Pixel Experience Plus (Android 11) on my three year old Redmi Note 5 AI (whyred). Feels faster than MIUI 12.

As of now, Corvus OS. I have tried a lot of custom ROMS and Corvus gave me the best performance. If you like a more stock Android look and feel, go for Pixel Plus UI.
I have an M3, too. What ROM did you install?
Quick question does the corvus rom has native call recorder, I miss the auto call recorder from the native xiaomi app, but the Google app is a lot better but doesn’t have call recording, if not do you know any way to add call recording to the Google app.
This ROM already has a built in SafetyNet so you don’t need to root it using Magisk. If you install LineageOS, you need to install GApps and Magisk on TWRP.
Yeah exactly I’m currently using a mi 10T which is also a great experience with custom ROMs
Custom ROMs made every old phone looked brand new especially when Xiaomi can’t optimized their older phones very well unlike Samsung recently.
Yeah. I’m a fan of that band. 😀
Yeah. It feels like I’m using a Mi A2 without the sluggishness on their official Android 10 update (my brother had that phone but it felt too sluggish thanks to that butchered update from Xiaomi).
Definitely does I was daily driving a Redmi note 5 for ages and custom ROMs work amazingly well almost identical to a mi A2.
That’s what I did to my phone right now. My POCO X3 still runs on its original MIUI ROM. I just wait until it reaches its end of life support, where they no longer receiving support.
That sounds good, mine is using the high quality preset, if I use the original quality it’s limited to the 15gb.
I will have to look into it
What happens to the fingerprint app that’s used to unlock the device? Does it get broken on custom ROMs?
Same. It gave my Poco M3 additional performance I never knew it had. Custom ROMS are simply amazing.
Does this get supported by the banking apps in India cause I read somewhere that banking apps stop working once you install custom rom
And are these available for the redmi note 9
Apologies for the absolute beginner questions
I added gcam manually, for me this feels good enough mainly because I don’t game on it, mostly reddit, youtube and plex.
I will look at corvus and maybe change to it later.
Didn’t know about the site, I used to go to xda for new roms/info
Nice background ^_^
Same for the Redmi Note 9. I was surpised to see many ROMs in the xda-developers site.
I really need help with this stuff after unlocking the bootloader.
I also changed to the pixelplusui on my note 6 pro and after changing from the 3.4 to the 3.5 version I saw that the Google backup had the name pixel, went it photos app and I couldn’t believe my eyes, i was about to buy the cheapest Google Cloud package now I don’t have to buy it
Dude I couldn’t even believe how fast my brother’s 2GB Redmi 7 became after installing Nusantra ROM on it. MIUI had made it nearly unusable, and we were planning an upgrade.
Installed Nusantra and it performs as good as new.
I guess try linking your account and phone number again.
I tend to use it for occasional quick scan. When this was on MIUI, I occasionally use the Mi Security app to ran a virus scan.
You don’t need AV on Android. I would suggest uninstalling Malwarebytes, or at least only installing it occasionally to do a quick scan. Don’t keep it installed all the time, AVs love to run in the background being “helpful”.
Mh, the official Bootload unlocker programm mentioned that my Mi Account is not linked to a telephone number while it is
Me currently using Project Sakura in my Redmi Note 8.
In my Redmi Note 4x that my mother used, i using Pixel Experience A10 Dec 2020 Build.
I don’t wanna touch the RN4x anymore 😁 and my mother didn’t complain anything in the phone for almost a year now.
Android 11 perform much better than 10
It’s always safe to unlock it unless you’re using some shady pirate bay unlocking tool 100% no virus lmao
In a few days the 8T will get the HavocOS treatment, last time I tried I had a 2 hour battery life, but now that I bricked my phone with pixel experience and had to flash back to stock it might be different
Miui 12 is absolutely crap…! Happy to se custom roms are embraced..!
follow the instruction from official xiaomi site. you need both Mi Batch Unlocker (to unlock the phone), and Mi Flash Tool (for fastboot drivers) however.
Which build were you on? Crdroid has a May update which I was thinking of flashing.
Good luck with a11 though.
I’m in Arrow OS. Nothing special. Pretty much stock Android. But it’s so smooth and snappy that I don’t want MIUI.
I think this will work. There’s also a switch for VoLTE in the network settings.
Any significant bugs on crdroid? I’m looking for a good a10 rom for my whyred.
It will probably eventually come; it was a recently released flagship anyways, and Mi 9 got it, I believe.
Actually redmi note 8 pro (begonia) has strong development community.
Camera’s still ok. I can’t try VoLTE cause my country’s VoLTE is still broken and only worked on selected devices that the carriers recommended.
is Pixel Experience giving support to Mi10 5G?
Really interested in changing the ROM also.
How do you do that exactly
Another positive aspect: You are a fan of good music 👍
MIUI 12 slows down my Redmi Note 8. Switched to Dot OS 5.1.2 and holy crap, the RAM management is insane! Never been happier switching between 7-8 apps at a time and keeping them even when the screen is off a while
Nice
I think on my POCO X3 NFC, they already fixed their issues from their first Android 11 update based on MIUI 12 including the chat bubbles.
I have an 8T and a Redmi 5. The 5 has pixel experience, the 8t is stock. The 5 is so much faster, it’s my main phone now
Looks decent but sometimes it crashes when taking an image.
I would install a custom ROM but… Apparently mediatek chipset aren’t really safe
Hey can you install gcam in it? If yes how is the quality? And can i do this with my years old redmi 3s prime?
I use TWRP. After you unlock using the official Mi Unlock tool, you might start to see the unlock icon on top of Mi/Redmi/POCO logo or the word “Unlocked” at the bottom when your phone was originally ran on MIUI 11 or below.

Great, i will take time for this. MIUi 12.1 had ruined my life, cant attach file to any apps.
Yes, you can. It has a native screen recorder. Just set it to system sounds.
Oh, is there anyway to record screen with system sound like MIUI? I use that function quite often.
I think you can’t remove the Google search bar in the Pixel launcher. The camera looks the same but the camera app uses the same older MIUI camera app.
yeah, the weekly beta from xiaomi.eu is much better than the global stable
You can safely unlock and install even when there’s support.
I usually stayed on the original ROM until it ran out of support so it’s now safe to unlock the bootloader and install custom ROMs. Currently using POCO X3 as a main driver and just recently installed MIUI 12.5.
If my phone ran out of supported timeframe, i would instal the pixel exp for once, but im currently use the xiaomi.eu rom, it aint that bad tbh.
Custom ROM gang represent.
