In Xiaomi camera, go to Pro. Set focus to infinite, iso to 3200 (highest available) and exposure time to longest (30s?). Set timer to 5s, press button and lie the phone down. Don’t touch it for 35s. After that you’ll get a photo, which you have to play with a little bit in Snapseed or Lightroom.
Holy crap that’s amazing dude
Check out these astrophotos taken with my Mi 9: https://photos.app.goo.gl/qiQotVtLr2f8Exj38
Now you will buy it 200% 🙂
Yeah I am thinking for mi 9 or 9t pro/k20 pro
The confort you gave me by posting this, i’ll have mi9Tpro so i know camera Quality it’s almost the same! Thank you!
Please someone explain to me how do you get these results.
Does the Mi 9 Lite also allow you to take photos this amazing?
No, i took one with mi 9 phone..

Can you provide me with the exact settings?

Yeah you shout but consider battery bank included
This one
Link?
hi did u use a tripod? or is it handheld?
I roll the control all the way to the end.
Thanks!
Only the last two are RAWs, and taken with HedgeCam 2, the other pictures are normal JPEGs taken with the stock camera.
You can’t switch between cameras unfortunately, you can only use the main camera.
Remember that the camera doesn’t make the photographer.
the GCam 7 port for Mi 9 has a dedicated Astrophotography mode, so it’s even easier to get good results
This is not the sub.
I just posted my photo from yesterday on /r astrophotography
A DSLR taking better pictures than a phone? Wow! What a surprise!
Note 7 isn’t much worse, I bet you can get at least 90% of these shots
Thanks!
I live in Hungary, pretty far from you 😅
Man I wish I had this phone I am stuck with mia1. Good phone tho. Might save up for a poco phone
I used a tripod
Can’t see it. Under what account did you post it
Stock camera, pro mode. Long exposure and high iso. You need tripod, or just lie it on something. I use timer, so the camera is not moving.
9T waiting for the night, tyvm
Agree. Though if the lens have smaller aperture and smaller sensor, the image may be darker.
Are you serious? This mobile photography?
Hooow, it looks so photo shopped, whats the settings you used?
I would like to live in a city away from the shitty pollution and visual contamination… so I would be able to take great photos as you.
Please enlighten us on how to do it
Most of the pictures are made with the stock camera’s pro mode with 3200 ISO, 32s shutter, 4200k white balance, and I edited it with Lightroom. I included the unedited versions in the album too. The last two pictures were made with a third party camera app named HedgeCam 2, and edited in Photoshop.
I live 40km from civilization, in the middle of forest in northern Sweden, with my 54 huskies. Great place for astrophotography and northern lights.
This is not better. This is on par at best, but okay
How do you set focus to infinite? Is it that second option from the top panel or focus where you set it to 100?
Bruhh. Are there some special setting for thatvor u just shoot with no custome settings
Wow… just wow… you are so lucky to have the posibility to live there.
How did you get that images? How were your settings?
Where do you live to see stars this amazing? I live in the US in near Chicago and I can’t see anything like this. Truly amazing pics
Yes, sometimes you can catch a shooting star, it’s not manipulation 🙂
I use the Clarity and Dehaze function in Lightroom to highlight the Milky way as much
as possible. That’s pretty much it, maybe I add a bit more vibrance, or adjust the exposure, contrast a little bit.
For the last two pictures, they’re a bit more advanced, I took around 60 shots, stacked them together with median blending for more detail and noise reduction, and used a method called LRGB processing. I learned it from here: https://youtu.be/Rltg47Q64W0
Nice, thanks !
Thanks!
I was considering to get mi9. Now I am buying it 100%
Do you know, how you can select the other cameras in the Lightroom camera? I suppose you shot with that and in raw right?
Nice shots, especially considering thery’re done with a phone
Thank you, i am trying to do the stacking, you need to takes various types of pics. But i only have a Note 7, if i only had a K20 Pro.
Wait There is a shooting star in it? isn’t that just photo manipulation or is it real?
Also could you explain the editing process?
So post it!
I have got better photo of the Mikey way 😀 but nice shot
If you have manual mode, probably you can do something like this. Longest exposure, highest ISO.
Thanks.
You might as well wait for the Mi 10 if you have the time and money.

> port for Mi 9 has a dedicated Astrophotography mode, so it’s even easier to get good results
do you mind linking that version?
Go check this out! https://www.reddit.com/r/XiaomiMi9/comments/dkk1lw/30_s_3200_iso_no_light_pollution_and_mi9_camera/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
You will see these stars there too. There is probably a lot of Light pollution where you live.
Bro, how did you took such photos? Which camera app are you using?
Guys please check mine too https://www.reddit.com/r/XiaomiMi9/comments/dkk1lw/30_s_3200_iso_no_light_pollution_and_mi9_camera/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Dude… Just wow !
How did you do ?
Man, I’m so jealous. I have an A2 Lite and even after unlocking Camera2 API I can’t get the exposure to go higher than 1 second. The option is there, but the camera just cuts it off after a second.
Yup. Use gcam
9t pro will be good for you if you don’t mind the front camera
