Go to apps, manage apps, security, clear data, clear all data or uninstall updates. Either should work.

I googled “security keeps stopping” and found your post. There is one another simularity. I was also playing on Pokerstars.. probably not a coincidence.

Clear data not worked for me, security app keep stoping, How can i delete update from this app ?

I have a similar problem but it’s not with Security keeps stopping
It’s with “Notifications stopped working”

Go to settings -> apps -> manage apps -> security -> you will find the option to uninstall the update all the way down

Xiaomi doesnt give fast updates..they just keep on adding features rather than solving existing bugs

Absolutely nothing.. Was on charge and when I plugged out this appeared. Judging by people’s responses in this thread, appears to be a bug triggered by certain date and time condition, but hey I’m no developer

Same for me on my Redmi Note 8 Pro, it just came up.

I got a date afternoon but before morning this error showed up like the end of my life. I’d to take some photos for her, but i had no idea why this error occurred. I tried with uninstalling updates of security app, restarting, charging and it didn’t work. Finally i found this post and cleared app data. Then my phone got back to normal and i was like my fucking best day of my life. I really thank y’all guys for saving my life.
P.S – I got laid that day.

No it will not delete any of your personal items, you only reset the data and casch to default in the security app. so if you done any settings in the app before, you need to set the same settings back to what you prefer.

I had this happen first thing this morning. After many dismissed dialogs, clearing data fixed it for me too.

Finally it works for me too i didn’t clear data or cache i just uninstall update 😢😭 i wish it never pop up again 😤

I reinstalled the same update and no problems yet.

Excellent advice. Its sorted my Mi9T after an evening of frustration with warning messages every few seconds. I was contemplating more severe action such as factory reset so thankfully that’s not required now.

I have not uninstalled updates. I have opened the app and cleared the phone (speed up and so on). Pop up message stopped. Looks like security app has trouble to cope with some data from other apps.

Update: I had to uninstall updates. Message appeared again few hours later.

yeah, same error here in pakistan on note 8 pro. seems like some issues in security update.

Hold the Security icon, click App Info, Uninstall Updates.

Uninstall security app update

Then go to settings then system app updater ignore security update

I just solved problem with updating Security and Cleaner apps.
I don’t receive any update in my setting, i just found website which give these updates so just download them and fix problem.
