Since this morning my watch has its own life. WTF is going on?

Can’t tap on anything, power button is randomly switching between the different screens. The sleep sensor also doesn’t respond when I cover it. Have tried to reset it by holding the power button, several times already. Any advice on what else I can try? thanks
Did it recently update?
President Xi took over
No, it didn’t. At least as far as I remember for the last
week.
I would’ve given you an award but I’m broke 🙁
looks like a faulty digitizer (touch screen)
Correct, these random actions are called ghost or phantom touches. They usually come from a touch screen being stressed or damaged. On cheaper mobile phones and tablets they can come from slight touchscreen deformations or even from an attached charger. You can launch some paint canvas app to see the pattern. Sorry for your trouble, but only a repair service can help here.
Hi, not on the subject but how is the watch despite this?
(by exemple for sport: running/cycling precison of the gps or even in every day life?)
I Hope your problems will be resolved!
Fine , I’ll do it myself
Happens when something triggers your display from underneath. Maybe dust entry
I had the same problem last June which Xiaomi did replaced after 3 weeks.
Did you go out in the rain?
mine isn’t even connecting to my phone 😭
When real AI kicks in……….
Must’ve been the Winnie the Pooh jokes
Artificial intelligence
Seems like water damage or a faulty digitiser, get it checked out with an authorised Xiaomi service centre
Nice watch, but it didn’t come with a full screen
Did water fall on it recently?
It is possessed
I use it for its alarm, sleep data and to count rest time between sets.
What I like about this watch is the vibration for a silent wake up, the vibration at the end of the timer countdown and the ability to check how was my sleep when I don’t feel good or am facing an important decision to make.
What I hate about this watch is the timer. I have to choose from a set of pre defined counters and can’t save my custom timer as a preset. Once the custom timer ends, it goes back to the screen with the pre defined ones, which makes it extremely uncomfortable for me to use it over and over in a session. What I do instead is just using the stopwatch. But there’s no vibration and I have to keep an eye on it.
They have majority of the market now.
They have stopped caring
Its a limited edition AI driven watch.
“But I don’t took importance”
Wtf is going on? Xiaomi devices in general is what’s happening.
I swear Xiaomi is a good company but their devices are not good. The amount of problems you see on this subreddit with phones losing stable functionality with updates, or their devices just screwing up at random… eclipses all other brand subreddits. It’s not even a joke at this point, it’s just sad.
I got the MiBand 6 after having such a good experience with the MiBand 4. The heart rate monitor on the 6 is completely useless. It’s constantly reporting a wrong value. The battery life is worse. Updating the band gave me an error twice. And the only good that happened was the last update gave me another 2 days of battery life.
My experience with my old mi 9 was also shit because the touchscreen screwed up after just 2 weeks of mild use. Friends have been having countless issues with their devices after updates. It’s such a bad screw up.
And Samsung on the other hand, has completely changed in the last 2 years. Updates actually fix shit and offer better life. My friend was on Android 8 thinking his S9+ was gonna see a significant hit. Nope. Synthetic benchmarks showed equal or 0.5-1% better scores. And battery life got extended by one hour of SoT and half a day of standby time. While the UI is more fluent.
Oh i see, because there is no Always On Display iirc.
Thanks for your response, appreciate it!
I think you could possibly have some water inside the watch (creating a faulty touch-screen). Have you considered sending an email to Xiaomi with this attached? They might help or replace it (but don’t be do hopeful on the last one)
have you tried hitting it with a hammer?
This is a basic troubleshooting questions to ask on any device…
I dumped my Mi 9 SE with ghost touch, being a useless phone….I have ordered from Ali one lcd with fingerprint but the seller sent me a Amoled with no fingerprint….it’s a backup phone for now….will not buy a Xiaomi phone for now….
I’m no technician, but I have owned a lot of gadgets with screens over the years. Looks like a ghost touch issue. Reasons could be faulty digitizer or pressure being exerted on it. Either you could have bumped it and damage it OR it could be a battery swelling behind and exerting the pressure. Regardless, you should have it serviced. A faulty or broken digitizer probably needs to be replaced, but a swollen battery being changed COULD resolve the issue IF it was only pressure causing it and it has yet to damage the screen.
There was also one time where a loose connection (of the digitizer, but it was somehow working partially) was an issue in one of my devices. Since this is a watch, you could have dislodged it a bit during exercise? Or you could have put your weight on it during sleep?
In any case, good luck having it fixed.
PEGASUS
I feel xiaomi’s QA is slipping as of late
