately after boot.

Factory reset helped me get rid of scrolling stutter. Cannot comment about the hissing sound though.

it’s not an app, but a feature that allow you to keep watching a video window while using another app. I’ve tried using YouTube app, watching video on full screen and when I touch the home button, it’s closed.
Can you find the adaptive icons setting? Or is it missing?

I know that bud, what I’ve asked is what’s the app you are using. PiP won’t work on YouTube unless you have a YouTube Red Subscription which is not yet available in many countries. These are the the five Countries Red is available Australia,
Korea,
Mexico,
New Zealand,
The United States, if you are not in one of the countries above you can’t use the PiP Mode in YouTube, but you can use it in Chrome.
Still nothing in Croatia.

Quick charging isn’t there in the update. i tried charging with the oneplus dash charger but it charges normally. It only shows Charging rapidly with both Mi charger and OnePlus charger

For users not getting update follow these steps:
1.Go to apps in settings and click on three dotted menu in top right corner and select show system apps.
2.Then select google services framework and clean data.
3.Then select google play services and clean data(if you dont then there will be syncing problem ).
4.Now check for the update.

Yes the swipe fingerprint sensor gesture feature (Option) is completely gone. I don’t know whether they will add it again in an update or not. Looks like you’ve enabled this feature before the Oreo update because for users who haven’t enabled this before the O Update the gesture doesn’t work & there’s no way to turn it off or on unless they use a 3rd party app & you can disable the feature too unless you use a 3rd party app for it or else it will be turned on until an update comes or until Android P.

Yes. Screen is much better, so is the loudspeaker. Despite having less battery capacity, it lasts much longer compared to the duration my new RN3 used to last. Personally I like the stock Android. Camera is litlte bit of an improvement.
