Is everyone experiencing this? The phone doesn’t feel like it works in 120Hz anymore. Majority of the apps are lagging and slowing down, especially noticeable when scrolling. Many times there is also a lag/delay when typing too. Just overall experience feels so much worse compared to MIUI 12.5 and previous Android. Was this update rushed or not tested enough? Can i go back to 12.5? I updated OTA.
Thanks.
Do you know that a factory reset is recomended after a big update? This can be the perfect time if you didn’t do it in the past.
Up for this. It’s just like updating to a big major update of Windows.
Or you can restart it several times like I did. Not as jumpy as MIUI 12.5 but smoother after the several restarts.
But my phone is just 2-3 months old?
Doesn’t matter?
I just said that it’s recomended after a major Android update, the rest is up to you.
Then get an iPhone, they have the most optimized updates and since you don’t have time to factory reset after android version update then just transfer files once to iphone ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
you are moving to a new android version with different working and algorithms, dont expect it to work the best with the older caches
One of the reasons why miui is called memeui
Yes also experiencing.
On a better note, I did notice that my huge Android System battery drain has also disappeared.
Will be following this thread to see if people find some fixes to how the phone is feeling currently.
I’m on MIUI 13 that came with the box, I feel like it’s lagging and having some delay when opening some third party apps like Telegram, I’m having this issue from the first day. I hope Xiaomi will fix it with upcoming updates.
Just updated on my note 10 pro. Poco launcher isn’t working
Yeah. Can confirm it since I’m using 11T with Miui 13 as well. Device feels kinda laggy and not smooth. It feels like I’m using a 60Hz refresh rate compare to before. Plus, battery drain does occur a bit. Not to mentioned the individual apps dark mode is gone. *Sigh*

I’ve been experiencing similar problems with my Pad 5, since updated to MIUI 13
Can’t tell anything bad about the update. It fixed all my stuff which wasn’t working at 12.5 like VoLTE, WiFi Call, slow Wifi
Same. The smartphone is less fluid than with the previous version. The problem with dark mode is real, it doesn’t work well, it’s random and depends on each app. There are even problems in the applications from Google.
Wait, is miui 13 is on 11T already?
Yep. I got the OTA update 2 days ago.
I can forgive the other problem but the dark mode is just painful. My eyes are hurting since I can’t force certain apps to go dark mode.
My Redmi note 10 pro is android 12 MIUI 13 now and it lessens battery drains and does no longer go to 86.4°C
I have 11t, how come i don’t have have the latest update? Does this vary from country to country?
my 11t pro have same problems! all of the above! maybe in time will be better? i hope there will be some optimizing and then will be better…
Under no circumstances could I find it acceptable that upgrading to a new stable, major version of some software advised a factory reset.
I would understand if it were pre-release software, but even Android betas allow you to retain your data as long as you’re not downgrading.
If the phone performs better after a factory reset, that is a major issue that needs fixing, rather than telling users to do a factory reset as a workaround.
The data-migration during device setup is kinda broken as well, as it can carry over AOSP Night light settings to an Android skin that has its own implementation. That would leave you with both night lights active.
yes it is not acceptable, i never said it is practical for hundreds of gigabytes of data needing to be wiped after an android update, but this is just how it works in android and i can do nothing about it for you and myself 😔
I agree. Hope they are getting around to fixing these issues soon.
The same thing is happening to me. I already reported this situation on the xiaomi forum. I expect fixes to be released in the next few days. I was 98% happy with the 11t until I updated. Now I’m about 70% satisfied. Other than that nothing has been released to improve the camera software… When zooming in on a photo, even using the 108mp in pro mode, the details appear cartoony.
New fix. Download and install the update again after you’ve updated your apps. Better than a factory reset.
Same problems here as well
Did this work for you?
Same i also face this problem got so many lose in my online game
Shame on xiaomi
Problem solved. The issue is the memory extension that comes pre-activated in the system, using flash memory as ram memory. Go to settings, additional settings, memory extension and disable the function. Frame drops will stop. As for the battery drain, I still don’t know.
Yup. Before the update I’m playing asphalt 9 with no problem. Now on miui 13 although not unplayable there’s a noticeable frame drops smh
Solved my problems too! Thanks
I am feeling worse in my redmi K40 after miui13.Scrolling down the control center feels laggy. Also laggy gaming and fps drops
Thanks man,my laggy Control Centre is fixed
I confirm that at least the fluency problem is solved by disabling the memory extension. I hope Xiaomi solves it, in MIUI 12 everything worked very well in the 11T. Now there is the problem of dark mode and its malfunction. Thanks for the momentary solution.
Thank you so much, It worked for me 👍
>version of some software advised a fac
worked like a charm. thanks \^\_\^
God bless you mate
xiaomi 11t user here. my issue is on miui 12, the swipe response is instant. after the miui 13 update, the swiping or touch response delays a little, this phone supports 480hz touch sampling rate. i compared it to my dad’s redmi note 10 pro side by side swiping test. the redmi is much more responsive. that phone supports 240hz sampling rate. help pls?
The camera has slowed down. And when i want to record a video, the speed lowers and the video becomes somethin like slow motion
Bro you are legit a god. I don’t know who thought making that setting a default was a good idea.
Same problem on my Xiaomi 11T. Did you solved it?
How can I send you a kiss bro?
quite the opposite for me. After the MIUI 13 update phone reaches about 55°C when it’s idle, I mean what!? I’m not doing anything on the phone it’s just sitting on my desk or my pocket and then it’s randomly starting to heat up.
Same with Redmi Note 10 pro but with randomly heating up when idle
oh and the hepatics stops working randomly too
oh oh and delayed screen locking/unlocking sound
This fixed the issue I’ve had with some apps loading really slowly after the update on my Pocophone X3, thanks!
You absolute legend. This was driving me completely nuts.
THANK YOU.
Logging in to tip my hat off. Thanks!
Using Redmi K40 Gaming Edition
>oh oh and delayed screen locking/unlocking sound
And what about device being unlocked even though you have fingerprint and someone else is using the phone
Thanks bro! Mi severus lag problem is solved on my mi 11 Lite 5g
Thank you very much… you are a god
bro it didn’t work, do you have any other solution? I bought the phone yesterday!
My phone goes to 50 to 60 Celcius whenever I do things like this
Thank you so much!
Thanks alot bro now it feels like 120 again🔥🔥🤟
Still not fixed, even after the MIUI 13.0.3 update recently.
It works perfectly!! My f3 was kind of laggy !! Thanks!!!!
U save my money bro.. I just think to upgrade the phone but the solution u gave was really worked! 👍
MIUI 13 is so much laggy, it lags during scrolling in amazon or instagram, Previously MIUI 12.5 was far better than this Android 12 update.
Legit bro legit…..thanks a lot
Thank you so much, mate. Works like a charm.
Hi this is OP’s other account, I’m interested how can I help?
Problem still exists and cant be fixed by disable the memory extension. Hope can fix the frame drop and laggy issue in the coming official update
First thing I checked. It didn’t work. Still lags specially on games like COD
Didnt Help me 🙁 but thank you for advice. Bluetooth is super bad too since MIUI. Update feels like a huge backstep
You sussy baka
I updated to MIUI 13 and regret it.. everything is worse 90hz feels worse than 60. Constant stutter and it’s getting worse everyday. Chrome stopped working at 90hz as well
Thank you so much omg!!
Thank kind stranger
if you still experience issues with fps drop, throttling, etc in games then force stop the process called com.xiaomi.joyose
it is responsible for thermal throttling and managing the game turbo mode ( for me game turbo mode was not working)
Bro just saved my life
It has gotten slower every single day since I posted this comment
Was it all okay after the flash? I’m a poco f3 gt user also would you tell me how to do it.

This fixed it for me as well, what I don’t get is why the swap memory (memory extension) is being used when there’s plenty or ram available
God bless you ❤️
I am experiencing delay issues when taking a screenshot (using the finger gesture).
Also, even if I change my default apps and some app permissions, when I restart my phone, all things revert to default. I am using Xiaomi 12 Pro (CN) on Miui 13.0.41..
Bro, Disabling memory extension doesn’t work for me i still lag alot although i do everything to remove the lag😭😭😭
Thanks bro, I don’t have Mi11T but I was facing RAM management issues, after disabling memory extension RAM management improved a lot. 😋😋🤞🤞
Kinda worked on my redmi note 9 with 3gb of ram. Thanks bro/sis
it still happens… yeah your fix worked
thank you, it worked!
Man, thank you so much.
Thank you very much for that comment, few days ago I updated my 11T to MIUI 14 and got that laggish feeling and disabling memory extension solved it.
Same
Grazie mille thank you so much!!
Done and still lag. Thinking of selling this phone
This helped me just now. Thank you very much!
Thank you mate, I fixed my dad phone after finding your comment 🙂
Bro is your issue solved, I playing codm having this severe lagging issue☠️ fcking 10+ frame rate and occasional screen freeze I wanna die

May god bless you
Worked
Just uninstall Gboard and install Microsoft SwiftKey ,end of the story
2 years too late, but THANK YOU. This has been bothering me lately and just couldn’t find a solution until this.
Thank you, truly
They never did. I just ran into these same issues with the 11T Pro 2y later and this still fixed my problem too…
Hey, how’s the performance on your 11T after these 2 years? (if you’re still have it, of course.)
Hey, i don’t have it for a long time now. I am done with xiaomi.
Oh OK… Good to know 🙂
I guess you had a pretty good reason…
I mean, I just got a 14T! Not that I was eager to use Xiaomi, it’s just that, with the budget I had, Xiaomi offered the best specs. My other alternatives were either Samsung, or other Xiaomi phones, especially for where I live.
I’m quite satisfied with it, for the month I’ve been using it, at least. But since I’ve stumbled upon the concept of Planned Obsolescence, I found your post and wanted to ask whether Xiaomi actively uses it or not (through updates).
