That’s Mix 3 5G, Mix 3 has sd845 also has NFC and smaller battery
But Oppo released a phone recently with 65W charging. So we are 65% to reach a peak, not so far eh? Also batteries now costs like $10 maximum and replacement is quite easy too. So paying roughly $30 a year for battery replacement is a trade off for 100W charging speeds i am willing to take
I noted that too. The colors in the Mix 2s IPS are way better than the AMOLED on Mix 3 (except blacks and angle vision ofc). Sometimes the Mix 3’s get very dull, without any options to disable. I ended up activating enhanced contrast but sometime is just too colorful, but there’s no midpoint unfortunately (im waiting android 10 to make a flash from scratch).
The mix 2s would have been perfect of the selfie camera would be on top of the phone, like most regular phones.
>QC already kills your battery much faster than regular charging
Link**S** to HARD data please?

I don’t need full battery capacity on my phone most days. Only when I am going on a long bus ride or something similar, I have to charge my phone to 100%
Wow.. their “flagship”
That 100W charging seems a bit unrealistic. I mean, most notebooks don’t go that high, and we are talking about a phone with a single cell battery. However I look at it, that would mean 26A into a 3.7V cell, which would need some pretty fancy battery tech. Discharging a battery at that rate can cause issues, let alone charging it.
But I might be wrong. Regardless of the battery, the phone looks great and I might even get one if it finally supports DP output over the USB-C connector.
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Xiaomi-s-new-100-W-fast-charging-technology-fully-charges-a-4000-mAh-battery-in-just-17-minutes.443747.0.html
According to the above, if a 4000mah 3.7V battery can be charged in 17mins from 0 to 100, that means an average of 52.2W of power, so if that’s true, the 100W figure must be a peak value, which is more likely to be the case.
I don’t think that’s accurate, because the processor is the same, only the modem is different. Do you have more information about it? Or is it just a thought?
Maybe it will be switchable from options.
So 120 hz for gaming, then go back to 30 or 60 for normal use.

Does the battery lasts you a day?
Ohw, I haven’t read if they’ve just used the renders of the mix 3. Thanks, that fooled me quite good
Wow this is actually high iq move. Interesting.
For me it was between these two, but ended up impulsively getting the Mix 3 because it was on Amazon for a good price. Besides, I always found the slider mechanism really cool.
It’s possible to make a battery that is made of two separate batteries and charge them both at lets say 50w at the same time. I’ve seen a video on it somewhere. I think OPPO does something like this.
Yeah but.. if you follow the recommended less than 85%, then what was the point? You’ll never get full battery capacity anyways.
Very much so. I’d say much better than the Pixel 3 and probably a bit longer than the Pixel 3a in daily use.
I got one a few weeks back, best phone I ever had. Though, coming from a Huawei phone, the bar wasn’t exactly high.
I need this to be true so badly. I was heartbroken when they dropped the Mix Alpha as the supposed successor to the Mix 3 at $2000 in a completely unpractical (albeit stunning) form factor. I don’t need the 100W charging or even the 120 Hz screen to be true although it would be welcome, I just need the Mix “4” to be true
What do you guys think about buying Mi mix 3 (sd855) in 2020?
and
https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/battery-degradation-scientifically-explained.153074
The processor is not the same. The 4G version uses the SD845 and the 5G version uses the SD855.
If it comes true will it be announced alongside Mi 10 / Mi 10 Pro do you think ?
You got Mi mix 3?
You don’t want it – 11 sux
The 5g one apparently only got miui 11/Android 10 in the chinese beta by now, unlike the regular Mix 3 or the Mix 2s which are older. It’s a bad sign at least.
That’s what the rumors were saying before it launched, and then when it launched they said it’s not a successor. But then gave no Mix 4 details
“mix”ed it, thanks for the correction
100Watts? Will xiaomi pay for my electric bill?
I’m not sure how that’s relevant to this phone though, and specifically, as he said, the 5G versions.
He said it uses a different modem, and it does, and that version has had less support.
I really wish they would have a uSD slot. The only reason why i dont get one.
they are not pure graphene, seems they use it on the electrodes to make them whistand higher currents
It will *destroy it*, QC already kills your battery much faster than regular charging.
Not gonna use this 100w with my Mix.
Thank you, very informative short article. I was under the impression that transmittance through turned off Oled wouldn’t affect the light intensity this much.
It would explain that the fingerprint scanner under the screen need that bright light, though.
Never thought about it that much. It figures that a full camera would need more precision than a fingerprint scanner and the full colour range with all the light intensity it can possibly get. Cool to know.
Techaltar?
I didn’t expect a manual slider design again. I’d have thought that they try an under screen front camera
There is Xiaomi.eu ROM. I’M currently using it on Mi Mix 3 5G. But it’s stuck on 10.3.17 version (actual China is on (10.3.18) and there is no Miui 11 on the horizon.
Charging to 100% doesn’t happen any more though. Your phone displays 100% but it isn’t fully charged.
I was considering it. But I went for the Mi 9T Pro instead.
But I’m thinking of selling and buying new one. Like Mi 10 or this Mix 2020 🤔
Fk I just bought the mi note 10
It better have 5000mah
They’re not supporting it anymore apparently .
I bought one just a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. The camera is great, especially with gcam, and the battery does really well despite its 3200mah size. It’s definitely efficient these days.
Highly recommended for the value.
I wonder how many people will go for this Vs Mi 10 (Pro) ?
I find the 3a and Mix 3 to have very similar battery life, went from Mix 3 to 3a in September.
Yeah, I got the Mix 3 and than went back to my trusty Mix 2s. Wish more phones would use high quality LCD’s rather than AMOLED’s.
120 hz that means the battery will drain fast
> they dropped the Mix Alpha as the supposed successor to the Mix 3
It was never meant as a successor to the Mix 3.
It’s got basically none. Not even a Xiaomi.eu ROM or its own XDA Developer thread.
Because – I think – 5G versions are harder to support due to the different modem
100W and only 2 cameras?
Mine is more than a year old and it’s still amazing. You should get the 5G version because of the bigger battery. But if you are on a budget, go for the 4G one.
I find it high, in the Mix 3 according to software, it reaches 4393 mV at 100%, however cellphone batteries usually have different voltages ranges than usual flashlight batteries. Even newer LiPOs have higher max voltages and lower min voltages, so it’s hard to know for sure if they are being filled to 100% or not. What i know for sure is that the 0% is higher than the minimum for the battery.
There’s an older graphene battery powerbank, with awful reviews and leaking batteries.

Yes
I didn’t think that we will reach a peak 100W charging for usb type-c so fast. Now its the time to reinvent the usb port if they want to go beyond 100W
I’d be glad if they moved the naming convention to include the year rather than sequence
Got the 4G, didnt know the 5G got less support, what about custom ROMs?
Hope this comes true 🙂
About time man…
That explains why its currently cheaper than the 4G model
It all depends on what battert will they use. For today standards, even 50w can harm battery’s lifetime after some time..
Still rocking the Mi Mix 2s, unfortunately I dropped it last week and the battery isn’t that good anymore after 2+ years, so hoping the mix 4 will release soon.
Still got my OG Mi Mix. Maybe this one will give me reason to upgrade, but not really holding my breath.
All super awesome, but please make smartphones smaller again
The selfie camera quality increases a lot with gcam, give it a try.
I’m still waiting on the mi notebook redesign 🙁
Yeah, but the 100W ceiling doesn’t really matter right now…
We barely have 30W charging phones on the market, the 100W maximum for Type-C is irrelevant if our current battery technology can barely handle a third of it, what we really need to reinvent are our batteries…
How bad is 100W charging for a battery?
Not so sure about that. Charging to 100% is definitely more harmful
I have read an article that says why xiaomi can’t make 100w, yet is that; for example a 4000mah battery with 100w charging becomes 3200mah cause of degradation or something like that. If this leak is true then maybe they’ve already manufactured a graphene battery.
Why?
If the S20 Ultra starting price will be 1299$, I ask myself why costly innovations with huge benefits for us users are still unreachable..
Ohhh I was just looking at the MIUI 11 forum my bad. No MIUI 11 isn’t ideal
Yes, but if you want more frequent updates, you should get the 4g one
And i will poop gold. Just a leak.
>This has adverse effects on health of battery
Thats is undeniable, but you said ” QC already kills your battery **much faster** than regular charging”, thats why i was interested in data, numbers, statistics. Thanks for the link/thread, will give a read tomorrow, I have to go to bed early tonight.
EDIT: Just read it and zero data, such a disappointment
It depends on how you charge them, for example Tesla is implementing trials for a new charging system where the batteries are heated during charging allowing for much higher charging speeds without degradation. Furthermore solid state batteries are finally expected to hit markets in the next 2 years solving most of the charging issues of their lithium ion siblings.
Sorry, I was not clear. What I mean is that the processor is just the standard snapdragon (855 in this case) and they use another modem for 5G, which was not integrated in the processor (like in the 865 for example).
5G also has NFC but there is no wireless charging.
Yeah, but the 3a does have a less powerful but arguably more efficient processor. So it’s probably a wash, but the mix 3 does really well for the size of the battery.
Sucks that Xiaomi only make huge phones these days.
>Adverse effects of quick charging: Quick charging, turbo charging, adaptive fast charging, rapid charging are different names meaning the same- fast charging. OEMs have implemented it under various trade names ) speeds up charging process by increasing power. **This has adverse effects on health of battery**
[More here](https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/138597/fast-charging-by-qualcomm-3-0-impact-on-battery)
Sure the tech is getting better but its still better to use a regular charger, specially since getting new and legit OEM batteries is near impossible.
The USB port itself is not the bottleneck in this, it’s our batteries…
Charging our common Lithium-Ion batteries at 100W fucks them up because of the intensity of the energy flow, it ends up diminishing its capacity and lifetime, if Graphene batteries weren’t super expensive we would have 100W charging by now…
That’s not how it works… It’d consume 100 watts for a short period of time, once the battery is near 80-100% the output stabilizes way lower than 100 watts.
But still, if we even had graphene batteries, 100W is a ceiling for type-c. I think we are more close to get new type of batteries than we are to getting a new port
If they are using those round edge screens (like mi note 10), I will skip it.
You mean the 5G? sure, if you can get a good price, else I would get the 9Tp
Inb4 xiaomi made multiple 200 mah baby batts
they drop it really fast in favor of mi9/mi9 pro and the mi9T/mi9Tpro
And still my Mix 3 5G hasn’t got MIUI 11
I know what may have. I need facts.
I didn’t see a reference to a manual slider design (That’s a photo of the Mi Mix 3 in the ad).
I bought the Mi Mix 3 when it launched, and I still love this phone. My only reason for upgrading would be a Mi Mix 4.
It would be best if you explain him the difference between power and capacity. Most people use mA and mAh interchangeably.
I won’t but he is welcome to google it up if he cares enough.
