Using it for almost a week on Redmi Note 5 (got it on January 14th). No complaints since then, it’s pretty good.
I have problem in this update, Home screen brightness is lowered to around 5%. it’s a bug please fix it. and i update .
If you’re new to MIUI 12, there is an option in dark mode to “darken wallpapers and app splash pages”.
Is that’s not maybe what’s you’re referring to?

I was running a custom recovery and root so OTA update didn’t work for me. I had to download the rom separately and flash it manually. It overwrote the custom recovery and it’s now stock with no root. Just a heads up for anyone with root.

Don’t update phone will lag a alot.
I have observed two issues:
* Lockscreen wallpaper takes a couple of seconds to load when pressing the power button
* Brightness re-adjusts when unlocking the phone in order to get to the level I have configured it to.
Xiaomi has a history of rolling back updates after bugs surface so my suggestion would be to wait for a week and keep an eye on the forums for reported bugs; then update.

Reduced battery considerably on my phone. Xiaomi also bricked the A3 with the Android 11 update recently. The doubts are well founded.

I had a Redmi Note 7 with MIUI 12 and I loved it, but I took a new Redmi Note 8 and it took a long time to upgrade to 12, it really bothered me this delay. Much more fluid, cleaner and I really liked how notifications work now.

The battery life thing is a deal-breaker.
Do it. It improved my mobile (Redmi Note 8) performance a lot. It behaves much better than before.

I read somewhere that it only comes to a limited number of people and if you don’t update right away someone else takes your “spot”… so maybe it’s this, maybe they stopped it purposefully, idk
miui 12 has a lot of freezing these days. especially with facebook messenger.
I updated on the redmi note 7s , and it started consuming a lot of ram and made the phone really slow for some reason. Had to factory reset. I suggest look for the issues that pop up within a week or so. I too got a December security patch today , but I am holding off until I get some info.
Last update on mi a3 , an android one phone , bricked it for many users. So you should always update after knowing it’s safe. When I updated to MIUI 12 in rn7s, my phone lagged horribly and it consumed a lot of ram for no apparent reason. Always wait for a few days.
I received MIUI 12.0.1 update for Redmi Note 6 Pro. And it was devastating, probably the worst update one can ever have. Bugs, Glitches, Stutter, Battery Drain, Poor animation quality, no gaussian blur while pulling notification bar – overall a massive disappointment and worst UI experience ever for me.
It was so bad that I had to unlock bootloader after an hour and flash MIUI 11.0.6 in fastboot method cause I couldn’t withstand those things anymore. My personal suggestion to anyone with Note 6 pro – DON’T UPDATE

Yes, they usually roll out to a small percentage after beta tests are done. I don’t know if someone else “takes your spot” but the update surely disappears after a short while (happened to me with a previous update)

Can you format text (Bold/Italics/etc.) on long-pressing while typing a text in apps like WhatsApp and Telegram?
This has been a standard feature since Nougat. But, not sure why not added to MIUI.

I’m always scared to update when I get one.
For each device it’s its own story. The fact that someone updated and had no issues on their model/device doesn’t mean you won’t.

Redmi note 6 Pro here, got it yesterday. Not buggy, running okay, if anything, I would say now my phone has stopped stuttering (which it started doing at its two-year mark)
The update came to me too but I decided to do it later. Now that I want to do it the app doesn’t detect any update
I got the update notification, download stopped halfway and after retrying few times the update not showing up now 🙁

When I got Miui 12 version on my phone Xiaomi redmi note 8 pro after some days I got one problem. A message poping up randomly at any time saying “Unstable network connection please check your connection and try again”. I saw some people on reddit or Mi community saying that they got the same problem and they don’t know answer too. I mean my internet is okay but why is that happening? I tried to find a solution by resetting wifi settings or turning off my phone and got nothing out of it. It’s actually sad because it really distracts me every time…

My gestures are broken now, I can’t use my gestures so I’m stuck in whatever app I was in (Settings), the gesture tutorial works though.
I’ve tried rebooting the device but then it switches back buttons navigation.
I personally don’t have any problems on my note 8 pro. Didn’t actually notice there was an update until just now I checked which version I have.
This is how I handle updates
Backup -> update ->System Restore->Restore Backup
But it can disappear.

Nooo.. don’t. A lot of problem with Miui 12 on older phones. I have Redmi note 7 and when I upgrade it all hell broke loose. Phone lags a lot. Videos skipping frames and apps crash a lot. You have been warned. 😪🤭😷
Tell me did you faced any slow phone charging on your Note 7 since MIUI12 update and did it get resolved after updating to 12.0.2?
Hmm I didn’t notice it to be any slower. 12.0.2 is not available for me yet.
Well since 11.5 security update my phone’s battery charging got way too slow like taking 11 hours to get fully charged. This thing didn’t get resolved even after 12 update. I’ve also encountered many people facing this on their note 7/7s series. Hence I’m too catious even for this 12.0.2 which I just received an hour earlier. Sooner or later you’ll get your update notification soon as well.
Holy shit 11h is way too long. Just checked on battery usage graph and I got from 10% to 88% in an hour. Usually 1.5h for a full charge.
Then you’re very lucky my friend. I’m just praying this MIUI 12.5/13 finally resolves this slow charging issue on many Mi devices else I’ll be just never going to buy any Mi device specifically phone in future.

Mine is working well, actually I had the ‘receive updates early’ switch turned on and probably that’s why I received the update earlier

1. Recovery 2.fastboot 3. Ota so which i am supposed to download .
I have to update it to 12 cause some banking app like Niyox are not working in miui 11 .
