SIM card & Mobile Networks -> preferred Network type -> Prefer LTE.
There’s no 5G in my country yet, and my phone was overheating and draining battery probably because it was constantly trying to connect to any 5g network. Changing this setting resolved the issue.
I’ve always set it in prefer LTE but the battery has been draining quite a lot every day for reasons unknown to me. At least, the screen on time is very good for my usage though, much better than my old Mi Max which had a bigger battery was a battery life champ of its time.

Yeah, this was the situation when 4g came out, very poor coverage and people went back to 3g.
Phone providers discouraged this by capping 3g data plans at 5gb and 4g data plans at 60gb, lol.
I used activity launcher to launch same screen and selected 2nd option and now it saves. Even shows proper in menu screen. Just doesn’t save if I change in menu screen. Weird
To be honest, I have no idea either. I got obsessed with the battery drain when I first got this phone and tried to fix it but I couldn’t find any cause so I have given up. Standby life is only half of what it might be able to achieve but honestly, my work days have never been long enough or free enough to exhaust the battery of this phone within a single day so I just plug it in when I come back home. I now just use it as I would and hope that it would be fixed in a future update.
On a side note, I checked my system uptime and it had over 800 hours, which is around a month I think. I haven’t restarted this phone in a long time until now as a Google Play System update was downloaded and needed restart. My old phones would require regular power cycling to remain usable, maybe around every 2 or so weeks. Maybe restarting this phone might be able to alleviate some of this drain if whatever is causing this drain goes away for the time being.

If your network doesn’t support 5G, the phone should automatically disable the modem. They need to fix the software.
What does 4G+ means thou? I’m using a Mi10T Pro btw..

Which is the 2nd one. And as I mentioned. It doesn’t save. I select it. There is no save option. I go back and come back in and it’s back on the 1st one
