I saw it only the next day after my birthday. Only my parents wished me this year. I’m living a life of solitude now and just my parents have contact with me. That’s why I had a really lonely birthday. I have set it up for next year though.

because a modern notification system only takes a dev (who may be staying after hours because they really want this) an hour.

I have already enabled it… I’m assuming that it isn’t already enabled by default, so I can’t even understand how I have enabled it myself and forgotten about it. 😁
I also have it in my 5s Plus, 8.5.3.0 based on China Stable..

I just enabled it and it asked for access to my contacts.
