Phone: Mi 10 Youth Edition (Lite Zoom)
ROM: 12.0.3.0 (CN ROM)
Synopsis:
One-year-old daughter was up at 02.00 this morning for hunger/thirst and unplugged phone from battery at 100%. Ran it for 20.5h today (22.30 now).
Standard usage for me: FB, Browsing, WhatsApp video calls, Phone calls, 30min of videosade with the stock camera app and saved. Many photos. Standard stuff. 2h of streaming radio through speakers while cooking and doing DIY. 1h SoundCloud and YouTube Bluetooth to phones.
7h SOT and 13.5h standby.
Battery dropped from 100% to 35%.
10h of SOT is quite realistic. Or 8h SOT and 28h standby on a single charge for 2 days of usage.
The new battery system settings only reports the last 24h so I took the opportunity to record a longer than usual day as I found 2 full days hard to interpret with the new battery settings screens.
In that end, I don’t see any loss in battery life going MIUI 11 to 12 as on 11 I would get 8h SOT over 2 days or 10h SOT over a shorter period.
Regardless, hope you had a nice weekend and enjoyed my synopsis.
Nice job
Nice report! It’s nice to know that MIUI 12 might not reduce my SoT (at least not drastically). Pretty nice battery life you got
nice
12.0.2 on my mi 9t got me like 4h.. updated to 12.0.3 yesterday hoping it’ll get better, I’m using the xiaomi.eu rom
How much do you lose at night? And dont say that is normal to lose 15% at night while the phone says that it was used for 0 hours.
Hey,
Could you share the gps workaround
My friend has a similar issue.
are we able to limit to 80% full only

On those links you will see how the battery dropped. And no, I didnt use radio. I never use radio.
I am also using mi 10 lite zoom and i am staying at 12.0.3 eu but its oncscreen never reaches over 7 hour :((
You too!
What are you using to theme your buttons ?
I am sorry but that is not normal for me. My friend has poco f1 and she loses around 5% at night. My girlfriend uses samsung and she lost 3% at night. So 16% is not normal. You can say whatever you want.
Could you tell me what annoyances are you talking about? I just got the update on my k20pro CN rom but I don’t want to rush updating it
Thanks for the detailed reply!
No issues so far on 9T Pro, same as 11
Of course, dude. I found it on xda: [https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81735119&postcount=6](https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81735119&postcount=6)
Keep in mind this may work for some people but not for others, tell your friend to try it!
why is that?
On MIUI 11 I would lose 3-4% battery while I was sleeping. On MIUI 12 I lose 16% at night. It said that the battery was drained by using GSM. Ultra power saver was on, WiFi and mobile data were off, and brightness was on minimum.
Can you tell me, how is that possible?
Nice.
Supposedly, fast charging erodes the battery faster.
Yeah, maybe that’s the case.
Nope, im on stable one I got through ota
Did u fix gps on china rom yet ?
nice
It’s definitely not bad. Phones and most technology in general is smart enough to cut off power when the device reaches 100%.
People are too anal about batteries in phones in general. Simply use it how you like and enjoy the device.
Overnight charging is bad for the battery. Honestly, the fast charging is so quick that I just charge it up when I get up in the morning and that is enough for me to get through my day
So what I meant wasn’t specific to MIUI 12 but only MIUI as a whole. Things like:
\- GPS initially does not work at all and I had to spent some time looking for a workaround.
\- There’s a persistent notification when I’m using chat heads on Messenger that I can’t hide.
\- There’s some Chinese stuff like the MiAI or the search page in Chinese left in the system.
\- Way more bloat apps.
\- Generally the notifications are delayed more than [xiaomi.eu](https://xiaomi.eu). (Idk if this is fixed yet)
\- Some annoyances when using another sms app instead of stock (when I tap the message icon in the dialer, it always went to the stock app instead of my app)
\- Other things like no double tap on home screen to lock,…
I experience those when I was running MIUI 10, 11 and 12 beta (I alleviate most of it by running xiaomi.eu). So most of it was not MIUI 12 specific, maybe they even fixed some stuff in MIUI 12 to be less annoying. If you are already running the CN Rom and are comfortable with it, I don’t think you would lose anything by updating to 12.
NICE
U so lucky 😥, i love china stable rom but its gps doesnt work on my country so i must use custom rom
I think you’re mistaken and it’s exactly the opposite.
thought i saw some softwares, and chargers that know to stop at 80 or whatever limit you set
I would gladly show you but my phone doesnt have miui 11 anymore. And yes, it is possible.
My 9 gets 4h sot no gaming or intensive stuff, way worse than miui 11
Well i didnt use Linkedln :D, and i buy it from a merchant and it was full seal. Before unlock bootloader, i must wait a week and in that week, i feel very satisfied with china rom, it is fast and smooth, which you cant see on xiaomi.eu rom
I forgot to mention that I use redmi k20 pro.
you want to limit the charge to 80% ? you need root

[Xiaomi.eu](https://Xiaomi.eu) is based on the CN version
Good write up! That’s some nice SOT indeed.
It does seem to be the case, in my experience with my K20, that the CN ROM has the best battery life, compared to ROMs from other regions or custom ROMs like [xiaomi.eu](https://xiaomi.eu). However, many annoyances are present in the CN version making it not worth using in my case.
Okay i will try 😀
Yes. What’s the theme name ?
Yes i mean xiaomi.eu 😀
yes, i mean the three buttons (recent apps, home and back)
