Would you go for the note 7 pro or pocophone f1? I currently have the iphone 6 and its still working good but im boredd of ios

I use a mi 5s here in the UK because it has NFC. Bought it for £80 and couldn’t be happier. Only downfall is the battery life.
Battery would be smaller (and since the same SOC) it would mean battery life would have to suffer as well. Look into other Xiaomis phones. They have infinite variation with slightly different specs

This is why i have to pass on xiaomi for now, despite genuine expensive at first. I can’t sacrifice both the nfc and headphone jack.
It was actually the Redmi 4 Prime which had *almost* the same specs as the Redmi Note 4 (slightly gimped cameras). It also sadly received less support and was less popular/promoted compared to the Redmi 4X.
As much as I too wish for a smaller but equivalent variant, there’s almost no chance it’ll happen 🙁

Without looking inside aspect of the phone, finally, a Redmi that have a good design, IMO.
On the bright side, it comes with camera2 api turned on by default, so you can install Google Camera that’s gonna take better photos than the miui camera.

though i can tell you that the gap between 625 to 636 is bigger than 636 to 660. and i expect the gap between 660 to 675 will be as big as 625 to 636
I think it’s like the generation change of mid range cpu. 636 now is like 625 was a year ago where there are plently of phones that used 625 (Redmi 5 Plus, A1 & 5X, A2 Lite, Redmi Note 4 (I think?)).
Also, I think 660 is an minor upgrade like how 636 is to 625. Both (636&625) used the same GPU but different CPU (around 30-40%, I think?). I’m not sure about the CPU but I think better GPU in 660 will do the same as how 636 is from 625.
Plus. Giving 660 in that price range (like others) will eventually drag down the price of the midranges from respectable brands that balls enough to sell 660 for like $500 or $600 *cough* A9 *cough*. So in the end, the one that benefit the most will be us, consumer.
Actually their high end phone is not bad, compare to other phones at same price range. My friend uses mi8 and its picture is acceptable to me

Especially for nigh shots. Shouldn’t it be a camera that is really good for night shots? With its “pixel” merging feature?
Xiaomi has been pretty bad at camera for some years now… I really hope for an upgrade soon, otherwise, I will check what Honor or Huawei is doing… Seem to be really good camera !

yeah, it only appeal for budget oriented people. fair enough.
but, SD636 device is very common in that price range, and SD636 and SD660 are essentially using the same chipset, one is just lower binning of another, sd660 is only 15% faster than 636. anything that can run well in 660 will be as good on 636.
also redmi note 7 pro is on the way.

No more official updates, the last MIUI 10 version came out a few days ago.

Agree with this though I think it maybe also because they prematurely released Redmi Note 6 Pro, which actually is just a minor change of RN5 Pro, and kinda lose their crown to competitors like Realme and Y9 (not sure Huawei or Honor).
With the hype from the camera sample, the design (kinda hate it though, personal opinion), the teardrop notch and spec when compared to others at the same price range, I think these maybe why.
I hope they make a 5″ version with the same specs, like the redmi 4x and redmi note 4x
