Thanks for the mod tip! Been out of the odin loop for 5 years.
Is odin still the go-to tool, or is there (praise lord) some even easier install procedure today? As few steps as possible?
I have a big need to be able to delete any locked app I want.
I am quite happy to be honest. I upgraded to pie with no problems. Using it rooted with camera2api enabled for better photos. Battery life is still really good!
How is your A2 lite now? How has your perspective of it developed?
Does the A2 Lite accept the newest Android version (9 Pie)? Or is there only one Xiaomi phone that is compatible with Pie?
looks like he dropped it 5 times
Oof
After some days, the a2 lite seems a bit faster
Seems to be that way. It’s the fucking ak47 of the CPUs. Not really good at anything but really ok at everything.
Yeah! It fits him perfectly though, because he hates big phones (misses the old Iphones) and it seems that all the new nice phones have 6.5 inch form factors. It is really suiting him. And he doesn’t really do any premium functions on it, just messages and facebook and a few apps and occasional videos. So he’s extremely happy so far!
I can confirm. I destroyed my Axon 7 and got the A2 lite. It’s very solid for normal use but lacks a lot “luxury stuff” that I really miss like stereo speakers and a 1440p Amoled screen to use daydream. So I use it until I can afford a 2019 flagship and keep it as a backup phone (it’s perfect for this task).
Meh, I’m just clumsy personally. No one’s ever bought me a smartphone, I pay for them myself but I still broke my last 2. It’s not like I enjoy having to buy one every year but even with protective cases I still somehow manage to break the screen in a year. My current one (Huawei P10 Lite) will be a year old in a couple days so fingers crossed, I hope I can stay with it at least an extra year so the techology jump is more worth it.
Can vouch for the A2 Lite as well. Awesome compact size, 0 bloat, Pie just dropped with features like Adaptive Battery & Adaptive Brighness. Might lag a tiny bit here and there but I can live with it, oh yeah and battery life is excellent as well.
Do get a screen protector some time, because it scratches easily as I hear (I for one haven’t had any problems yet: 2-week phone).
Oh ok! Thank you, I just made the correlation between the two.
I wonder if the Snapdragon 625 would be the SoC that has one of the longest if not the longest time in production.
Sort of like how some car manufacturers kept using a particular engine for their cars in production for years, only making minor changes in between but still keeping the same basic design.
Great to hear this. Just recommended it to a friend, but I’ve never actually had the phone.
Friend broke his 500 Euro phone, and was terrified of getting another…. Told him he could do it for 130, and it would be equal or better than his old phone. I hope he likes it!
This may sound weird but… do you notice any difference in performance?
636 is the new 625
It’s not intact, but indeed the worst part is on the glass protector
I’m going to make a wild guess and say that you didn’t saw my comment in which I say that my 4yo cousin dropped it. But yeah, I even had a glass on top of it, I have no idea how he could do that to it, but I wouldn’t called spoiled a kid with little to no motor skills.
good title
I blame myself
Yes
I think most people are missing that there’s a glass screen protector on there, and the edges have lose their glass (very common), causing them to roll up.
The actual screen under there probably only has a few small cracks at worst.
Idk man but it happened with mine, I now charge it during the day like when I’m eating or homework
this is still a thing? I don’t think so
The battery is great! BUT DO NOT CHARGE IT OVERNIGHT. I went from one charge for a day and a half to having to charge at the end of the day. Not bad but still.
The Lite is great!!! Have fun!!!! Snapchat is good speed wise, but when posting pictures it turns out kinda bad. On Instagram when viewing stories it cuts off some of the text/ image.
I’ve been using the A2 lite for about 3 weeks and I love it, especially the battery, I get on average 10 hours of SOT.
Good SoC indeed. My parent lost his call-only phone (used iPhone 4 he bought for $70). I recommend him the redmi 4 prime as that is the most compact (, dual sim, and decent SoC).
(Fast forward 1 year) Right now it receives MIUI 10 (android 6.0) and is still has amazing battery life, and even works very well to replace his galaxy note 5 when the battery died
Maybe some people just really test everything they own? I skateboard, workout, bike etc and usually my phone has to keep up with me. I’ve noticed that newer phones are nowhere near as robust as they used to be so I switch devices almost every year since my old Nokia 625 which was a tank.
I miss my ReNo 4. Have been using for 2 years and give it to my father. Build like a tank, performs like a champ.
I agree to this.. the sad state is that people are careless even with expensive flagship phones let alone budget devices.
That’s what Android One stands for
Just got the Mi A2 lite as well. No regrets. Very great phone.
Before or after?
^^^^^in ^^^^^before ^^^^^”yes”
Doesnt tak3 much for phone screens to absolutely get rekt. 1 unlucky drop is all it takes. My phone fell out of my jeans pocket (fuck jeans pocket, shallower than the himalayas) and boom, there goes the screen, which was in perfect condition prior to that. Shit happens
Hey, I just got it aswell;
I think some people couldn’t care less about their cheap phones. 160€ for the a2 lite is still a lot of money, but it doesn’t kill to lose that kind of money. Destroying a 600€ phone? Hurts more. Then again you mentioned your brother that destroys his iPhones. I kept my iPhones in good shape because they have insane resale value. Who the fuck buys a two year old Xiaomi Phone for a good price? Nobody. A screen protector and case is minimal effort.
They should also kill 636 and go straight to 660
Best CPU ever. Sent from one of those. Enjoy!
My Redmi Note 3 Prime Global is still my daily driver and is in MUCH better condition than your old RN4. I don’t plan to upgrade it until mid 2019.
Sometimes, accident do happens, whether you like it or not, although we gave the phone a fully protection, it just happens😢😢
I’m still using one, but it’s not shown in the pic
The Redmi 5 Plus/Redmi Note 5
The A2 Lite is a great phone. Been using it for a few weeks. I love it!
My first phone was a Lg KG195 with 1.5in color screen and microSD support (which was a huge plus point and a new thing for me)+ .jar Java games!! 💖
Used it with extreme care for about 11months until the disastrous day when it unknowingly went into the washing machine along with my jeans . Was heartbroken af.
Didn’t get a similar or better replacement (punishment obviously) & had to stick with a Nokia 2626 with only fm radio as the entertainment option. No mp3s too as inbuilt storage was only 2MB.
Made me appreciate the actual decent phone(Xperia 10 mini) I finally got next after 3years atleast 10 times more and I used it with utmost care for 3years until most of the apps on that android ver. weren’t supported and 256MB RAM wasn’t cutting it anymore.
But not long after I’d received it my younger sibling demanded a Xperia as the first cellphone and got one too and had screen scratches etc within 5 months. Ultimately broke the screen after dropping the phone on the bed a few many times when once it bounced off and dropped to the floor. Fker got a replacement similar specs phone in 2 weeks and had scratches on the screen once again within 3months.
*”Some people are just spoiled I guess, they don’t appreciate things.*
Endless possibilities
Same here. Even if I get a small crack on my tempered glass protector, I get a new one. All my old phones are physically in great condition.
2 girls One phone
my 1s is still working on mokee open source but its really slow as well
Is your 1s still working ok? The lag on mine is bad probably due to storage emmc slowing down.
I gave it to my little cousin
It would have been much worse if it was put through Tumblr
Did you put that phone through the tumbler?
oh my god, what did you do to that phone?
That poor Redmi Note 4 D: hope your new phone has a tough case on it!
