Nope, everything is working fine.
Quick charging isn’t there in the update. i tried charging with the oneplus dash charger but it charges normally. It only shows Charging rapidly with both Mi charger and OnePlus charger
I just updated
And OP, the Swipe for notifications in gestures is missing right ?
My RN3 got stolen a month ago 🙁
Yes, I’ve tried that way, no luck.
No problem.
Props to you dude it works!!
You can force stop the Google Services Framework and clear its data then try checking for system update again. But I’ve read somewhere that doing so messes up with your device so do it at your own risk.
Same
Did you factory rest via settings or recovery ?
Should I do this ASAP after Oreo has been booted ?
Mine still working. Try restarting your device.
It’s missing. Many Android O features isn’t available.
Is this phone a good upgrade over a RN3 ?
same here chale…..
I did the factory reset via settings and after playing around with the Oreo update for an hour or so but not immediately after boot.
Thanks, works for me.
Oh really? Then it’s a bummer. I’ve tried on Chrome as well, but same result, the app is closed when I hit the home button.
What a luck! Just as I clicked on this post, I got a notification of Android O update. Xiaomi, you are amazing.
P.S: obviously its co-incidence.
Just got it
No, it doesn’t. Still need to enable it manually.
Lol I don’t know. Happy New year anyway 😉
Thank you I’ll do that If I get any issues.
Guys i can confirm this is Oreo, it’s written in the notification bar, that’s it’s im quoting “Dec 2017 with Android O”
I love it when companies stick to their promises. Guess I’ll havy my brand loyalty to Xiaomi from now on <3
Just ran through these steps and have the update notification, thank you!
Thank you because Im having some 25+ GB amount of movies & tvseries thats why I don’t want it to be erased with this update
Yes. Screen is much better, so is the loudspeaker. Despite having less battery capacity, it lasts much longer compared to the duration my new RN3 used to last. Personally I like the stock Android. Camera is litlte bit of an improvement.
Best thing for me…excellent memory management!
Well im proud that Xiaomi kept their promise, I’ve always believed in them. Now i’m just waiting for people to complain “where’s android 8.1?!?!?!”
Fuck theives.
A sidegrade. Less powerful, smaller battery.
Better build, better camera, USB-C and updates.
Yes, everything stays exactly as it were on nougat.
Same still nothing
I know that bud, what I’ve asked is what’s the app you are using. PiP won’t work on YouTube unless you have a YouTube Red Subscription which is not yet available in many countries. These are the the five Countries Red is available Australia,
Korea,
Mexico,
New Zealand,
The United States, if you are not in one of the countries above you can’t use the PiP Mode in YouTube, but you can use it in Chrome.
It’s works , thanks nilesmon
From India, still waiting for oreo
Yes thats why 3rd step is important or else your email wont get sync and other syncing problems.I did these steps for my last 3 updates no problems encountered.
I’m a bot, *bleep*, *bloop*. Someone has linked to this thread from another place on reddit:

Did you force stop them as well?
Xiaomi delivered on their promise.
My dialer gone missing, how do I recover back the dialer?
Do I have to backup photos & apps before updating or all the photos & apps which supports 8.0 will be there even after the update ?
Catch them and get your phone back first
Wait, so that Nougat? Looks like the Oreo notification shade.
I see an option to clear play services cache but not data?
Definitely me!
Still nothing in Croatia.
Edit: just got it.
OP, got any bugs like camera not opening & swipe for notifications gesture doesn’t work ?
it’s not an app, but a feature that allow you to keep watching a video window while using another app. I’ve tried using YouTube app, watching video on full screen and when I touch the home button, it’s closed.
Holy cow, for real ?? Xiaomi hands down you are the best.
Ugh.. what’s wrong with them. 🙁
The picture-in-picture feature is not working.
Nothing special. Came by itself as a normal update
Defiantly!
I haven’t got the update yet bud to confirm anything, ask the OP /u/Santr
Thanks for the reply, yep only a few users are reporting this I don’t know what happened.
Quick charge enabled? January security patch?
Nothing yet from Thailand
Shit, have they really done a Night Mode removal from QS (unless you had it enabled previously on the DP3) again but for swipe for notifications?
Can I get a screenshot of your settings/gestures page please?
No qc for me.
Yeah, there is only “jump on camera” gesture.
Do you mean swipe fingerprint sensor gesture?
I have it, maybe try a restart?
Also delete carrier data.
Yeah i enabled it on nougat and its working on oreo for me
No updates here in Nepal as well 🙁
Installed Oreo on Mi A1 but swipe fingerprint scanner to pull notifications is missing 🙁
Update: It’s working after performing a factory reset.
Ahh yes, YouTube Red aka it’s a region specific feature.
[NewPipe](https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.schabi.newpipe/) is a good alternative for those in most parts of the world.
OnePlus did the same thing last year
You dont have to backup
Nothing showing up for me yet in Australia, I know what I’ll be doing for the day now ^constantly ^refreshing 😂
Edit: able to download now using u/nilesmon method in his comment
It worked on the first try thanks!
You are lucky 🙂
México here and nothing yet.
this is not PiP, it’s multiwindows. Only PiP on Youtube require Youtube Red
Can you find the adaptive icons setting? Or is it missing?
This worked, thanks!
Yes you are correct. I misunderstood. My bad.
Wait, so that Nougat? Looks like the Oreo notification shade.
Xiaomi sent me a message saying ‘everyone on /r/Xiaomi who says the update wouldn’t come in 2017 will not be receiving the OTA on their Mi A1s’.
The chosen one
Still can’t detect 🙁
Thank you so much, done this and it appeared immediately, can’t wait to try it
Which ones are missing?
Yes its Oreo!
Me too but my belief was slowly fading away as 2017’s end was getting closer lol
Same here.
Did they seriously call Prophet [Dan](https://github.com/morrildl), Dan Morris?
Banned from acj.
Xiaomi is the new 2013-2015 Motorola
Germany here. Downloading 🙂
I hope they will add them too, but adaptive icons should be among their priorities because some of the icons changed, they are now in a circle but they weren’t, looks a bit odd
Works for me though. [Screenshot](https://i.imgur.com/dN3EkVK.png)
And I’m not using YouTube Red
There should be a new dialer app in the app drawer, if not – download Google Dialer from Play Store
It worked, just had to check two or three times before getting the notification. Thanks!
Which is interesting because of the recent update for dual SIM support in the Contacts app
https://redd.it/7iaoyi
Restarted but no luck.
For youtube videos you need to select desktop site and play videos in full screen, it’ll work after that
For users not getting update follow these steps:
1.Go to apps in settings and click on three dotted menu in top right corner and select show system apps.
2.Then select google services framework and clean data.
3.Then select google play services and clean data(if you dont then there will be syncing problem ).
4.Now check for the update.
And Happy New Year everyone.
Weird wasn’t the beta on January patch? Maybe it was a typo?
I followed his steps exactly and after a few tries of checking the update, it appeared.
What’s the build number on this one? Is it the same as the one on http://en.miui.com/getrom-333.html?m=yes&mobile=2 ?
Indeed.
Factory reset helped me get rid of scrolling stutter. Cannot comment about the hissing sound though.
It is! [Picture](https://i.imgur.com/mlxEGWM.png)
Really? Can you screenshot please.
Yes the swipe fingerprint sensor gesture feature (Option) is completely gone. I don’t know whether they will add it again in an update or not. Looks like you’ve enabled this feature before the Oreo update because for users who haven’t enabled this before the O Update the gesture doesn’t work & there’s no way to turn it off or on unless they use a 3rd party app & you can disable the feature too unless you use a 3rd party app for it or else it will be turned on until an update comes or until Android P.
idk about qc but it’s december 1st security patch
Haven’t returned yet. And the swiping feature is missing in gesture section.
What’s the app ?
No need to clean Play Services data, GSF is enough. Got the update that way
Not working for me. Anything that I could be doing wrong?
http://www.talkandroid.com/185088-google-engineer-explains-why-you-shouldnt-clear-google-services-framework-data/
“Through a Reddit thread, Morris essentially said that clearing the service framework data will break things. He said that doing so essentially changes the ID of your device, so as far as servers are concerned you have given your device a factory reset. This will then invalidate tokens used by any app that uses GCM, which includes almost all Google apps and a number of third party apps. Apps like Gmail will not get notifications for a while, but will eventually be fine. Other apps will simply cease to get GCM-push notifications until they get a new GCM ID, which might take a while.”
I just found another user saying the same in the Telegram group.
If they’ve removed that I’m gonna be so miffed.
What if I was stupid enough to do that? What now?
Lol, Motorola already released Oreo for it’s Android one version of X4 and then released for the normal one too so yeah still catching up to do.. Still I commend Xiaomi to keep their promise
W00t? Didn’t receive the update yet. That’s good news
My A1 got stolen a month ago. Feels bad man 🙁
The nougat installed apps & pictures will be there even after the update ? I thought the update will clean everything like a factory reset as it a new software and all.
I read this in Teal’cs voice, dunno why
Downloading! Hopefully!
Does this update enables camera2 api??
Just now updated, you will get soon.
