I often get to the end of the day with over 50% and I’m a heavy user. I haven’t been able to kill the battery on a day’s use. I’m mad because now my power bank is useless hahaha
Well done Xiaomi

Thank you so much! I will try that.
EDIT: It seems that Immensity kernel is for the Pro version and not the K20 (davinci) 😐

how to hard reset my phone , I only have 4-5hours SoT by only playing 2 nba games and browsing the net and some camera app . Also my android system usage and cell standby on battery is high
same , I’m lucky if it reached 7 hours sot
immensity kernel v7 is great with it…and i suggest GCam_7.2.010_Urnyx05-v1.6 for the cam app, best iv tested so far.
Other than the light buzz I am not at all bothered with it. You are the first person I am seeing who has asked about sound rather than picture quality. 😁😁
If you want battery life then MIUI is a way to go. Or if camera quality matters then you need to see elsewhere. 😫
Awesome!
I just downloaded the new MIUI 11 with Android 10 (EU Rom) so let me see how it works out on battery.
i took like 2 weeks trying to decide what phone i would replace my s8 with,im an IT guy so really compared specs and decided on this, the snapdragon 855 is fast and very power efficent! the 9t pro’s screen with overclock to 90hz with xiaomi.eu 11.1 and immensity kernel also
Thanks. I have Bluetooth connections to a Wear OS watch and to a fitness band, so I am working it quite hard. (The connection to the Wear OS watch is annoyingly unreliable. I think power saving on the phone kills it, but that’s probably the subject of another post.)
2% isn’t a lot per hour at all if you have dual sims with dodgy reception and a lot of background syncing apps
2% per hour is fine if you have dual sims and loads of syncing. I go through more than that, especially with all the bluetoth devices I use as well
Upvote if you’re not updating to miui11
Sadly, no, but I already own a Redmi 4X so I’m pretty sure I want to keep MIUI and all the other stuff. I was just worried about the popup camera.
I’ve had the Pro for a month and the battery is insane. I turn it off at night and back on when I wake up and the thing lasts literally 4 days. I love it. Still on MIUI 10.
I wish I could say the same. Mine barely gets a day of use. But I came from mi max 3, so maybe it’s an unfair comparison
Man I’ve fully debloated, disabled settings I never use, turn off scanning and location, auto updates. Freaking everything.
My battery life on my new Mi 9 Lite is about 60-70% as much as my 1.5 year old Redmi Note 5 . Android system and Play Services DESTROY my battery.
My battery is only good since the miui 11 update. I hope the next update fix it for me. I get at Max 7 hours of screen time without games. It is good, but not awesome as the op for instance.
If u want to maximise sot use extreme power saver (dont say its not available there is a way to enable it)
I use a Galaxy s3 watch, bluetooth, wifi, data and NFC all day, so I don’t think thats the issue. I have system-wide dark mode tho..
I charged my phone last night and unplugged before sleeping. It’s 2 pm now and it’s at 82%, after taking a walk and using it for music, using it while I took my morning dump and in bed, and some other light uses
I’m using Mi UI 11.0.1
In a quiet room you may hear a light buzz while it opens and closes. Surely it is won’t cause an issue. Do you have any shops around to check the phone before buying?
Seems the pro version with 800 series is way better than the 730? I don’t know cause with the miui 10 battery is average at 5 hours max sot and 1 1/2 days standby
I was at 2%/hour on MIUI 10 too. I can’t see anything obvious using the battery a lot from what I see in AccuBattery but I have not investigated very much.
As and when we get to a MIUI version with Android 10 I will do a factory reset and see if that helps.
I just got my K20 a week ago. I wanted to unlock the bootloader and load LineageOS on it, so I ran the unlocker program, and it said I had to wait 168 hours. So I put the phone down and waited. 168 hours later, it still had 20% charge.
Some explanation please
i don’t have any xiaomi phones now, but gcam is usually better
You aren’t gonna get any replies like this. Make a post saying that stock cam is the best cam you have used better than all gcam versions you have tried on this phone and see people coming out of woodwork betting the gcam they using can take better pics.
I would be okay even with 25/30%. My Galaxy S8 and my OnePlus 6T are the only other recent phones that would even manage that.
My Pixel 3a would usually die around 8-9 pm, my Galaxy S10 would also last until about 8-9 pm, my Pixel 4 dies around 5-6 pm with the same usage…so I sent it back.
I really hope it does.
This is my first phone that I don’t need to charge overnight. 2 hours at work while I use the computer is enough, sometimes even for 2 days.
the basic is that you still plug in every day, so why does it matter if it is at 45/50% or 25/30% ?
Ah yeah just a reminder to these phones not having Dual Stereo Speakers. Which are not loud at all.. It might not seem bad but in loud places if you don’t have your phone touching you you probably will have no idea someone’s calling. I’m also thinking to buy a phone and I just wanted to spread some info.
I like it and I don’t really care about cameras. I was just curious how loud is it. Also, I really do need a headphone jack.
2% is a lot per hour. If you have MiUI 11 installed its nothing to worry about since everyone has the same problem.. It’ll probably be fixed
Okay let me tell you that everyone has the same issue and It’s started with MiUI 11. Which means it’ll probably be fixed
Go get mi9lite if you don’t like the pop up. It also has quite better cameras in general.
All of the xiaomi phones use up way more battery than they should with the MiUI 11. Especially when you’re not using them you’ll notice the battery go down like on heavy use
Ohhh
Nice and do not update till it gets fixed.
I’ve heard everyone has the same issue. use mobile data as little as you can because that’s what destroys the battery. It’ll probably be back to normal with the next update. Mi9 and Mi9Lite also have the same issue
Don’t enable digital well being, it kills batter
It has some major issues like going down incredibly fast on mobile data even if you don’t use it
I talk quite alot. Still before miui11 IT was much better. Maybe I should factory reset.
Here is some shots.. language is in Finnish but you get the point.

For those who complain about the battery, remove all the shit you’ve installed in the past and you will be amazed by the battery life.
im 2-3weeks with my 9t pro now, i feel the same..im a heavy user and i come home with 50-60%..i dont even charge it everyday.keep a 27w charger in the car for emergency, havnt had to use it yet thought. id imagine if i forget to charge it and it dies i could charge it enough for a day in the time it takes to have a shower in the morning
I typically unplug my phone about 6:00 am every morning. I use my phone for both work and personal use (I work in I.T. as well as help manage production for a local brewery). On average…100+ emails a day, 50+ text messages, 2 hours of phone calls, some social media/YouTube when I have down time, and I stream Spotify for close to 8 hours a day. My Mi 9T still has between 45% and 50% when I plug it in about 10:30 pm.
I am running the latest OTA of MIUI 11 and since Xiaomi cannot seem to figure out how to fix the dark mode, I have not been using it. I have WiFi on 24/7 as well as NFC and Bluetooth (usually connected to either my car or my Galaxy Buds, and always connected to my still ticking OG Moto 360 watch). I also use Whatsapp quite a bit as I have some co-workers in Israel that I talk to on a daily basis (I am in the US).
For real? I used it only 1 week or less on miui 10 so I can’t really tell the difference. But normally I go home with 30-40%. I play a lot though the day, use it for youtube and browsing and many more things. Im pretty satisfied with mi9t battery life
Correct. 🙂
Sorry, phone habits I guess.
End of day i assume
Same goes for the Mi 9T Pro (which I bought as a Redmi K20 Pro). Mine is flashed with a rom by Xiaomi.eu and I’m a moderate to heavy user, still almost half the battery is available. Awesome phone.
U might have some shit draining in background, i think a hard reset might help
Can’t wait to get mine for Christmas! Rn I have a P8 lite 2017 that has a 2 hours battery and I’m not joking. It went from 100 to 81 in 5 hours. Turned fucking off
I get around 9-12 hr sot on evox
Well there are some known issues, which you still can fix (something with the play Services cache) but for me as a heavy user I still believe im at least 15% lower at EoD than I was with 10.
I’m on a mi 9 lite and this is why I haven’t updated.
Need this!!! My Galaxy s9 plus only last about 3 hours.
Does mui11 kill the battery?
I get like 4 hours SOT
What am i doing wrong?
@OP are you using MIUI 10 or “upgraded” to 11?
I love this phone good battery and good quick charge!
no card slot is unacceptable. Should have cut the battery size and give a damn slot
also, your powerbank will still be useful if you dare to leave your home for more than half a day…
It doesn’t work as well for me as for you. AccuBattery, which I installed on Day 1, rates mine at 3600mAh (though I don’t know how much meaning to put on that). I use both SIMs and have multiple email and social media accounts syncing. AccuBattery typically reports they I use 2% of battery per hour with screen off. The battery performance is less than I expected, but good enough to get me through the day, so I haven’t tried anything to optimise.
This is the case for me when I am connected to a wifi. When I am out and about using cellural, there’s a drain of ~3% an hour. I tried multiple things but nothing helped much.
Not load at all. In fact everyone I show it off to says it has a nice pleasant sound.
Download AccuBattery and analyse what’s going on
And the great thing about a battery like that is that you will damage it much less since you would rarely need to drain it fully (which is the most damaging experience for modern batteries). So not only it lasts a lot withing the day, it will last a long term too (though it also depends on many other factors.)
This is kind of normal because when you stretch it over a long period, the idle drain (android system, cellular standby) takes its share of the battery.
broken core parking, one core stays active at 100% speed
I’m saving money for it rn, could someone tell me if the popup camera is loud? Or how loud is it?
I have 9t pro and I get an average use of 8 hours but I am a heavy user, but I expected more tbh
Try using the redmi note 8 pro, even better battery life 😉
So you don’t need it?
Just upgrade to MIUI11 and you’ll be using your powerbank again xD
Before miui11 I got 7-8h SOT with my 9t Pro. Since miui11 I get 4,5 – 5 hours.
Just curious for my own knowledge, what is the definition of a low user, moderate user and heavy user?
go to apps, permissions, autostart and disable the apps
this causes a fuck ton of apps to be automatically started in the background. should fix this.
Same with MIUI 11!
**Amazing**
it’s sometimes a curse 😂😂, somedays the device dies mid day, cause i’m super used to getting 2 days ish battery life & i don’t charge it every night
I got to mine at 3% but after 8-9 hours of screen on time and 13 hours of battery (7 hours of that outside).
Sunday I was at 9 hours SoT at 15% and all the time the phone was on there was either YouTube or a game running. Yesterday with a lot less usage I got to 5 hours at 10%. Don’t know what’s going on at all.
Yeah same for me, sometimes I don’t charge it, and use it alot for 2 days, and there’s stil 10 percent left
