> Same as the Pixel 3. All improvement are software based
will the improved software also go on the pixel 3? if so, I see this as a good thing
I’m scared to buy any phone in future. god knows how many camera they will provide on back or whole back might turn into a big camera. but for 2 years i won’t make up my mind buying any phone. 🙂
I’d the MiNote 2 with Gyro supported EIS & it worked so nicely & smoothly while panning around
Im currently using urnyx and it uitilizes all of the cameras. Check it out the option to switch between lenses is also ready in the viewfinder
it’s not just you everyone prefers using gcam. my rn7 and k20 pro with gcam destroys the stock camera. can’t believe pics looks sharp and more detailed with gcam. 🙂
>Now ~~we are talking about flagships.~~ *THIS* is pod-racing!
But i find zooming to be better on stock app. As a student, im constantly struggling to see what my lecturer writes on the board. The zooming on stock is way better compared to gcam (tried both)
I’m the ex user of redmi note 4 as well. and it was a big hit for me. when i got note 4 back then i couldn’t stop myself from loving it. everything was awesome be it for performance, camera or battery, my rn4 never disappointed me. but i have this moon white version of note 7s it feels so premium and performance is also very good. since note 4 i have been a big fan of xiaomi phones.
Oh yes, that’s a point.
On my version I have nightsight on to the left of portrait! I haven’t tried that either 😉 I’m going to be busy
That’s fair, It does depend a lot on personal preference as some people like the overexposed look from Xiaomi versus the more dramatic and contrasty from gcam.
>xiaomi never works on camera
If you look at the old redmi note series like note 4 or note 3 they have come a long way. It was total shit. People just bought that for specs. I had a k6power and my friend had note 4. K6 power was total shit compared to redmi note 4, but camera it was reverse. Redmi note 7 is my first device, it was difficult for me to choose redmi because of camera, but after seeing it personally i changed my mind. Worth for the money. I think they will improve. Mi9 camera is pretty decent according to the pics i saw from the internet.
Which camera sensor are they using??
108MP SENSOR/8K RECORDING/X5 OPTICAL ZOOM!!
EIS
I doubt all features. Some will be exclusive for pixel4
There’s no comparison. GCam has better algorithms to manage photos’ data. There’s no way Xiaomi Camera App can be better at it atm. Sorry to say from a Xiaomi user.
Yes. Mi 10 really could be Xiaomi’s first true camera monster it. As per the sources this device comes with **108.0MP + 12.0MP + 12MP** Triple back cameras and **20.0MP** front camera to enjoy every photography moment of the life. I’m waiting for this phone, whenever it will launch in India, I will definitely buy it.
Can anyone tell me when it will launch in India?
Oh yeah.
As far as pixel phones are considered. I believe they are more of a disaster than Xiaomi phones are. The lack of a wide-angle camera in Pixel 4 is very disappointing. And seeing its performance with the new camera is even further infuriating. I recently saw it’s camera comparison with iPhone 11 and Note 10 and it was blown out of water. I think the safe bet is to buy Xiaomi phones coz obviously, they are inexpensive, furthermore, they provide you with tech all the high and mighty phones are coming up with. I mean a 20k Redmi has a wide angle camera but Pixel 4 doesn’t.
Clicked on with excitement to read what the monstrous specs would be. As soon as i read that the improvement would be a double MP resolution, I laughed and closed the article. As long as a meaningful hardware change isn’t added on the main shooter, my mi 8 (mix 2s, mix 3 also) with a gcam is still my go to all arounder.
Mi10 will have better specs than Pixel and be €300 cheaper lol. God I love Chinaphones.
Same as the Pixel 3. All improvement are software based
It can also be because not every Gcam can utilize the different lenses on a device. The first Gcam version I used for my device could not use the zoom or telelens, only the standard.
Hopefully not an oversized phone like every smartphone nowadays
clearly can see the penguin meme
EIS is pretty fine in my phone though
Same here man. The pictures with the stock cam are better 90% of the time.
But not with regular photo mode, go into “more” and then choose nightsight – you will be blown away.
Yes & future updates are bound to get better & better. Just recently there was a survey asking to choose the best amongst the 4 images shown.
The pictures included texture shots, portrait shots, night shots, lowlight shots etc
I think they were crowdsourcing what pleases to the human eye & looks the best like whether a photo with slight noise but better highlights is better than lesser noise but slightly darker too etc
It’s not they don’t care. They’re on par with all other android phones, but they’re not on par with Pixel camera software. I’d absolutely love some minimal processing setting (a la PureView) too
That is because Google is getting greedy, using old sensor on the pixel 4. They could have upgraded the camera sensor, and with combination of gcam, probably beat everything else except for maybe Mate 30pro. Gcam is google saving grace, without it pixel4 camera is shitty as any other mid-range phone.
It will probably be launched in February 2020.
I think EIS with OIS would be a win-win for all. Because in video recordings I have seen that EIS performs better than OIS at least in Sony phones. They have mastered EIS on videos.
It might be that you are using gcam version 7. That version is not as Sharp as 6.2
I have a 20mp front camera on POCO F1 but the results are awful as compared with Older Samsung phones. Even GCAM wouldn’t help resolve the matter.
Will do, I have not tried that yet! Thanks.
You might not have turned on the HDR enhanced mode. Also, check whether you have the latest port of GCAM for your 9T pro or not.
now this is interesting maybe its time for upgrade from mi8 since mi9 wasnt looking like it was worth it
This clickbait article in a nutshell
>It’s likely that all three features: 5x zoom, 8K recording, and a 108 MP camera could make an appearance on the Mi 10. Or maybe not.
EIS is a big disaster imho. i think ois would be an awesome addition to this.
hmm … I actually didnt myself, thanks for the tip.
exactly. i tried taking photos with my RN7 stock camera and it was painful for my eye to see. all came out with less details and too grainy. idk if it’s happening only with me or not but night sight with stock is total tsunami. photos that i took with night sight looked as if i zoomed and clicked. but Gcam changed my life tbh and i’m happy.
I have no idea which is best for your phone, because I don’t have the same… But I’m going to look it up.
Does it?
Agreed. You have to be extremely stupid to say the Nokia is better. Worse hardware that actually affects performance, cameras that aren’t that good, and the design could definitely be better.
Gcam only truely shines at night. My K20 Pro could almost rival my Nikon D600 at night “auto” mode, without the use of tripod etc. Now i only wish more priority is given to a ultra wide sensor
Definitely! That’s where some google’s woodoo magic software comes to shine.
I don’t understand, I tried Gcam and I find the software and pictures taken with my Mi 9T pro superior to Gcam but it maybe just me!
Make sure you get the best gcam version for your phone, check out xda forums for that, then make sure you have hdr+enhanced activated in the settings and in the viewfinder, push all quality settings to the max (JPEG quality, number of frames for hdr, etc). On some apks you can even load different image processing libraries than the Google stock one.
It’s not lol the videos on this phone are better than the ones in my last Pixel 3 lmao
>exactly. i tried taking photos with my RN7 stock camera and it was painful for my eye to see.
Image quality is great under daylight. No issue here. Mainly i use gcam. But image quality from gcam and stock cam is almost same under day light.
> night sight with stock is total tsunami. photos that i took with night sight looked as if i zoomed and clicked.
Exactly.. night sight with stock cam is total shit. Feels like something shot from a 2mp camera of 2010’s…
Would be interested in USA bands. That’s their problem.
I already have some good suggestions from some of you and I’m saving them for testing on the weekend when I have some time!
thanks, if you find a better version, I’ll also try that !
One of the reasons I got this phone was because of the camera setup. Although triple cameras are more common now, I think the camera still performs very well, especially given what I paid for mine. I love the telephoto but I can confirm the zoomed 48mp shot is only a little worse. I would love 5x optical zoom, that would be such an amazing feature. I’m most disappointed with the ultrawide tbh. The presentation is good but zoomed in you can see the detail isn’t nearly as good. I’m not sure if I’m just pampered by the other cameras or if that’s just the nature of ultrawides. If you haven’t tried already, the new urnyx 2.5 gcam supports 48mp mode with a magisk module. The shots I’ve been able to get with that are unreal.
It was a bit confusing, I got the Gcam [6.2.0.30](https://6.2.0.30) Version: 2.4. by Urnyx05 after seeing it being recommended by someone in this forum I think
I’ll take your advice and exploit it this weekend!
What do you think of this one, as I speak I’m upgrading to v 2.5
not when their software still blows ass and most people install Gcam asap.
Now we are talking about flagships.
Yeah, could be…
But knowing xiaomi, they just don’t care enough for camera software
bottom text
lmao compared to other brands they nail every pics with their stock camera but i don’t quite understand why xiaomi never works on camera. but I’ve to agree with you regarding daylight shots with both gcam and stock one. won’t make much difference though.
Could use some improvements but I am definitely not complaining.
I agree personally yeah, just know that different people like different things like I explained
I find the Mi 9 to have a pretty good camera, and the software is alright too (I personally tried it out when one of my mate’s just bought one, may be subjective opinion), so no, they don’t “don’t care” about the camera. They have improved their camera stuff over the recent years. That is at least some progress.
Team Finland on the other hand, now you can say they “don’t care enough” for their camera and software.
It has double the resolution, but the pixel surface size is the same as the 48mpx sensors. This 108mpx sensor is huge (bigger than the lumia 1020)
That is a huge improvement.
