Better than the rumoured price I guess. And if you want notchless display, this is the phone to buy.
I’m assuming the 6+128 version will use LPDDR4X and UFS 3.0 instead of LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 just like with the K30 Pro.
Yeah much better. I may not be €299 like the Poco F1, but I still think it’s a good price considering the improvements and how much flagships cost this year.
BangGood description of the phone says it uses the DDR4 with UFS 3.1 but that might be inaccurate. It would be dope if it was true though.
Edit: Yup it’s true it’s on Poco official website: \* 8GB+256GB variant equipped with LPDDR5+UFS3.1, while 6GB+128GB variant equipped with LPDDR 4X+UFS3.1.
And 60hz.
I am between this and OP 7 Pro. What do you guys think?
But this is primarily a performance/gamer phone, if you need a better camera there are other options
Yeah it’s not much more than a CPU upgrade compared to last year, but as someone who didn’t buy the Mi 9T Pro because I didn’t need a new phone yet this is a great phone at a decent price.
I don’t know where you live, but where I live the OP7 Pro is still almost €600. The OnePlus may have a better camera, but this is cheaper and has a more recent CPU.
I will buy it from China for about 500€ . The official store does not have stock. I live in Greece btw. Also camera is not a deal breaker for me.
I bought the 9T pro a few days ago because tbh, the Poco F2 Pro is not really appealing to me.since. It offers quite some.up – and sidegrades.
Big display is great. I like big displays, but the 9T Pro is big enough for me. The newer processor is good, but 5G is useless for me and drives the price up, at least IMO and in my country (Germany). No OIS is also meh, and for me personally the weight could have been less.
For the price it’s a good phone, but looking to my needs / priorities it’s got some side and downgrades
8GB version not available anywhere?
Really wish they would’ve done an in between 8/128 variant like the K30 pro. Oh well
Is 5G really that important right now?
Wouldn’t you prefer 4G and 90Hz for the same price?
What would you suggest? I’d like to upgrade my OP3T, but xiaomi has so many models i am struggling to find the right one.
I’m definitely not interested in gaming, but i’m int. into a good camera.
For now it’s not relevant at all tbh. The point is that it will be in the future. I’m looking for a 5G phone right now because I usually keep my phones for several years, so when 5G will be mainstream I’ll be able to use it without needing a new phone.
It depends on you then. Keep also in mind that the €500 Poco has only 6GB of ram. But in the end if you don’t care about the camera it all comes to which UI you like better.
Thing is i have not any experience with Oxygen OS nor with MIUI. Internet says that Oxygen OS is a pretty good Android skin. And i believe is faster and more fluid than MIUI.
True. Also i think the 8Gb version will drop at 500 pretty soon. It’s a Xiaomi after all
Yeah I think so too. Now I’m just waiting for the 6GB version to drop under €400, then I’ll probably buy it.
OxygenOS is 10x better. MIUI is awful
Mi Note 10
I’ll buy a mi9t pro then where i live 5g will not be ready before 2022 and i think that the SD855 will be more than capable for me.
Gonna have new phone by then anyway
Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition (China) aka Mi Note 10 (Global)
https://www.dxomark.com/xiaomi-mi-cc9-pro-premium-edition-camera-review/
$422
Again, I keep my phones for several years, I’m talking about 4+ years. I sure hope 5G will be mainstream by 2024 lol
The macro doubles as a 2x tele.
What are you talking about, it has OIS now and 5mp telephoto. And why everyone upvotes you? Is everyone dumb here and cant check the specs?
It will be bang average at that unless it has a active fan. Far from industry leading anyway.
It has imx686 with ois and 5mp 2x telephoto camera which can be used for macro shots (telemacro camera). Its a full copy of Redmi K30 pro. Why would they remove ois and telecamera?
“For photography, the F2 Pro sports a quad-camera setup at the back. The setup consists of a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor with OIS, a 13MP Ultra wide-angle lens with a 123-degree FoV, a 5MP Telemacro lens, and a 2MP depth of field sensor. The phone also supports 8K video shooting and super slo-mo videos.”
Don’t think so. The macro lens has a longer focal length than usual, but because it’s a macro lens it most likely has trouble focusing at infinity, meaning it can’t be used as a normal zoom lens.
This one does focus to infinity, ive tried the phone in China xiaomi store.
Poco.net lists OIS in their specification. The telephoto camera on the Mi 9t pro is worse than the cropped image from the K30 Pro’s main sensor, [I’ve seen multiple photo comparisons and zoomed pics look worse most of the time on the Mi 9t pro](https://youtu.be/BKv2qH4tm-E?t=3m33s)
Shootsteady video = OIS?
Does the K30 Pro have OIS or is it only the K30 Pro Zoom version?
Qualcomm builds it into higher end processors, so if a phone has to have flagship performance, then it will have 5g
The redmi k30 pro zoom edition??? I want global versión of that :'((
Okay. I’m still skeptical though. There’s most likely a reason why Xiaomi omitted any mention of zoom capability, and specifically said that the telemacro lens focuses at 3-7 cm.
I think you mean the main lens? Reasoning is a crop in the middle of a 64 mp photo gives a 16 mp 2x zoomed photo…
Ok thats fair i am use to changing every 2 years. I dont like battery in older phones and i often have it already very scratched
Very expensive 🙁
Wait a minute, I may be wrong here. I double-check ed the photo I took, they seem to be 80mm equivalent, which means they are from the k30 pro zoom, which is a thing in China.
Sorry for the mix-up.
at least it is cheaper than 2020 flagships
Jeez, that price.
blame qualcomm and 5G.
New things sell phones/gadgets, sad but true a lot of the time.
I’ve had a 4K TV for years and probably only watched 4K content 1% of the time, if that.
Is this just K30 Pro renamed?
So does it have OIS (on the main camera) or not? Seems to be some discussion. I saw some websites claiming it has OIS…
Might be better getting the redmi k30 pro zoom edition then, pretty much the same but with ois and a Tele camera, for the same or cheaper in some sellers
If that camera is used only for macro shots, how is K30 zoom edition capable of 3x optical and 30x digital zoom with telemacro camera? It can focus on objects from 50mm up to infinity, making it possible to take macro shots using its zoom lenses, but its also capable of focusing on any landscape with optical zoom.
isn’t K series phones suppose to be flagship models? Since when poco became flagship?
But the technology will of also got better and the phone pointless
Where can I buy this in the US?
Yeah, and then people (especially on reddit) will hate Poco because they’re using Mediatek SOC.
real price is 50€ more, so 550€ and 650€
this is a launch discount, it’s in their website
I suspect that they did this because they saw how people didn’t like the leaked prices
Yeah, I agree that the technology will get a lot better in the next years, but I’m okay with it. I’m more interested in 5G because in my country they slowed down the 3G networks really hard a while after 4G became mainstream and I’m afraid they’ll do the same with 5G now. In fact, I’m more than okay with 4G speeds and I don’t think there’s actually the need for a faster network.
New things that are forced, can’t have the 865 without 5G, thanks to qualcomm
Keep your Poco F1s. There is nothing wrong with it!
$541✓(6+128)
$650✓ (8+256)
Can’t complain too much.
Yeah don’t worry they’ll be lower than that. I’m guessing it will still be $499 and $599. European prices are always higher.
Florida
Also, it has only 3 LTE bands! If it can’t function well as a phone then none of the other specs matter.
Just a heads up the Greek one plus retail store runs a 70 euro discount atm bringing the price down to 530, I m tempted to pull the trigger as well man
You best bet is another one Plus. Such as the One Plus 7T. The note 10 is garbage compared to it. Plus One Plus has every single LTE band
Don’t buy it. It has no LTE bands. You can get the One Plus 7 T on Amazon for only $499
The same could be said about 90 Hz. Wouldn’t you prefer 4G and 60 Hz for a lower price?
Yeah it’s fine. It’s actually turned out better than I expected, to be honest.
But everytime there’s a recommendation thread, people always avoid recommending phone with Mediatek SOC for some reason.
I’m willing to pay 100 bucks extra for a 7.2″ screen, but I know it doesn’t work that way.
I got realme x2 pro brand new 8/128 for 330€. Imagine me seeing a “pocophone” worth 600€.
Where? I’m not on Europe so I can’t see the price on their website.
But if what you mean is on Gearbest, that’s just Gearbest thing. Redmi Note 8 Pro launch price is $279 (until now it’s still the same), yet the RRP on Gearbest is $339. Forever discount lol.
Same thing happened on Poco F2 Pro.
$499 price, with $539 RRP.
Agreed, Im fully aware of what 4K looks like, its just not worth the effort or cost to acquire 4K content for me.
Bring back small phones!
In Europe it first launched in Spain, check https://www.mi.com/es
Sadly doesn’t seem to have a global rom for now, only Chinese, there’s not alot of info regarding roms for the pro model even if it’s been released a few weeks ago. I’m also waiting for the xiaomi.eu rom or the global rom, I guess I will wait a while to see if more roms show up or how the community will grow in this model since it’s very similar to the f2 pro.
Is there a phone with same specs except those though?
I would rather prefer an SD card slot than 5G or 90Hz.
100€ more, it’s like they did it on purpose for people to buy the 250GB version.
Also, how is there a Poco F2 Pro, when there is no Poco F2 lol. Usually the better ones come later.
No OIS this is a rebranded K30 Pro.
It doesn’t have OIS.
Yes I would thank you much. Notchless 90 hz! Don’t care slightest for 5g.
No it doesn’t stop bullshitting people.
only zoom
I was just reading about LPDDR5. Is it that much of an upgrade over 4x? If I end up buying this phone I wanted to now know if it was worth paying an extra $100
As expected, minimum LTE bands for North America. I think I’ll wait for mi mix 4 launch.
Reason being the lack of custom roms, due to MTK not disclosing important code to do so.
OIS isn’t here…. Only zoom. – Dana?
IMO 4K is *fine*. It’s “media” as a whole that needs to catch up with the tech. The current standards are still set in 1080p at best and we haven’t really had a push from conventional media as a whole for 4k.
Now if porn could do to 4K what it did to Blue Ray, now **that** would push the standard.
They really love to push this retards 5G….in my country the telco can’t even provide an uninterrupted 4G and now they’re jumping on this 5G bandwagon…if they can give me uninterrupted 4G experience then I’ll give 5G a passed at this moment I don’t see it their 4G is hot garbages and this 5G shit I don’t see it as a necessity… F them
Exactly, not enough content showing the batter actually sinking into her pores.
I mean no kink shaming. Some people would love to see 4K HD baby batter on a woman’s face.
But this is the Pro version. there could be a non pro
Wheres the 90hz?
Looks very nice! If I hadn’t already bought my 8GB K20, I might have considered this one. But the 730 in the K20 already knocks my socks off (coming from a really terrible MTK6753 with only 3GB RAM, not exactly a low bar), and I don’t see any use for 5G for me in the next few years (I only use value carriers, for a tiny heavily firewalled amount of mobile data, strictly for email and the odd thing I need when I’m not on Wifi), so there’s not really any value for me. Plus $599 for 8GB when I got 8GB on my K20 for $260 is hard to swallow…I know the CPU is better but not for me it’s not.
Do other streaming services (or even YouTube, for that matter) offer uncompressed 4K? Genuinely asking.
I thought hte Mix was the flagship?
Mix, Mi & K series are flagships.
The card slot is missing, no thanks
And OIS is missing? My £150 LG G2 in 2013 had OIS
I don’t want to get cancer from 5G, guess I skip.
Pretty sure a flagship is meant to be singular, but I’m not in marketing. 🙂
Jizz that price
yup! till the model become outdated when a new flagship is released. right now, mi 10 pro is the flagship. if they release a mix with top end specs, it will be the next flagship. before mi 10 pro, there was k20 pro or mi 9t pro. so I’m wondering how poco became a flagship?
How pleased are you with the RealMe?
yeah the same could also be said for phones with 1440p display. I would prefer 60hz 1080p for lower price than 120hz 1440p on a fucking phone. Who need that much on a phone screen anyway?
I just have to reply and say that the G2 was an absolutely awesome phone. I replaced it in February 2019, I kept it for years, it never let me down.
I really can’t say for sure but I honestly don’t think so. Yeah, they’re much faster, but LPDDR4X is still so fast that I don’t think you’ll notice a difference in general use.
5G is just another marketing gimmick after pop-up selfie snappers and 108MP sensors!!
How are pop up cameras a marketing gimmick? I for one am never going to buy a phone with cutouts or notches again.
Camera is not the very best (if comparing with flagship level) but it’s enough good. I’ve seen photos in a realme x2 which has the same camera as the pro and they are great, have lots of gcam versions.
Battery is good (5.5-9h SoT) for its mAh it’s good at least on my x2 pro. Inhuman 50W fast charge, but still I’ve taken a decision of not using it everyday, even though it doesn’t get that hot as I thought It’d go. (dual batteries, so it’s like charging at 25w\*2, generating basically the hot of 25w but in more surface I guess.)
Performance and UI is just what you expect from a 8xx of those years, with a good developed OS, almost perfect. Some minimal bugs here and there in the UI, but they are a weird thing to happen, not a common thing as someone would expect from a new brand like Realme.
Thank you so much!
Are you trying to communicate?
same, not gonna buy phone without OIS
they did this to boost the mi10 sales in the western world
Whats my best option here in the UK? I have Poco F1 but looking to upgrade, K30 Pro is $250 on Aliexpress but this will be launching much more expensive.
On GB and BG yesterday I saw the price of ~460€ including shipping (EU priority line, ie no import tax). So it’s a snatch. The screen size is a deal breaker for me tho.
The K30 Pro Is lacking some bands used in UK, like the band 20 for 4G, so reception won’t be good. Other than that you’ll probably be able to flash the global Poco firmware over the chinese one. I’d say you should wait for a while for the price to decrease.
Thank you
Only the K30 pro zoom model has OIS. The Poco F2 pro does not have OIS.
my sister has this phone but on china rom, she’s having some problems i have never faced before on my poco f1.
The notification settings keeps reverting back to none from light up screen.
whatsapp notification not showing up after certain timing, DND mode is never on.
i tried all possible solutions on google, but nothing worked.
if anyone knows how to fix these problems, please send help.
I dunno man, I still haven’t heard complains from Mi 9T/K20 owners, and I honestly think it’s a good trade off for a truly fullscreen display.
Most decent TV’s upscale low resolution content so you don’t need 4k native quality to enjoy it’s benefits. Sure upscaled content isn’t as good as native, but generally is better than 720p or lower ( which is often the case )
Oh, got it. Thanks for the help!
Not a fan of Ghostbusters references I see. Ah well, no matter.
The joys of a monopoly
:'( What if i buy the redmi k30 pro zoom with china rom? I am from Spain. Would you lose any important function?
I have the vice to smash an average of one screen per year. I checked the spare display and it costs 280€ :S
The Mi10 has the same problem (180€ for the screen), so I am hoping to find a phone with a cheaper replacement
I missed that reference by the width of the visible universe
Thanks for the info mate.
Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just use a good case? I used a 360degree aluminum case for about 6 months and while it was fine it made the phone too heavy and too big to carry in my pockets. So I have switched to a graphite case, with a Gorilla Glass screen protector. My phone is still well protected and the glass screen protector feels the same as touching the screen directly.
Another benefit, of using a good case and screen protector is that it’s much easier to sell a flawless phone than one that is best up with scratches.
To answer your question, there is no real way to get around high cost replacement of an smiled screen. You will have a hard time finding a screen for less than $100, which is how much it cost to replace the screen on a Xiaomi Mi8, Mi9 and Mix 3. But still slot cheaper than 280€ which equals $302.
I would suspect that once the Mi10 has been on the market for 6 months inexpensive screens will be available
I have a mi 9t and I bought it mainly for the camera.
I don’t use it that much but it never disappoints and it looks futuristic
I got the S10 Lite for $360 with trade in for my old S7 Edge
Wow, that is a great deal! How do you like it so far? Does Samsung still have theming?
Hi there… anybody have problems with connecting POCO F2 PRO to CAR via USB and use Android Auto? Mine worked for two weeks now after connecting USB the connection is reseting and cannot use Android Auto at all… 🙁 Any IDEAS? I tried: another cable, car stereo factory reset, pohone factory reset… nothing worked… other phones working fine in the same car…
The 6Gb variants comes with LPDDRX4
While the 8Gb is LPDDR5 and both are UFS 3.1 so is there any noticable difference between the two? Is it worth it spend a little more and buy the 8gb? the fact that ram management sucks on miui so i dont know if spending a little more to get 8gb will gonna help
Did you not see all the people burning 5G towers and antennas in the ‘civilized world’ for months?
