I’m using evo x which is basically Pixel Experience on steroids
The full screen gestures in itself don’t have anything to do with the launcher. I’m rocking nova launcher since MIUI 9 up to MIUI 12 now and the gestures worked all the time. But I just don’t have the option for the pill. I am in xiaomi.eu though.
Edit: now I know what you mean. The full screen gestures change depending on the launcher you use. Thanks, sorry I was being so dumb.
The gestures in MIUI, ever since Android 10, have been tied to the stock Xiaomi launcher, so they won’t work in 3rd party launchers (sadly). The setting to activate the pill is in the same part of settings where full screen gestures is. It’s an option you can turn on.
I’m using another launcher. Is it only usable on the launcher or also in other apps? And do you have the stock launcher to use the pill?
Where is the setting to activate it?
Just downloaded my banking app to test it out. It logged in normally and even asked me if I want to receive notifications. Almost sure I have Google Play services since every single app and game I use works. Even “nearby share”, which requires google play services.
There’s one thing that’s important to notice. I read that each Mi Account can only unlock ONE account per month. So it might take a while to unlock all of your devices. (unlock = unlock bootloader). My most important tip is to follow the steps carefully so you don’t do anything wrong. There are steps in the Pixel Experience website and also some in the TWRP website. Follow those and watch some videos and you should be good.
Glad to hear that! Stock ROMs are waaay less bloated, and I even managed to get androd 10 running on a Samsung note 3 for fun to see what it’s limits were.
[Here’s a link](https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/jayvky/redmi_note_7_experiencing_many_problems_heating/g8w0ofq?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3) to a comment of mine on this thread about this! Now always be sure to look up everything you are doing and maybe watch some YT videos on the subject (like installing a custom recovery). The Pixel Experience website covers most of the process, but you may need some extra info on installing the custom recovery (TWRP). May take a while if it’s your first time like it was for me.
Every single animation is buttery smooth, including sliding sideways from app to app. It feels so snappy
That’s what I ended up doing, but I flashed Pixel Experience and it’s working fine untill now!
I used a ton of websites all over the internet I found. First of all, you will need [to install the universal adb driver](https://adb.clockworkmod.com/) on your PC (I used windows, so I downloaded from this link, idk of it’s the same for everyone. I recommend reading a lot about it before doing this. **Since I wanted to change to Pixel Experience, I used the [guide available in their website.](https://download.pixelexperience.org/) Just select your phone and they’ll help you!** You also need a custom recovery to boot into when starting up your phone, I used the [Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP)](https://twrp.me/Devices/). The rest is up to you! Wish you the best of luck! If you’re like me and you don’t have much experience with the Command Prompt, this might take a few hours to do as this process, as easy as the guides try to make it, still has a slight learning curve. Just be careful not to mess up or you might do something irreversible.
Don’t worry, a custom ROM fixed my problem! Currently using Pixel Experience based on Android 10.
I don’t speak Spanish well, but I kind of understand you. If you’re having problems with the gestures for closing and opening applications, I really recommend installing q custom ROM since formatting your device apparently didn’t work. I’m now on Pixel experience and this problem in the video is solved! 😀
Nope, latest version of MIUI launcher has a pill you can turn off or on (MIUI 11, Androids 10). You can find apks to update your launcher on apk mirror, that’s what I did. Having the pill allows you to swipe through apps sideways which is nice.
Oh wow! That’s some interesting information. I really had no idea about that! I was afraid something inside may have been damaged due to my phone overheating one day when I was downloading a 5GB game, but now things seem to be back to normal after moving to a custom ROM (Pixel experience).
Same thing with my device but the issue is that a sweat got through the volume buttons.
Check your volume rockers they might be dirty
Is this horror vid?…
How’s the experience? Isit smooth?
Wow that’s really bad. I’m sure lineage os will do it better, if your phone is officially supported. I have experience with it, and even lineage os 16 works well on a 2012+ device. Do some research and try to flash a rom on it.
Time to buy new 1
I think this is it. Mine also had this, replacing the screen fixed it. I’m not sure how complicated it is in Note 7 but I replaced Note 5 screen by myself no problem.
Report when you have been using that ROM for two years…
Hey dude, what video did you use, or tutorial, i want to do mine, but just scared cause people dot gem differently.
Im getting scared now for my rn9pro 🙁
Why do you have the Google pill on the bottom? Is this stock miui?
I don’t know about other countries but you have Gewährleistung for 2 years mandatory in Germany, but a real warrenty is voluntarily. So yeah, you can buy products without warrenty in Germany.
Looks like very big ping and packet loss 😉
You need to connect to a new display.
If it heats, it’s likely a short circuitted board. I accidentally charged mine over night. After that whenever I use touch, it acted a bit sluggish, thought it was my display, realised the heat is because of a short. Many will say overcharge isn’t really gonna hurt battery which is true but it does start to hurt motherboard when it’s 8 hrs more after full charge. I used Custom ROM after that for 3 years so the touch symptoms were less visible but it was always there. I recently gave it to service center to get my battery replaced ( 4 years old Redmi Note 3 ), They informed me about board issue and fixed it free of charge & now my touch works, phone is not heating up as it used to.
But if your touch works same even with or without being plugged in, then probably your display panel issue.
Oh crap. That’s bad to know :/ I flashed a new role on line and it works like a charm!
Oh no. That is exactly what I’m experiencing in my phone. I only bought it for a couple of months now.
Hahah
Ok,just don’t jinx it. *Wink*
Wow,thanks! I didn’t even think one existed! Is this compatible specifically with the Pop 4+(5056a) model? I sometimes see different ROMs for similar models.
I mean, it’s hard not to haha. Wasn’t my intention, but I also read it like that. 😛
Oh, sorry lol. I was kind of pessimistic after the problem occuring so many times. So far my experience with Pixel Experience has been fantastic though!
Hello, have you seen any Lineage OS ROMs for Alcatel Pop 4+? I want to flash it,current stock ROM is slow.
I read every word in a shouting voice lol
Don’t say ‘yet’. That’s like assuring us that you know it will definitely happen in the future.
That’s a possible cause.
That’s weird. Try reinstalling the latest software package,if not, back up everything and factory reset it. That usually fixes several OS level crashes.
No volume for u
You can turn on show taps in developer setting in ur phone
Yes! Seems like it’s working perfectly. No problems yet
Try a custom ROM. I just flashed the phone and it’s working like a charm. Haven’t experienced the problem yet
###Ok, so I decided to flash Pixel Experience on this phone and so far I haven’t experienced any problems whatsoever. Thank you to all that have sent suggestions. You are all amazing!
1.5 years
I just flashed Pixel Experience. I’m loving it and haven’t had the problem yet
I tried, didn’t work. Ended up switching to pixel experience ROM
Do phone is possessed. Do you have some holy water?
Just clean the display. It happened to me there is something interfering with touch.
Send it in under warranty if possible, my father has an rn7 and it doesn’t do that so it might be defective. If not possible then you can try to mitigate the overheating by using a custom firmware/kernel.
He is sentient
The AI is in control
Using the latest version of stock launcher. You can obtain it at apk mirror I think. If you already have it, just activate it in settings (full screen gestures)
No screen protector at all being used
If it starts speaking Latin, burn it
Is there a screen guard? Have you tried removing it and test it? I once had similar issue and removing screen guard fixed it.
Never submerged it, but I’ve used it in the rain before and I’ve had water splash on it.
Currently using stock launcher with round icons I found in the themes app. Widget is from [today weather](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.lockdown.weather)
This phone isn’t rated for any type of water resistance. A few drops won’t matter, but anything bigger and you will have issues. Anyway, it will probably stop getting crazy once its fully dried, but the corrosion will cause issues from time to time, and eventually the phone will fail. It can take a long time though.
Mine got damaged a year ago, and so far the biggest issues is the camera freezing and needing to restart the phone. I’m not longer using it daily though, as I need one with NFC.
Im very pleased. Very stable and stock.
how is the weeb projekt and android 11 in general?
thinking of going there from pixel exp 10.
Yes, I mean a new high quality sd card is still not a great choice. I’ve had one that got corrupted 5 times in a year and I lost some photos. Don’t trust sd cards for internal storage.
I have the same phone but mine is only 15 months old hopefully it won’t happen to me because I’m only planing to buy a phone in a year :/
I’ve tried turning off MIUI optimizations in the past and all it did was reset all preferences and make all icons differently shapes and sizes. I could try doing it again though, it’s a possible fix
the volume randomly change by itself happen to me as well, but only when im using wired earphone, while running/workout.
Fuck yea. I’ve been using pixel experience for about a year now, its so good, you should try it.
I see the problem straight away. Your icons are all round which tell me you have MIUI optimization turned on.
I had similar problems on my mi9 se.
Here’s what to do it most likely will solve problem
1. Open settings
2. Activate developer options (about phone > Tap 8 times on “MIUI-Version”)
3. Settings > Additional Settings
4. Developer options
5. Disable MIUI-Optimizations (at the very bottom).
6. Reboot
This will also disable some other features of MIUI. But for now, it really did fix the issue for others. There are many reports that suggest to turn off the three finger swipe for screenshot, but that alone didn’t do the trick for some.
Mines working smoothly. But again I m using nova and not the stock launcher.
I’m using PixelExperience. Way better than miui
make a new post for your prob
Which one? I’m looking into Pixel Experience and it seems promising
Same here… I think is some issue with the hardware production and nothing else, caz im having the issue for almost one year.. but it happens rarely that it does not bother me anymore
Which is why i’m using a custom rom
I’ll take a look at the warranty once I get back home and I’ll get back to you.
Hello! Have been thinking of flashing Lineage on my Note 7. Will I be able to format sd cards as internal storage then?
Not OP but EU (AFAIK) has a 2 year warranty on basically everything at minimum.
Oh, nice! I’ll try that right now. I think that can be done in the FQC test menu also
18? Isn’t warranty 2 years? Or only in EU?
Oh, hope not. Phone is working atm (as I’m typing from it). What’s weird is that this problem is intermittent. It comes and goes away after booting back up once or twice.
Download some touch screen test app and check activity. That would be enough to check if its digitizer or not.
Might be as water has splashed on it before. Nothing crazy like complete submersion though.
Phone is 18 months old, I don’t think warranty will cover it, unfortunately. High hopes for a fresh install, or even a custom ROM, to fix it.
Oh crap I hope that’s not the case. Doesn’t look like it here, but I might get that checked out.
The weird thing is that this goes away after trying to leave fastboot. It then happens again at a random moment
If you don’t manage to repair it via fresh install I’d suggest to use warranty
Looks like the battery is bulging up and pushing up the screen.
I think digitizer is broken. You will probably need new screen.
Im on weeb now.
Only factory reset. Might install custom ROM
I think so
I did a factory reset, but it happened again. Is stops after me holding the power button for a while until it boots up. I will look into whatever Mi Flash is. thx
note 9 on amazon for 140 bucks now
My f1 has the same issues
What have you tried?
Make a Factory reset or clean ROM install via Mi Flash.
