I purchased the Xiaomi BW500 Outdoor Camera, and after connecting it to the Xiaomi Home app, everything worked smoothly. The camera has 8 GB of integrated storage, which is intended for storing videos recorded by its surveillance features. Once you enable the Home Surveillance option, the camera automatically records video when it detects a person, car, or other specified targets. However, when you try to play back the recorded video, you can only watch a 9-second clip. Afterwards, it prompts you to subscribe to Xiaomi Home Secure to access the full video recording. My question is: why can’t the camera use the integrated 8 GB of memory to store the complete detection video? Additionally, why is this limitation not mentioned in the camera’s specifications?
You’re using it wrong. Turn off surveillance, and watch videos from the below option “Storage management”, and choose SD card .
