I reached out to the Honor community to seek their advice on whether I should switch from the 16 Pro Max to the Honor Magic 7 Pro. However, they advised me that it’s not worth the switch and suggested that I consider the Xiaomi 15 Ultra instead. Now, I’m here, seeking your opinions. Should I make the switch or should I keep my 16 Pro Max?
Don’t go honor, You will not like the os as it has that notification bug even if it’s the global version.
I have the 15 ultra and I can safely say it’s better than honor in terms of os.
How is the battery?
I would watch reviews on the phone and Hyper OS. It would also depend how invested you are with iPhones, like if there’re certain features or functionalities that you must have in a phone.
15 ultra if you are in it for the cameras.
Battery is a very important factor for me
tbh only thing i like in iphone is the dynamic island and the smoothness
If you tried android before you will like the phone.
Camera uses too much battery, but that will be probably fixed. Overall it’s a nice rig.
I got the phone for only 2 days.
Usually anyone that tell you how battery like is before using it at least 1 month will not give you an accurate reading.
As in the first days you will probably use your phone very intensely , you will get the false impression that it might be bad.
In reality most new phones have built in ai for features like this and need time to learn your habits and optimize, that can take at least 2 weeks of constant use.
My day one: was 95% to 15% with 168 apps configured and testing out the camera .
Day 2: 100% to 67% by midday with a lot of photos and videos capture and light browsing .
Camera uses a lot of Battery in the Iphone too.and also this is my first iphone ever i miss all of the helpful features that my S9+ had.Cameras are obviously night and day compared to that phone but when i compare the zoom shots to a friends s25 ultra I was in shambles.I could get the s25 u but i want to know if the xiaomi is better or not cause i lost a lot of trust in samsung after the late updates.
Ditch the iphone than. You will like xiaomi. I had x200 pro. I like xiaomi but you need to adjust to more realistic pictures. Vivo makes them too nice.
do u have the luxury of having 2 phone?? if not u r gambling cuz i think the battery is ok it will last u the whole day but if u the guy that uploading stuff on the socmed i think u wouldn’t like android optimization. But on the native camera and gallery ur pic and vid will look so gorgeous imo. But sometimes people dont like leica colour grading. Plus i think u should go to store 1st and then try it for urself that is my advice 4 u
that’s extremely good tbh
Yea i agree but the only thing that’s stopping me is the OS every review i watched said something that repelled me from buying it i will do more research. Thanks
How is the hyper OS?
I use it for 2 week so far zero issues with the HyperOs. I actually like it more than vivos. I have global version so no more Chinese. I will look for x200 ultra though in the future. Just to check cameras 🙂
i heard its full of ads is it true then atleast can you delete them
I honestly like it from day 2 more than the os from Honor.
I get all my notifications on time, the thing is snappy as hell , that Snapdragon elite chip is miles better than anything on the market.
As I told you I has over 150 apps installed, then thing that impressed me was that with WiFi 6 I got like 20 apps per minute I stalled , it was blazing fast.
I managed to customize it very fast to my likeing, I usually have nova launcher on backup anyway, but here there was no need for it.
And it looks a lot like iOS but with Android flavor. So if you coming from that it would be a good combination.
But as you already have 16 pro max, I would say it’s just a fluke for you as photos and overall experience won’t change that much.
What you really need to consider is that apps like WhatsApp do not share history from one platform to another. So be prepared to loose al history.
I switched from 12 pro max to honor magic V3 because I wanted to see something truly unique like a foldable and now to 15 ultra for the cameras.
Absolute nonsense. I didn’t see a single add. It may be some adds in system apps? Not sure, even if something it can be sisabled. But there a no adds man as far i can see.
I’d say don’t. Unless you absolutely need the cameras. I haven’t had issues with the battery and the phone is snappy and fast. But Hyper OS really needs work. In iOS I use many widgets, like weather, calendar, work calendar, work email, fitness, etc. In Xiaomi there are 2 types of widgets, ones that are sponsored by Xiaomi and the Android ones. Some of Xiaomi’s look and feel shady like a currency converter which is only a direct access to a page that does it but there is no link to any known page where it gets the info from. Looks designed to steal data… the gallery widget only lets you add 12 photos. Even if you’re familiar with android widgets most of the apps have only a few ones. If you can survive that then go for it. I come from the iPhone 16 pro and after probably a month in I am starting to let go of the way I used to have my info show to me and adapt. BUT as a photo enthusiast the 15U is a beast. The most important aspect for me are the presets, other than the great quality lenses, that is. In pro mode you can configure and import presets to use ‘in camera’ to give your photos a certain look. You’re skipping Lightroom in a way which is very convenient. I’ve seen people even sell these presets. So, again, only do it if you need the cameras! Cheers!
What about charging? 30W to 90W would be a game changer for me
yea yea but how about battery life though
Ads are ONLY in low budget xiaomi phones.
Sorry no idea. I don’t have it. Im happy with my xiaomi 11t pro which works great even after 3.5 years. But planning to upgrade to 14t pro or 15t pro.
Totally false, people just want to shit on Xiaomi for nothing if there’s ads it’s only in certain pre installed apps like music player (Wich you can easily disable in 3 seconds in the settings)
Getting no ads
I did it and I’m super happy with it
how was the transition?
Hey man quick update on my case.
Don’t buy the Xiaomi 15 ultra.
Mine bricks android auto on my Mazda CX 60.
Totally bricks the whole infotaiment system, tried all the solutions from other people and nothing works.
I will be returning mine also.
No
No keep the iPhone. Mi 15 Ultra doesn’t have a great camera.. I have one.
Only for cameras. If you are using iphone 16pro max means you heavily invested in apple ecosystem so don’t change.
Only phones really worth upgrading to from iPhone 16 pro max are Oppo X8 ultra or Vivo X200 ultra but they are both china only devices.
Been super happy with it. Sure I knew it wasn’t going to be an iPhone… The icloud to Google photos, password management, paid IOS apps you might have to pay for again or lose certain features unavailable in android… Airtags for example.. that’s the hard part if you ask me. Moving ecosystems is the challenge.. Not necessarily the phone. The phone is fantastic and the ability to try more androids in the future when I upgrade (doesn’t have to be xiaomi) – is the exciting part. I can try any other phone, form factor, the world seems more open, but less apple like.
I’ve an iPad and Mac that keeps my icloud stuff during this long transition so no complaints. I’ll slowly move out of icloud 2tb one day maybe in a year.. And only keep Google 2tb. I’m having to use both for now.
Have the X15U and it’s marginally better than my ip8p, with around 6-7hours sot. camera tanks it tho
i suggest vivo x200 pro
its not available in my country sadly🥲
Has anyone had this issue before? Is this a common issue in this phone? This is not normal behavior, maybe get it replaced instead of just returning it.
HyperOS 1 sucked for me in many aspects that you probably already read about (+ I have the Xiaomi 12 which is known for overheating, I didn’t have many issues with this, but had performance and lagging issues). After the update to HyperOS 2 my phone got way better, smooth as new again, I’m considering not to update it in the next update because it’s impeccable now.
That’s only on redmi and poco because they are low end phones, Xiaomi 13/14/15/… is the flagship model, it doesn’t put ads in it.
Downgrade?
wow really🥲
Over all iPhone is ahead sadly. 15u cams aren’t bad but software is behind Vivo.
Vivo x200 ultra is better if you wanna switch.
I’m on your words, bro! I’m making the move. 😮💨
