[POCO F1] Latest firmware fixes touch latency issue. I’ve captured it again at 120 fps slow motion.

A while back I made a video highlighting the touch latency issue on the Pocophone which occurred even on the october batch. The screen edges have a noticeably higher latency than the center of the screen.
The latest firmware seems to optimize it quite a bit. Taps now always register in the correct order for me. As you can see it’s not perfect as sometimes the touches seem to register almost simultaneously but it’s really close.
I am using latest Lineage OS with the latest vendor firmware (at the time of writing it’s 8.11.27).
You can find all firmwares here:

How much is this slowed down?
120 fps stretched to 30 fps?
Are you aware of any other latency issues on other phones in the Mi 8 / Pocophone / Mi 8 line or just the Pocophone?
I have no idea, but that may be the case. It’s the slowest option on my OnePlus One.
EDIT: I just checked, it is correct. 120 fps slowed down to 30 fps so 1/4th of actual speed.
I only know about the Pocophone.
I don’t know about those phones but it’s present in the redmi 5 plus too
got ya… thanks

Good to see someone take the time to make others understand!
I hope they fix this. I am very annoyed by this eventhough my typing habits have changed, but it is unacceptable nontheless.
…. you hope they fix this? Are we looking at the same thread? It is fixed, that’s the point…
Niiice, can’t wait until it hits Global Stable!
Although i didn’t have that much of a problem …. Wow, that sure looks different!
Pls Xiaomi do the same for Mi A2 Lite!!
Not fixed on mine
Because you are not on the latest firmware?
I am on 10.0.06. if that is not the newest firmware you can argue it is not fixed because Xiaomi hasn’t openly released the newest firmware. Thus it is not fixed for me.
Yup, but is less worse than Poco, is acceptable, you wont feel that in real life use! The phone is good for me.. the camera need updates bcs is so laggy on HDR and Portret 🙁
youre a tool
Wait what’s wrong with mi A2 lite?
Didn’t they just increase response time for the sides? How else could they fix this issue?
They either fixed the lag of the edges or increased the latency in the center to match the edges. I’m actually not sure… Either way, it feels much better now.
Touch latency was highly improved in latest updates, but it can still be a little better, as it is noticeable in the screen edges.
No u
I don’t really mind the notch that much, I find the extremely big rounded corners much more intrusive. You can “fix” both with Nacho Notch, though.
Are you sure it’s the a2 liteand not the a2? I’ve noticed it on the a2 but haven’t seen it happen on the lite
Yeah I’m pretty sure of the phone I’m typing on hahahah
It’s not specific of one model, I’ve seen this touch latency problem mostly in pocophone, but also in Mi A2 Lite and Redmi 5 Plus, it has to do with the touchscreen Xiaomi uses on some badges.
Truth be told, after some updates, response time in Mi A2 Lite has hugely decreased and now it’s great (except from screen edges)
I have tried mix 2s, poco f1 and mi 8 on a store in spain. Imo the only one out of the three with perfect latency was the mi 8. The latency was better on the mix 2s than on the poco tho
When the Mi 8 was compared to the Poco F1, it picked up touches more responsively than the Poco. It did not have this issue.
Fuck him for pointing out that he didn’t receive an update for his phone yet, right? You people reach a peakness of being miserable for no good reason sometimes.
Finally! Thank god LOS 16 already implemented the fix. I can confirm that typing on the keyboard feels normal again.
Great that you feel that way. I hope you can voice your opinion in public without grunting noises. What makes you go on a Xiaomi subreddit and announce dumb shit like that? Call your Mum and tell her you called a stranger on the internet an idiot. Make Ma Dukes proud finally, please.
What app is this? My mix 2 definitely does this sometimes. I knew something was up. Maybe it’s related to gesture controls? What I really need to improve typing is a taller keyboard, either an option to make it much taller or move the position up entirely. Now that we have minimal bezels and no taskbar the keyboard is getting akward all the way down there.
Take note that people who did not have the touchscreen issue at first, have had their screens become relatively unresponsive after the update.
As someone who had edge delay, the update has indeed fixed it for me but it’s noticeable that the screen has become slightly less responsive.(I think they’re trying to fix the screen responding to wires and cables touching it)
By update I mean closed beta 8.11.27, I’m not sure if it’s using the same firmware as 8.11.23
It’s [this](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.the511plus.MultiTouchTester) app.
Thank you. My issue appears to be entirely different. If I touch too close to the edge of the screen it tries to start a gesture and won’t register taps at all in app, but with “show touches” on I can see it’s registering but the app doesn’t see it.
Please consult rule #2.
Will this update come to our phones via the official update or should I install it from your link?
I guess it’ll be released once the beta testing is done. It could take a while, though.
For me it’s not a big deal, because I’m unlocked and on Lineage OS regardless, so for me it’s mandatory either way.
Why is this related to an Android issue you have from 2011?
This is a hardware issue of a device from 2018, it has absolutely nothing to do with Android.
