Almost any phone above $200 can run any 3D game on the play store smoothly though
Source: some random Reddit comment
(They probably meant stable 30)
Yeah, there is a setting for frame rates called “extreme” where you get 60 fps, but that’s only available for the lowest graphics quality setting, and my Huawei Mate 10 can’t maintain the high fps without lagging every 5 minutes.
Well I’ve had worse phones than this RN7 and never struggled in gaming, I’ve been on $200 phones all my life and never seen a game they can’t handle. Never played PUBG though.
Really good price in all honesty. Too bad the Pro Version costs the same as the Mi9T from a decent non scammy seller
Imminent Note 8 launch
tell him to install an app called GFX Tool.
Just bought mine (3GB/32GB) in Argentina for $270. Third world sucks.
Not really the first time though but still a good price.
You can set price alerts for coupons using this site: https://couponsfromchina.com/2019/03/20/xiaomi-redmi-note-7-4-128gb-global-black-coupon-price-gearbest/
I think you will have to wait until that happens… Even though, depends on what you mean by ‘cheap’
That’s just what I heard, I haven’t tested it because I consider mobile games mostly cancerous
It runs MK10 very well though even after an hour of gameplay the fps doesn’t drop a bit, and it’s a fairly demanding game
Emulators are an entirely different matter. They could lag on a $1000 flagship if they’re not configured properly.
60fps yeah but constant? No way!
Personally I bought from Gearbest and had no problems. I also used Geekbuying and Aliexpress.
It was my father who bought the phone, and sadly I don’t know where did he get it. Before buying it, he kept track of the prices on many pages to get the best deal.
Just got mine today. I’m from Belgium and I ordered it from Amazon (German site) for 175 €. I came from a moto 4G Plus. I’m liking it so far but I miss a couple of tiny things that Motorola has like shake to put on the flashlight and locking the phone with the fingerprintscan.
If someone has tips for these last two points than feel free to help me out.
If you want to upgrade, this is your best bet on this price range. If your budget is higher, your other options are the pocophone, k20/k20pro and the pixel 3A (mostly because of the camera)
While my note 4 is still intact, I feel like it’s starting to become a little sluggish. I’ll probably upgrade to the note 8 when it comes out (no rumors yet, but it’ll happen someday)
i’ll give it a try with the insurance. I saw the same phone for 260 euro in a german Media Markt and Gearbest has it for only 170 so I guess I know what to choose 😉 Thanks for the reply!
Ah, this is for the 128GB version. The 64GB has been ~$190 on Amazon in the US for at least two months. Got one in early June and it’s very impressive. My expectations were low for the price, but it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it exceptionally well.
oh, I thought it was 4100, and the 7 has 3900.
Yep saw and bought already 😉
Also Note 4 here. I have no problems and feel like i’m putting at least another year in it before a upgrade.
Kimovil shows the best price available and which seller has it fyi
Any noticable difference between the note 6 pro and this? My note 6 is great but my girlfriend needs a new phone and I’m not against giving her my old one haha
Haha here in India you can get the K20 for that price! It’s miles better – way faster SD 730 (Uses the same cores as SD 855), no notch, in display fingerprint, better design, 3 cameras back (Wide angle too!) and a popup selfie cam.
wow, just for the 64gb extra I’d be tempted.
No Amoled is the reason, why i won’t go with this device. After max 1,5 year this phone won’t last a normal day on normal usage unfortunately
I got mine for 150€ like a week ago. Extraordinary deal, and I’m liking this phone so far.
What about the pro version?
great deal i already bought mine last month tho … rip
I can only speak of Germany. There they circumvent it somehow. They also offer some insurance for a small additional fee if you do end up paying.
Can anyone compare the performance of the note 7 to an iPhone 6S plus? Buying this for an older family member who just watch youtube, take pictures and texting.
Would performance be similar or better?
Cries after paying it about 310 usd…
It was the cheapest price i could pay for it in my country
where???
Much faster SoC and better camera.
The usual suspects. Gearbest often has the 150€ version on sale with codes. Banggood as well. Check [Kimovil](https://www.kimovil.com/en/special/dailydeals) and [mydealz.de](https://www.mydealz.de/search?q=Redmi%2BNote%2B7%2B4gb) regularly to see if they are on sale or available cheap with a code.
Yes, it’s crazy it’s only around 2.5 y/o at this point yet the design is already outdated. The smartphone space is really competitive and fast.
Your country sucks
Is the note 7 much of an upgrade from the note 4? I have the note 4 but the headphone jack has been acting up on it for a while now
I still dont know if gearbest is the best site where i can but this phone
really? i was getting low fps on windwaker
Currently 169.99 EUR at Amazon.
sure. The RN4 was okayish to begin with, the RN7 cam with gcam delivers.
Got the Note 7 for my gf who was also using the Note 4 up until now.ainly because she wants a better camera and I feel if you can sell the note 4 and upgrade for around 50-70€ it’s well worth it.
Heads up for the jack acting up: it’s quite often just lint build up in it. Blow into it hard or carefully clean it and in 95% of all cases it works again without problems.
does it have band 20?
The 6.25 inch display is nice. I had the note 4, great phone but the design is outdated.
My brother bought one for $210 a month ago with 1 year warranty.
That’s impressive
why did they put a smaller battery in this than the note 4 had? Seems like the battery life must not be as good since it also has a much bigger screen.
I got the Pro version offa AliExpress like two weeks ago for $210. Great phone and great price.
“This phone isn’t suitable for intense gaming”
> 60 constant fps on PUBG mobile maxed out for hours
Say sike right now
I made a similar switch. From an iPhone 6 to a redmi note 6pro. It was a huge Improvement in every way.
One thing to note though is that iPhones are much better for non tech literate people. Just keep in mind you will probably do a lot of support for that person while learning the new system.
I’ve been playing GameCube games without major problems. The FPS could be better, but it is good enough to have a good time.
i dont think thats really true, even phones with sd845 (that has like 2 times better gpu) cant really do 60fps maxed…
but its true that RN7 is by no means bad gaming phone, few tweaks and there and you can play to your hearts content 🙂
Is The rn 7 camera alot Better than rn4?
The iPhone will perform better. But I think iOS 13 will be it’s last update.
I have an iPhone 6S as well and it performs about same as my OP5T. iOS is just better than Android at running at a constant 60fps. I don’t game though, so take that into account. The RN7 might be better at games.
I haven’t tried Windwaker (yet), but Need for Speed Underground, The Simpsons Hit&Run and Smashing Drive are playable (the FPS could be better though). I am also using the mmj version, it seems to work better than the official one.
How is Gearbest and import taxes? I’m not really familiar with it. Is it good to ship to for example Belgium or any other european country?
the new sd855 can run on it stable 30fps on ps2 and gc/wii
does this come with the Chinese BS the mix 2 does? I couldn’t group chat or send pictures, text notifications wouldn’t show up
That is quite impressive. I wasn’t aware that it had such good performance in PUBG.
I just gave $330 to 64gb version soooo :/
128gb version was like $45 expensive and I’ve never went above 20-30 gb on my 64gb phone.
Just bought one yesterday. It’s replacing a Samsung Galaxy A5 for my wife, which if you’re not familiar with it, is bargain basement garbage. Can’t wait for the Redmi to get here.
